Sep 14, 2016Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is a visual novel that kept me interested through its characters, world, and story, while constantly engaged by the player choices impacting on the plot. There’s a bit of information overload at times if you haven’t seen the anime, but that shouldn’t be enough to put anyone off.
-
Sep 28, 2016It does both its genre and namesake justice, offering fans one more thrill in its dystopian society.
-
Sep 10, 2016The storyline and characters are utterly compelling, regardless of your awareness of the source material. In fact, the story was effective enough to convince me to give the show a watch. The game does, however, end up missing a few of the convenience features expected from many other modern entrants in the genre.
-
Sep 29, 2016Much like Psycho-Pass: The Movie, Mandatory Happiness is a slightly disposable, yet ultimately enjoyable look at another facet of the Psycho-Pass universe.
-
Nov 1, 2016Psycho Pass Mandatory Happiness is a nice game for anyone who likes Japanese visual novels or the Psycho Pass anime. The game doesn't require much input from the player and gets a bit repetitive sometimes, but the setting and story mostly make up for that.
-
Sep 22, 2016This mild sense of disappointment at Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness' production values can't obscure the fact that its most important component, its writing, succeeds, and largely captures what made the anime feel special. It may not exceed or even meet its source material's heights, but it does it justice, which is, considering Psycho-Pass' world, more than can be said for most cases.
-
Oct 9, 2016Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is a decent example of game from a niche genre. Just don't expect to be doing much more than advancing through dialogue screens and you'll enjoy yourself.
-
Dec 1, 2016What you have in Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is an ugly-looking game with forgettable characters and a dull plot. I'm sure that if you're into the anime, you may have a slightly higher opinion of the game, but if you're not, there's no reason to even think about looking into it.
-
Oct 18, 2016Psycho Pass mandatory Happiness is a visual novel with a lack of gameplay content, and only multiple choice answers. Clearly not the best game of its category.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKNov 21, 2016A solid idea, but that's all. [Dec 2016, p.73]
-
Oct 4, 2016Poor performance aside, Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is just a miserable experience that lacks any understanding of what made the anime it was based off of so special.
