This is not Zelda. It is more of a puzzle game of finding the item (often hidden) you need to progress. Combat is more about grinding to get to the level you need to progress which is not always fun. Good retro look and music.

I feel like this game deserves a defender. While the combat will leave much to be desired basically you step on monsters near your strength level to gain exp, and bounce off stronger monsters and thats it, the puzzle, exploring, and collecting is a lot of fun. The 8-bit graphic are charming, the price is very fair, and there is a surprising amount of length. I think I'm at the finalI feel like this game deserves a defender. I think I'm at the final dungeon, but the game is full of surprises, though I seriously doubt any replay value is possible. Absolutely worth $5, it's a simpler version of A Link to the Past with more challenging puzzles. Expand

It shouldn’t be too surprising, I suppose, that Fairune got its start as a mobile title — with its basic mechanics and relative lack of plot, it feels like the sort of game you can hop into and out of with minimal difficulty. And, let’s be honest, there’s certainly a place for pick-up-and-play games on the Vita and the 3DS. But there’s a difference between being able to pick up a game and immediately start playing it, and a game being so undemanding it barely feels worth it. Fairune falls into the latter category.

Fairune is a charming puzzle game. While it can sometimes be a bit frustrating trying to work out what you need to do in order to advance, once you figure out how the game works you'll be eagerly racing from puzzle to puzzle - trying to see what exciting area you'll uncover next.
