    As lovable as ever, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is right at home on Sony's portable. It feels as though this is where the game belonged all along. Everything has carried over: the old school, beat-'em-up charm along with a heavy dose of gameplay variation and customization, but the added portability makes it even better than before.

    Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is a great fighting game with colorful graphics and a great soundtrack. If you like the retro look and the feel of an old school fighter this is a must have.

    Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is a fun, fast paced brawler, with a strong retro presentation that runs out of steam all too quickly. Repetitiveness almost over shadows everything that it does well, and the ghost town multiplayer modes certainly don’t help either. That said, if you’re up for an old school beat-‘em-up – with some modern additions – then this title may still be worth rescuing.

    Battle Grounds may have nice animations, interesting, old-school-inspired environments, and the heart of a classic beat-'em-up, but its gameplay pales in comparison to its more quality-oriented, difficult, and well-balanced competition. It's an easy, almost mindless romp.

    if you're looking for a beat em up with anime theme look no further!
    i think this game is under $10 on psn, and well worth it imho.

    you can play online with 2 other people, and the game has several heroes to pick from.
    it has a single dlc that costs 4 or 5 bucks and that adds 1 addition character, and increases the level cap. so you can hold off on the purchase unless you really enjoy the game, and in that case it seems worthwhile.

    i've put a couple hours into this so far and it's a great game to pop on before bedtime for example. short bursts of beat em up action.

    check out some video reviews or footage, for the price i think this game is a great value.
    sadly does not work on my PSTV as of oct 21st. hopefully they add support for this gem.    … Expand
