Mar 5, 2012A long and fun game, albeit one with a lack of properly executed back touch features and filled with graphical mediocrity. Skipping this will not make your heart skip a beat – we promise.
-
Feb 23, 2012The Vita copy of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is in a rather unique and unsavory position. You see, the exact same game can be purchased on the PlayStation Network for less than a third of the $39.99 Vita cartridge cost, and cheaper still on the iOS app store.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKMar 22, 2012Solid, playable and enjoyable - but its world is just a bit too hackneyed to care about. [Apr 2012, p.107]

Feb 27, 2012I love a good action-RPG but sadly, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is my least favorite launch games for the Vita, and has only held my attention for as long as it has because I never played the PS3 version. And if you really must play this game then by all means get the PS3 version. You'll save more than $25 plus you might actually get to read the text on the larger screen. There are a lot better games you can be playing on your Vita, even if they aren't action-RPG.
-
Apr 21, 2012The hack 'n slash role playing game Dungeon Hunter Alliance is a lot cheaper on other platforms, and for that reason alone not recommendable for purchase on a PS Vita. From a gameplay perspective, this isn't a bad game, but it doesn't shine anywhere either.
-
Hyper MagazineApr 12, 2012The gameplay is very much by-the-numbers for the genre. [May 2012, p.81]
-
Mar 9, 2012A decent take on handheld hack'n'slash entertainment, but we can't help but feel that Gameloft were in too much of a rush with this one.
-
Feb 23, 2012The Vita version of this PSN hack'n-slay, which in return is based on a mobile phone franchise, offers solid entertainment with a hefty price tag.
-
Feb 15, 2012The Vita version of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is a fine Diablo clone, but a lack of ambition and a high price hold it back on the platform.
-
Games Master UKApr 4, 2012Basic, low-budget dungeon grinding with a ridiculous price tag. [May 2012, p.99]
-
Mar 10, 2012Gameloft once again had an opportunity to set the bar for what to expect from a genre game on the Vita, and once again they've set such a low standard it's not going to take long for another title to surpass it.
-
Mar 8, 2012Dungeon Hunter does offer a few moments of fun, but they're eclipsed by painful repetition and clumsy design.
-
Feb 24, 2012Dungeon Hunter: Alliance isn't a terrible game, just an overpriced one. When you can nab the same experience somewhere else for nearly $30 less, it is hard to ignore that fact.
-
Feb 14, 2012Dungeon Hunter: Alliance isn't as polished as Diablo and lacks the charm of Torchlight. Battling through its varied levels and sorting through mountains of loot is fun, when glitches don't get in the way.
-
Mar 4, 2012Dungeon Hunter Alliance has too many fundamental issues -- from gameplay quality and length, to presentation issues, to a massively inflated price -- to make it worthwhile for most Vita owners.
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxMar 4, 2012Dungeon Hunter: Alliance does nothing similar games didn't already do ten years ago and stubbornly refuses to make use of the unique capabilities of the PlayStation Vita. There are no voice-overs, there is no visual flair whatsoever and there is very little strategy to be found. [March 2012, p.65]
-
Feb 22, 2012Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is a bland port of a bland game doing bland things on an exciting system. Nothing else to see here. Move along.
-
Mar 29, 2012Clearly not one of the best launch games for PS Vita, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is just a poor dungeon crawler with lots of glitches and technical problems.
-
Mar 22, 2012If you already own Dungeon Hunter for your PS3, then I would stay away from this one. Aside from some minimal takes on control which do nothing to improve the gameplay, this is exactly the same game.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Mar 5, 2012Alliance is plagued by some rather lengthy load times, which can put the kibosh on short commute playtime. [Apr 2012, p.59]
-
Feb 28, 2012Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is too much of a classic production with the poorest combat system on the portable market. Graphics lacks in definition and gameplay in precision, so the game is absolutely not an investment.
-
Feb 24, 2012Solid dungeon crawler action is held back by monotonous game play and a cluttered loot system, but most of all a price point at $40 that is more than double the PSN price for virtually the same game.
-
Feb 23, 2012Not necessarily a bad game. It just doesn't do anything to make itself memorable or stand out from a crowd.
-
Feb 17, 2012Ubisoft must think the Vita audience is brain-dead to try to sell them a flawed, unimproved port of an already mediocre game for $39.99.
