A stunningly beautiful arcade space shooter that provides just the right mix of challenge and exploration.

That's the downside to the game: Gravity Crash Ultra is designed for short, quick play sessions, which, all things considered, isn't exactly a bad thing.

An ideal fit for the Vita, the classic arcade styling and gameplay are a joy.

The minimalistic neon visuals didn’t lose anything in the last five years. But when it comes to the core mechanics, the subtle changes didn’t serve the purpose.

The attention to detail in both art direction and audio design is admirable, and it's decent value for money. [Issue#152, p.122]

Its lack of depth means that you’re not going to be dedicating months of your life to it, but sometimes you just want something fun, easy to pick up, and bursting with playable content. On that level, this is an absolute bargain.

The original Gravity Crash didn’t do too well when it came out in 2009, not least because it launched so close to PixelJunk Shooter. Now, five years on, this re-release doesn’t improve anything that was broken, and arguably detracts further from the titles it wants to emulate by setting the default option so easy.
