Mar 21, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus is an incredibly accurate recreation of a modern console fighter, and suffers very little in the transition from the big to little screen.
-
Mar 26, 2013The Vita has become a surprisingly good system for fans of fighting games, and DOA5+ is an excellent edition to the family.
-
May 8, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus is another stellar fighting option for the Vita.
-
Apr 21, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus is one of the best fighting games for the Vita and everyone who is interested in the genre should check it out as soon as possible.
-
Apr 1, 2013With a variety of different attacks that can also be chained together and some great offline and online modes, this game is definitely bordering on one of the best fighters on this console.
-
Mar 27, 2013The content packed into this cart is impressive. The story mode is deep, the fighting is tight and the visuals are gorgeous. The game also packs enough new material to make it worth checking out as a double dip for fans.
-
Mar 25, 2013This is the total fighting game package. Many game modes, plenty of customization options, dozens of characters and stages, and satisfying online play. Touch Fight is the only mode I would not recommend.
-
Mar 31, 2013The visuals, the sound, and the amount of depth that this fighting game has really makes it worth looking at for any gamers on the run. Simply put, Dead or Alive 5 Plus is not only a solid fighter, but a really good PS Vita game too.
-
Mar 27, 2013Much like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, this is a textbook example of a fighting game port done properly. Dead or Alive 5 Plus is the genuine article, matching and occasionally surpassing its excellent console brethren in nearly every regard.
-
Mar 19, 2013It's a pleasure having such a game on PSVita. The quality is pretty much the same we've seen in the console versions, with some nice additions and the lack of the 2v2 mode.
-
Apr 10, 2013The story, tutorial, tag-team, online, and general combat are all great features, and the gameplay always runs along at a gloriously solid frame rate. And overall, it’s still an accessible yet relatively deep fighter that offers plenty of bang for your buck.
-
Apr 4, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus sets the bar pretty high for 3-D fighters on the Vita. Flawed mode aside, it is a compelling port of a home console title that sacrifices very little to reach parity.
-
Mar 29, 2013Looking as nice and with as much content as on desktop consoles, Dead of Alive 5 Plus doesn't lose anything in terms of gameplay, a gameplay which will appeal to both combo fans and boob fans looking for panties. Surely it's not as sexy as Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volley-Ball but the hawtness is intensively present in the DLC's...We ask for more!
-
Apr 3, 2013If you already own another version of Dead or Alive 5, there isn't enough new material here to recommend a purchase unless you are die hard fan and want a portable version.
-
Mar 22, 2013Even with these warts, Dead or Alive 5+ probably takes my vote for the best Vita fighter out there. It avoids the graphical problems and slightly stiff gameplay of Mortal Kombat, the too easy bent of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and the spamming super moves of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. It even manages to easily outclass the 3DS launch title Dead or Alive: Dimensions, a game I actually had a lot of fun with.
-
Apr 6, 2013A revised version of the famous Team Ninja portable fighting game brings us all that was good in the desktop version. This handheld game comes with a new game mode which makes good use of the touchscreen and its cross-platform online with PlayStation 3 manages to multiply our range of opponents by two, thus increasing the amount of hours we'll spend playing it.
-
Apr 29, 2013If you are in the market for a portable brawler, consider this one of the best options currently available.
-
Apr 10, 2013Dead or Alive 5 + is an excellent port. This PS Vita version offers superb graphics and the gameplay is identical to the PS3/Xbox 360 versions.
-
Apr 4, 2013DOA5+ is a must-have for PS Vita owners, as it has a lot of content you don’t normally get with other games in the genre – and it’s portable.
-
Apr 2, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus comes as an excellent port of the home console version.
-
Apr 2, 2013Dead or Alive 5+ succeeds with arresting visuals, expansive console-quality modes, unique touchscreen gameplay, and the reliable replayability of a fighter, all in your pocket. The opportunities for awkward sexual innuendo and self-incriminating details in this review abound, but play DoA5+ for yourself and find a capable, feature-complete fighter with great portable visuals and a few bells and whistles to improve upon the console release.
-
Apr 1, 2013Play control is never hampered by the more cramped constraints of the small button layout, graphics aren't sacrificed on the smaller screen, and just about everything from the feature-rich home version is included here, with a few noticeable exceptions.
-
Apr 1, 2013The game looks and sounds incredible on the smaller platform, and that’s not just a testament to the handheld’s power, but also a testament to Team Ninja’s ability to create a quality title.
-
Mar 28, 2013If you’re looking for your first fighting game on Vita, the fast and accessible gameplay combined with rock solid netcode makes Dead Or Alive 5 Plus an easy choice.
-
Mar 26, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus is a great porting of a solid fighting game. Cross Play is the perfect feature to use in order to share the Team Ninja-powered fighting experience with a big fanbase. The Touch Combat mode is a gimmick, but other features grant hours of intense and entertaining gameplay.
-
Mar 20, 2013Thankfully, Tecmo Koei rises above that with an addictive beat-em-up that's bound to become a personal favorite, especially if you grew up playing the original on PSOne, moved on to DOA 2 on Dreamcast and the sequels that followed. Of course, if you're a newcomer, there's plenty to like about this pulverizing brawler.
-
Mar 20, 2013Those who haven’t experienced the original incarnation of the game will find Plus to be the premier version, and the fact that it’s the handheld rendition of a graphically-intense six month old game makes that fact alone worth the price of admission.
-
Mar 19, 2013Dead or Alive 5 Plus is spectacular, balanced and has fluid gameplay like the original game. Some additions are good idea, but others such as touch screen controls are poor. Netcode and crossplaying works well, but nowadays PS3 servers are pretty deserted.
-
Mar 20, 2013A near-perfect port of DOA5 for the Vita. If you want to play DOA5 on the go, then by all means pick it up. The game has a few extra bells and whistles, but none of them are worth buying a portable copy for if you weren’t looking to buy one already.
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxAug 25, 2013It is difficult to write a review on a Dead or Alive game and not comment on the nice bounce to the chest that the majority of the female cast seems to have. Especially if you are playing on a handheld with a giant touch screen. [May 2013, p.90]
-
Games Master UKMay 9, 2013While the story is ridiculous, the action between cut scenes is as smooth and addictive as ever. [June 2013, p.83]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKApr 23, 2013Underneath the ever-jiggling and moaning surface, Dead or Alive 5 Plus is a solid and addictive fighter with plenty of compulsive brawling to enjoy on handheld. [May 2013, p.115]
-
Apr 8, 2013Although PLUS is a competent port of Dead Or Alive 5, it doesn’t add quite enough to warrant a re-purchase.
-
Apr 5, 2013Sure, the PS Vita version lacks some content compared to the console versions, but this is still an enjoyable fighting game with great controls.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaApr 3, 2013Let’s not pull any punches. This PS Vita version features the exact same pugilism, panty-service and pendulous paired appendages of Dead or Alive 5 on PS3, just in the palm of your questionably-callused hands. [May 2013, p75]
-
Apr 8, 2013A good quality port that maintains almost all the original features, and even adds a few of its own, but the game itself is still a disappointing and unadventurous sequel.
