    Doki-Doki Universe has a certain playful charm to it but the gameplay, that involves little more than walking around clicking on people and objects, was just to simplistic and repetitive to keep me interested for very long.

    Conceptually it should be applauded for, on paper at least, offering something that little bit different. In delivery it’s far too often flat with a side of boredom and backfire.

    Doki-Doki Universe is not easy to judge. Although there are more shortcomings to it than you would like and it grates too fast on the same quirks, it's still a sweet and interesting satire of our society which feels a bit out of place as a videogame.
