    Really, the only good thing I can say about Battle Rockets is that it must be a labour of love, because it’s only on the Vita. Personally, as someone who has played the Vita for far more hours than most people, I feel like that’s enough to make the game worthwhile, but for anyone who isn’t a diehard Vita completionist, Battle Rockets is more an oddity worth noting than something worth playing.

    While Battle Rockets is an inventive use of the PSVita to facilitate local multiplayer Shmup battles, it’s just not very fun. That’s especially true of the single player content. The offensive abilities, different for each character, will keep the multiplayer fresh for a little while. In the end though, this game is far too bare bones and lacks depth or longevity.

However, if you have a friend who likes shooters, those 3 gameplay modes and 8 characters can prove quite addictive for a while. I'd love to see differentiated arenas to increase the fun in multiplayer but being able to set your own rules like using only a given type of skill can prolong the fun to some extent. Oh, and don't forget - in Battle Rockets you should hold the Vita vertically.… Expand
