When I was younger I never exposed myself to Digimon, however I am a fan of PS Vita games and this is an awesome game. It's addictive story and game play shine through its hours of game play and also has NG+ to keep it going on past the first play through. The game also takes subtle jabs at other franchises in its dialog which gave me and my wife a few laughs. It's not perfect, but it is absolutely fantastic in my opinion. I loved Digimon World Dusk when I was younger and Cyber Sleuth is a massive improvement over the previous Digimon Story games. The graphics are beautiful, and the soundtrack can be a little repetitive at times but luckily it sounds nice enough that this wasn't a problem for me. The combat is simple enough and the attack animations (and the animations in general) are well done. It was extremely tempting to try out all of a Digimon's possible evolutions and build a perfect team (and with about 250 Digimon that can all be found in-game, the goal of collecting all of them is more easily attainable than in, say, Pokémon). The translation can be a bit poor at times and I'm not sure how to feel about the lack of English audio, but considering the game only ever got localized because so many fans wanted it as soon as possible, I'm willing to let those things slide. There are some weird inconsistencies like certain quests being absent from the Western versions of the game but hopefully this will be rectified in the future. Additionally, the differences between the (retail) PS4 version and the PS Vita version (in regards to price + "preorder" DLC), though understandable, could be frustrating. But overall, I do not at all regret buying this game and I hope we get to see more titles localized soon. Expand

Digimon has always been a great childhood pastime of mine, Digimon world was pretty much the first digimon game I ever played. And let me tell you, that game was like the dark souls version of digimon, really hard and die a lot.... Digimon games have never really been all that great, with the exception of the digimon world series. Here we have pretty much the best digimon game ever madeDigimon has always been a great childhood pastime of mine, Digimon world was pretty much the first digimon game I ever played. And let me tell you, that game was like the dark souls version of digimon, really hard and die a lot.... Digimon games have never really been all that great, with the exception of the digimon world series. Here we have pretty much the best digimon game ever made next to digimon world!

Story : Bandai Namco has leaned the story and appearance to a more adult and mature audience, because as they said digimon fans are not kids anymore, but adults. I mean most digimon fans are in their 20's including myself. The story is interesting enough to be like watching a new season of digimon. When your body gets taken by this mysterious creature in cyberspace and you are left into the real world half digitized. A cyber detective helps you on the way. Your mission is to regain your body, help the detective on her cases, and of course... save the world from doom with your digimon. You are the Cyber Sleuth.

Sound : The sound is great, not superb but good enough. The digital popish/rockish/jazzyish music at least keeps the atmosphere going that you're in the digital world. The sounds for the digimons are ok but it could have been better. It would have been nice to hear augmon call his pepper breath in their classic ecoy voice as I use it like in the anime. But that's ok, it would have gotten really boring quick anyways.

Gameplay : The gameplay is your classic turn-based RPG game, which honestly you don't really see a lot besides like persona or bravely default since most RPGs now are action-based with real time. There is your attack, your skills, your guard, your items, you can change digimon mid battle, your auto-play, and your escape. The animation for the skills are acualy really nice to watch, nostalgia level stuff here for the hard core fans. Digivolve your digimon is a lot different than just raising pokemon to evolve in this game. You need to meet certain requirements to digivolve your digimon into a certain digimon. And just one baby digimon can have several different branching paths to choose from. For example you have this baby digimon that can evolve into 2 other digimon with the right requirements, then once you evolve that digimon, it can evolve into 4 other digimon, then once you evolve it again you can evolve it into 6 other digimon. You can even devolve it into a weaker version digimon to pick a different branching path. Thats pretty much how your going to get all the digimon in the game. Oh and thank god for non-boring side missions. Most of the side missions they have you do is rather interesting, as your an assistant detective solving cyber crimes around the place with their own little stories. There is colosseum fights online... which I don't recommend unless your digimon has good stats or else they will die quickly. All coliseum fights are fixed to level 50, like if your digimon is a level 100 it will be a level 50 or if its a level 10 it will be a level 50, etc. There is the offline colosseum fights with the CPU, but that's more like a tournament thing than one to one fights. There is the digi farm where you raise your digimon's level while you go do something else with your party digimon. You know like how pokemon would have that day care place and leave your pokemon there so they can level up over time while you do something else? pretty much the same here. You can unlock more land to put more digimon in the digi farm as you progress through the game. Unfortunately the digi farm only runs when you're playing the game, not when you exit out of it and they still keep leveling like pokemon.... so you're going to have to be spending a lot of time on this game. There is these nice digimon medals you can sell to this guy in the game, then you can view the collection of the medals, 400 in total I believe it is? The medals kind of look like those tamagotchi toys, nice little nogata there for the fans. I think I covered most of the basics.... Oh just a hint, every time you devolve and evolve a digimon, their level cap goes up but their level will always reset back to 1. Of course just because they are a level 1 doesn't mean they are super weak, you can have a level 1 mega level digimon and their stats would be way up there.

Someone compared this game to persona, and it very much is like that too... at least core gameplay wise with your skills, attack, items, switching, auto attacking, escaping... etc. All just without social links of course.

Bugs : I haven't really come across any game breaking bugs, but I heard that apparently there are mildly annoying errors in the Vita version of the game. For example, there are random bits of voice acting missing in certain scenes. I also read that the purple missions are missing. No one's sure if they were removed on purpose or if it's a problem that will be patched. Nothing really game breaking though.

If you're a digimon fan, buy it.

I've loved Digimon ever since the little Tomagachi bricks were a thing in the 90's, and I'd always wanted a true followup to the awesome Digimon World on PS1.

This game is not it. But that doesn't mean it's bad. The game's battles are the standard RPG turn-based affair. Which seem to be harder to come across, so this was actually a selling point for me. The story is mature for a

Pretty graphics, a good art style, nice electronic/rock/jazzy music, it all comes together to be a pretty good atmospherically.

Really, more than anything else, the game reminds me of what Persona 3/4 could have been like without the social links. Which I'd say is a mild compliment at least.

If you're a fan, I say go for it. If not, then watch some videos, if it looks appealing, chances are you'll still have a good time.

    Worth every penny.

Pro's: - Similar to Digimon World: Dusk/Dawn mechanic wise.
    - Very well written story.
    - Japanese Audio with English subs. (oddly nice)
    - Beautiful Animations and art direction.
    -Crossplay
Cons: Trophy's shouldn't be tied to earn medals.

Digimon is probably my favorite franchise so keep in mind I'm a bit biased. Although my last venture was the online MMO Digimon Masters, and that was impossible to enjoy. With this new addition I can honestly say the future is very bright for Digimon, as this game has a lot to delve into.

Pros: -The classic turned based Gameplay is how you would expect. There is a great variety of attacks, status effects and attribute bonuses/weaknesses to keep you strategizing. Enjoyable enough.

-The process of collecting Digimon is very simple. If you encounter a Digimon that your scanner gets 100-200% on, then you can have that Digimon. Allowing for you to collect all your favorites with ease.

-*Digifarms* Extra areas where you can leave your Digimon to train/develop new items/investigate cases as well as feed them. Really adds to the classic pet simulation feel that the series is based on.

-Extensive story situations that can be really silly and awesome. I'm only halfway through the game and pushing 40 hours. You get your money's worth and be proud to see Digimon back again.

Cons: -More could be done to keep the classic turned based gameplay interesting. The only thing different is that story characters can come in and help in certain situations to up your party to 4-5 Digimon at a time.

-The dialogue is a little too extensive at times. I feel myself wanting to just get back to leveling my Digital Monsters and stop reading constantly.

Overall, I feel this game deserved a 10/10 because it has the potential to appeal to everyone who enjoys playing games. It pleases any Digimon fan with any taste. It is more impressive than a lot of the previous entries. It has been a long time coming. Hopefully this spells the beginning of much more for Digimon.

Ahh how long has been since I have enjoy a digimon videogame, not too long thanks to Cyber Sleuth.
If you have played Digimon World DS or Digimon Dawn/Dusk for the NDS you'll note the similarity, this one takes a lot from these games, the battle system, the lvl cap system, etc.

It's a story of friendship just like a digimon game shuld be, between mankind and digimons and between you and your friends, the characters are very charismatic(excluding Yuuko). The battle system is well done but is a little simple. It has NG+ mode, I don't know why, I guess that in this mode the game switch to hard mode but I don't guess you'll note the differences. Ahh and another thing, always you can re-digivolve your digimons or you'll have a little problem with a requirement called ABI, f*ck that thing.
Anyway recommended to every fan of digimon, this is the game that the name deserves!

This was such a waste of potential. I love the Digimon universe and this had so much potential to be a very fun VITA title but unfortunately, its gameplay was very repetitive and too reliant on grinding.

I liked the fact that this had tons of Digimon to play with but there was not much encouragement in doing so thanks to its unimpressive story and lackluster gameplay. Decent title if

The game looks fantastic and feels like it was designed specifically for the PS Vita. Capturing the essence of what Digimon is, Cyber Sleuth is the Digimon game fans have been waiting for.
