Feb 27, 2012We actually find it hard to come up with any complaints about Motorstorm RC. On the contrary, we feel like we've stolen this game. An extremely low price for a visually strong and extremely addictive racing game? You won't find a better deal anywhere soon.
-
Hyper MagazineApr 12, 2012It's a mess of fun at a fraction of the price of a full Vita title. Insanity. Get into it. [May 2012, p.80]
-
Mar 21, 2012MotorStorm RC is an instant passion and one of the most pleasurable games for PlayStation Vita.
-
Mar 2, 2012There is really no reason not to buy MotorStorm RC on Vita; the price tag is merely 5 euros and if you are in the least interested in racing and just a tiny bit competitive you will have many hours of fun. This is mobile arcade racing as it is supposed to be.
-
Feb 28, 2012A staggering title: not only is it a successful test bed for one of the PlayStation Vita's most promising features, but it's also a cunningly addictive game in its own right.
-
Feb 23, 2012Of all the Vita launch titles, MotorStorm RC is the most natural fit for short gaming sessions. It's ideal to jump into for a few minutes, but that doesn't prevent it from being a huge timesink once its hooks are in.
-
Feb 20, 2012At just under five quid it's extraordinarily good value, there's lots of game here and the trophies hint at at least two new festival bundles, potentially expanding what's already a considerably beefy game into one that might threaten to make the rest of the line-up obsolete for some time...I love this game.
-
Games Master UKApr 4, 2012Simple, no-nonsense racer that's the most bargainalicious PS Vita game yet. [May 2012, p.99]
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxApr 2, 2012MotorStorm Artic Edge was a decent PSP game, but failed to capture the awe inspiring violence the franchise is known for. So making MotorStorm RC a top-down racer was an incredibly smart move. Especially since everything else still feels like MotorStorm: the music, the menus, ... [April 2012, p.93]
-
Mar 12, 2012The control is good (if a tiny bit loose), the tracks are well designed and challenging, the different events mean you can always stay diverse, and the various vehicle classes do indeed have a major impact on your racing. I'm not the biggest fan of any of the camera angles (although I eventually stuck with the top-down one), and the production isn't as slick as I might've expected, but…The game is fun. Simple.
-
Mar 9, 2012Clearly limited time has been spent on the tracks and vehicles, due to budgetary and download size constraints perhaps, and it shows.
-
Mar 5, 2012MotorStorm RC is a very nice top-down racer, with plenty of tracks and events, a fun gameplay and well-implemented social aspects. All for a bargain.
-
Feb 20, 2012It's by no means perfect – the inclusion of proper online multiplayer would've added another point – but you'd be hard-pushed to find a game as good as this for the price. If Motorstorm RC is an indication of the kind of quality gaming Vita will offer at such an attractive price then maybe Vita does have what it takes to stay the distance.
-
Feb 27, 2012Motorstorm makes its debut on PS Vita with an excellent game.
-
Play UKApr 17, 2012For under a fiver you get the game on both PS Vita and PS3, too, which is reason enough to buy it. [Issue#217, p.79]
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaApr 11, 2012The solo content is phenomenal value for money and the cross-play with PS3 works insanely well. One price gets you both versions and they share players and results. Couple that with an seamless Autolog-style challenge system and this is a must-buy. [April 2012, p79]
-
Mar 29, 2012A game designed to offer fun, and doesn't dissapoint. Although it lacks a multiplayer online mode which would have been great, it offers enough content to keep us engaged for hours, and has a very affordable price.
-
Mar 6, 2012Cross-play functionality save sharing is top notch, but a lack of online multiplayer is a shame. MotorStorm RC is easily one of the Vita's best budget games, as well as top title for the PS3.
-
Mar 5, 2012MotorStorm RC is a very good arcade racing game. For just 5,99 Euros you cannot ask anything else.
-
Mar 5, 2012One of the most pleasant surprises from PSVita's launch line-up. It's fun, it's addictive and you can play it on your PS3 too!
-
Mar 1, 2012Small engines, big fun: Once you started it is hard to put the Vita down. Head-to-head online duels are sorely missed, though.
-
Feb 29, 2012Though very different from its predecessors, MotorStorm RC proves as fun as any other arcade game out there... and maybe even more. Too bad for the lack of online multiplayer.
-
Feb 28, 2012What appears to be an early '90s throwback racer is, in actuality, an extremely forward-thinking game in terms of simplicity of play, online connectivity, and pricing.
-
Feb 28, 2012Motorstorm is a game relatively limited, but capable of giving immense fun at an affordable price.
-
Feb 27, 2012It's an absurd bargain. With online multiplayer, it would be a miniature classic. As it is, it's recommended for PS3 owners, all but essential if you have a Vita - and for lovers of RC cars or top-down racing, it's a rare treat.
-
Feb 26, 2012The most enjoyable MotorStorm game by far and arguably the best game on the PS Vita - or at the very least the best value for money.
-
Feb 23, 2012Who would have thought that a budget digital title would actually outshine some of the big guns of the PS Vita launch lineup? It's the perfect amalgamation of old and new that will please MotorStorm fans and the nostalgia brigade alike.
-
Feb 23, 2012Motorstorm makes its debut on Playstation Vita and a lot has changed from the earlier console games. Instead of real vehicles you get to drive RC cars in short, fast races. Motorstorm RC fits the portable format perfectly but why is there no multiplayer?!
-
Feb 27, 2012This is not a Motorstorm you'd expect it: multiplayer features to log what your friends are doing and radio controlled cars without boosts await those who are looking for something casual-fresh for their PS Vita.
-
Mar 26, 2012Fans of RC Pro-Am rejoice, because MotorStorm RC is here to resurrect the long dead remote controlled car genre. Featuring locations from all four MotorStorm games, this RC variation is the most diverse installment yet. Even without a dedicated multiplayer mode, MotorStorm RC offers more than enough content.
-
Mar 4, 2012Playing MotorStorm RC feels like a crime. For only six euros you get a game that's fun to play, is very addictive, looks great and has plenty of content.
-
Mar 12, 2012It's addictive at first, but I just don't see it holding interest after several hours of play unless you have a highly competitive group of friends to continually challenge to best your scores.
-
May 12, 2012MotorStorm RC leaves us with mixed feelings. The MotorStorm spin-off is an ideal portable game with short races and no load-times. It also comes at a low price and boasts lots of content, and it's playable on both your PS3 and Vita with some great crossplatform functions. But when it comes to controls and the camera the game doesn't do all that well. It's a great concept that doesn't live up to its potential.
-
Mar 2, 2012It's a generous package, and even more so given that a purchase of the Vita version nets you a PS3 copy as well, your progress persistent between the two versions. Other launch games may better sell Vita's touch, tilt or AR capabilities, but there is no better advertisement for its connectivity.
-
Mar 2, 2012You get a good amount of gaming for little money and you will feel like a happy kid for a while with MotorStorm RC. In the end it´s the completely missing online modes which keep it from higher praise.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKMar 29, 2012It's fun, but only in the same way wanging around plastic trucks was back when you wore Bananaman pyjamas. [Apr 2012, p.118]
-
PSM3 Magazine UKMar 22, 2012Plenty of tracks and motors, but fails the brand spectacularly on thrills. It's like Motorstorm as viewed by a seagull. [Apr 2012, p.108]
-
Mar 1, 2012This portable version of MotorStorm, with its tiny RC cars you drive from a top-down view, is a fun little surprise on the Vita. The gameplay's simple, but solid. And the price is really low, especially considering you'll get the Vita Version for free on top of this one. The only downside, but an important one : no multiplayer whatsoever.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)May 7, 2012All this offers is twin-stick controls and slightly crisper visuals. [June 2012, p.83]
