Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk is a more complex game than initially appears, with a nuanced and interesting setting and narrative. At the same time it's supported by likable characters, clean gameplay and a traditional JRPG combat system that hits all the right notes. It's GUST at its most insightful, and it's arguably the finest game on the PlayStation Vita.

It may look like all the others that have come before it, but play it for any length of time and you'll quickly find that it's anything but.

Not the best in the series, but packed full of new exclusive extras that make a return visit well worth it. [March 2015, p80]

Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk is the ultimate version of the original for Playstation 3. It offer interesting new contents, although Spanish isn't one of them. If you already have the original games, there won't be many reasons to get it.

I enjoyed my time with Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk. From the fun, turn-based combat system to the deep crafting and alchemy system, The Alchemist of Dusk offers many hours of gameplay. Not only that, but the PS Vita version of the game looks surprisingly nice and has a lot of extra content, although that sometimes can at the cost of the frame rate, which does drop significantly in certain areas.

We get more content in a portable experience. It's not a revolution, but it keeps the soul of the series.

Another great RPG port from PS3 to PS Vita. The new features added are a welcome plus.

More items, more crafting, missions, Final Bosses, characters and costumes, but basically the same game that we played two years ago, this Atelier Ayesha Plus is certainly the definitive edition of The Alchemist of the Dusk, but it's better suited to new fans who haven't played the original yet, and die hard fans that love the lovely and sweet Ayesha Altugle.

Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk looks good and has a great crafting system, but it pales in comparison to Atelier Rorona.

An enhanced port of the PS3 role-playing game, the first entry of the Dusk trilogy and an affordable chance to initiate ourselves in this world.

Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk offers the perfect start for fledgling apothecaries. However, while its features are vastly improved over titles in the previous trilogy, its combat system is outshined by successor Escha & Logy. Thankfully, for those playing exclusively on the Vita, this issue can be cast aside, and you'll find an in-depth storyline with oodles of character development here.

While this feels considerably inferior to the PlayStation 3 version, and it's still worth checking out if you missed it the first time around.

Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk is a solid port from Gust, which adds another Atelier game to the PlayStation Vita.

Even with the story's odd consistency and dialog was translated by an all-work-no-play intern, the mechanics make up the difference and make this a fun time-waster.

A solid JRPG, which suffers from the occasional frame rate drop; it seems the developer Gust were so focused on adding costumes, they neglected to optimize it for the PS Vita’s hardware.

Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk doesn’t significantly subtract from or add to the original 2013 release. It does, however, incorporate some new elements that do just enough to make this the more complete edition of the game. It still lacks depth due to Gust’s mission to streamline much of the series’ nuances so as to rope in new players and broaden the title’s appeal, sacrificing some of what gives Atelier its identity.

While some of the former issues remain, Atelier Ayesha still has a charm, feel, and execution to it that deserves another audience.

The Alchemist of Dusk manages to stand out from the rest of the Atelier series and serves as an excellent RPG option for anyone with a PS Vita.

epic game trully. the time limit is surely more lenient compared to the arland trio. combat is sleek and the graphics are top notch. soundepic game trully. the time limit is surely more lenient compared to the arland trio. combat is sleek and the graphics are top notch. sound track is AMAZING.

negatives include the fact it still can take a half day to gather one point and recycling of voice actors (willbels voice actor is the same as ceci's from atelier totori)

overall greatly recomended as the best atelier game in years.

It has an interestingAtelier Ayesha Plus is a fun light-hearted adventure, while still keeping a sad melancholic feel in the ambiance. It has an interesting story and characters, a great soundtrack and a combat system that is simple but can be challenging to master. There's even an added Hard mode for those seeking a more difficult game.
Although, this has the worst framerate of the Atelier Vita games. Noticeable frame drops in certain areas occur. The game features dual audio if you prefer Japanese voice acting over the English cast. Both voice options sound great which is rare, it's usually one or the other that ends up being good. Highly recommend for JRPG fans as this is the perfect game to jump in to the Atelier series if you haven't, it's the start of the Dusk trilogy.
