Mar 5, 2026Visual Concepts has done it again, delivering a phenomenal experience and a solid entry with WWE 2K26. Thanks to the new modes, 'The Island' experience, and an overall layer of polish, it provides WWE fans with a fully realized product boasting incredible visual fidelity.
-
Mar 5, 2026I'm giving this a 95/100, but if the few little bugs are ironed out then it's as close to perfection as a wrestling game has ever been.
-
Mar 6, 2026WWE 2K26 is a great move forward for the series and the developers have laid down a lot of exciting groundwork that can be expanded upon in future games. The grind is still as bad as ever, though, and the Ringside Pass needs to be changed so the DLC wrestlers can be earned much earlier than they are now. Those issues aside this is a WWE game that I will absolutely be playing through most of this year.
-
Mar 5, 2026I tip my hat to the developers for how they are continually able to improve every year. Sure, it’s not a perfect game, but objectively, I believe that WWE 2K26 is the best wrestling game ever made, and that’s the bottom line, because I said so.
-
Mar 5, 2026Despite those issues, the wrestling in WWE 2K26 is outstanding, and the depth of the roster and the updates to the array of modes make this game considerably better than last year’s version. Considering last year’s game was already stellar, it only makes WWE 2K26 that much more impressive.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 is an impressive game that captures the magic of WWE. It's three games in one, maybe even four, each with remarkable depth and each enriched with a host of new features in this edition. There's always room for improvement, but this is one of the highest peaks in the series.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 is one hell of a game, featuring tons of variety across matches and how they play out as well as game modes, giving players plenty of freedom to enjoy.
-
Mar 6, 2026WWE 2K26 refines its formula with more solid gameplay, a deeper MyGM mode, and a polished presentation. The arrival of AAA adds value, although microtransactions remain its biggest weakness.
-
Mar 11, 2026So no, WWE 2K26 isn't the Best in the World, but it still does a mighty fine job, sorta like when Randy Orton faced Edge in "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" at Backlash 2020, it wasn't the greatest wrestling match, but it was very good-and so to is WWE 2K26.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 undoubtedly represents the most complete evolution of the formula built over the past few years. Without overturning the foundations of the series, Visual Concepts expands nearly every aspect of the experience: new match types, a more dynamic presentation system, improved physics, and a massive roster all contribute to creating one of the richest entries in the franchise’s history. The result is a game that captures the spectacular spirit of WWE wrestling better than ever before, and one that shows extremely promising signs for the years to come.
-
Mar 5, 2026Without reinventing the formula, WWE 2K26 shows that the franchise has reached an exemplary level of maturity among sports games. The subtle gameplay improvements, the inclusion of new fight types, the exciting Showcase starring CM Punk, and the good replayability of MyRISE make this one of the most complete editions in the series. Despite this, monetization practices continue to plague fans, especially those who want to get the most out of the title.
-
Mar 10, 2026WWE 2K26 has a nice balance between adding new elements and tweaking its formula while respecting what has worked for years. Each year, it demonstrates why the series is the best wrestling simulator on the market, and this time it gets so close to realism that there are even a couple of annoying things. Clearly, it's an imperfect title, but the elements that work fine are pure quality.
-
Mar 10, 2026WWE 2K26 nails the theatrical chaos of wrestling inside the ring, even if many of its surrounding modes still feel sluggish and awkward.
-
Mar 9, 2026The Island makes its return this year, and seeks to persuade sceptical players to hop into its multiplayer world, joining one of three, Superstar-lead factions for wrestling dominance. While it's to be commended that voice acting, the bonkers Scrapyard match, and additional character customisation options have been added, we experienced several crashes throughout, plus it still smacks of money grubbing to us, so your mileage may vary...Equally, the Battle Pass-style changes to DLC and general unlocks could prove divisive, and not all wrestler likenesses are created equally. In spite of these shortcomings, however, WWE 2K26 is another strong effort from 2K and Visual Concepts, and one not to be missed by wrestling fans.
-
Mar 6, 2026WWE 2K26 offers a little something for everyone. With the biggest roster to date and more match choices than ever before, wrestling has never felt so good. Sadly, animation and face-scanning issues put a pin in the fun very quickly. Some objects and match types could be more responsive to player input.
-
Mar 6, 2026Beautiful, new, returning, but also more questionable choices that will make this annual episode a very good vintage, unfortunately marred by a formula that is increasingly similar to that of its basketball cousin.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 is still the heavyweight champion of the scene; the series does not disappoint with loads of content across multiple varied modes of play. It features the largest roster of past and present Superstars of the series, despite a handful of those sitting behind a grind. Questionable micro-transactions still exist, but the gameplay is still solid and competitive, and there are several new features that help with immersion and presentation. It’s a worthy entry to the series, even if we are not exactly reinventing the wheel.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 has established itself as one of the best recent games in the series, offering enough new features to satisfy fans and a standout Showcase mode, though it doesn't quite reach the legendary status of 2K14. Its wide variety of modes and stipulations makes it a very complete and enjoyable installment. However, the introduction of the Ringside Pass and the prevalence of microtransactions could generate controversy within the community.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 presents itself to fans of great pro wrestling as a revised and improved version of the previous game that smooths out some rough edges (while, unfortunately, leaving others unchanged) and further increases the enormous amount of content that has all the makings of keeping fans engaged for several hundred hours. If you're a fan of the discipline and want to get caught up in the fervor of WrestleMania Season, perhaps with a group of friends, WWE 2K26 could be just the thing for you.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 continues to maintain its streak of quality, and with its largest roster yet alongside meaningful additions to existing modes, it will undoubtedly keep players glued to their screens until the next installment. With that in mind, we’ll be expecting more fundamental changes and innovations next time around — and perhaps fewer elements like this year’s Ringside Pass system.
-
Mar 5, 2026While this game isn’t as much of an upgrade as its predecessor was, it still offers plenty for players looking to live out their wrestling dreams.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 will scratch that video game wrestling itch, with a Wrestlemania-sized offering of matches, modes, and wrestlers to choose from. Changes to the way things are unlocked are disappointing, turning the game into more of a grind than it should be, but the different formats you'll play in order to unlock those items rise above the grind. The Island continues to impress, while the MyGM and Universe modes allow you to get deep into the nitty-gritty of show planning in a way other wrestling games have yet to manage…WWE 2K26 is another championship-caliber entry in the franchise, but it still has a ways to go to become a Hall of Famer.
-
Mar 23, 2026WWE 2K26 gameplay is top notch and matches play out better than they ever have from entrances, commentary, presentation and the matches themselves are all improved. It’s a shame that the Ringside Pass brings down the overall product and locks too much behind it. Despite the items being on the free tier it takes way too much grinding to unlock wrestlers that were available from the beginning in last year’s entry. Even purchasing the more expensive deluxe versions does not give you any instant unlocks to the Ringside Pass, it all just screams money grab. Unfortunately, I have to recommend sticking with WWE 2K25 at this point until more updates are provided by 2K unless you’re a die-hard CM Punk fan. In closing, Larry Forever!
-
Mar 16, 2026We've reached a point where the franchise's excellence in terms of gameplay is unquestionable, and WWE 2K26 consolidates this once again flawlessly. The Showcase and MyGM offer very cool experiences to learn more about the history of the superstars and the structure of the shows. However, the insistence on microtransactions and the way the paid DLC was implemented in an in-game unlocking system is a step backward. This directly affects one of the series' main attractions, which is its extensive roster, alternating between current stars and legends from various decades.
-
Mar 13, 2026It’s all too easy for me to say that WWE 2K26 offers the best gameplay this series has ever seen. The moment-to-moment gameplay was already excellent, but the improved collision and physics manage to push the presentation even further. While not revolutionary, the new match types offer new ways to have fun and widen the suite for folks who are on the lookout for authenticity. While it’s wearing a little thin for me as a concept, this year’s Showcase is solid, and the MyRise and MyGM offerings continue to impress. Isn’t it a shame, then, that all I can think about when I look at WWE 2K26 is how much this game wants to nickel and dime me, just for being a wrestling fan.
-
Mar 12, 2026As the WWE 2K series churns out another game each year, they’re becoming tougher to remain enthusiastic about. Visual Concepts found a strong formula with 2K22 and has steadily iterated on that without rocking the boat too much, making for a consistent but gradually less exciting package each year. Starting with The Island’s debut last year, the VC infiltration is becoming irksome, especially in a package that already has multiple expensive editions and paid unlocks. Art is starting to imitate life – it’s never been more expensive to consume the WWE product, thanks to sky-high ticket prices and the pricey streaming subscriptions required to even watch everything. My feelings while playing 2K26 began to mirror my current relationship with the on-screen product: It’s still enjoyable, but the negatives are catching up to the positives.
-
Mar 6, 2026WWE 2K26 is loud, excessive, and delightfully crazy. Visual Concepts has chosen chaos as its mantra—certified by the presence of CM Punk—and the result is a game packed with content and new features. The problem is that beneath all this spectacle, the engine creaks, and some gameplay systems feel very old.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 improves the wrestling experience with more dynamic matches and smoother gameplay. The game offers new modes and content for wrestling fans. However, some of the storylines feel underwhelming, preventing the game from fully reaching its potential.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 offers a more well-balanced card than last year, including some welcome tweaks to core gameplay, fun new match types, and solid additions to most modes. As with most annualized sports franchises, a lot of the improvements feel rather piecemeal, and the addition of a grindy new Ringside Pass nearly pushes the game into the realm of NBA-2K-style over monetization, but this veteran franchise can still deliver thrills, for a price.
-
Mar 30, 2026WWE 2K26 still represents the best wrestling game on the market today, but it does very little to distinguish itself from last year's release. Combined with egregious monetization and the needlessly mundane grind across nearly every single game mode, and this year simply feels like a step back.
-
Mar 23, 2026WWE 2K26 plays it safe and it shows. This year's entry feels, in many ways, like a close relative of its predecessor. It tinkers with certain aspects of the gameplay and content with mixed results, stopping well short of anything that could be called a reinvention or even a meaningful leap forward. And yet, there's something about a WWE 2K game that keeps you coming back
-
Mar 18, 2026Being a yearly franchise, WWE 2K26 features the usual assortment of tweaks and upgrades to its many modes, and combined with its enhanced gameplay it makes for the most authentic wrestling experience yet. It's somewhat ruined, however, by a new Ringside Pass system that forces players to grind to unlock content. Unless they're willing to pay real money for tier skips, of course.
-
Mar 8, 2026WWE 2K26 still delivers entertaining wrestling action with plenty of content and familiar strengths inside the ring. However, the game is increasingly overshadowed by aggressive monetization, a slow progression system, and only minor gameplay improvements. While fans of the series will still find moments to enjoy, the lack of meaningful innovation and the heavy focus on microtransactions make this year's entry difficult to fully recommend.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 once again sees 2K improve on its yearly release, but like with other years, there's always a downside to go along with it. This year's MyRise feels undercooked, and the Ringside Pass locks paid DLC behind progression that takes an age to move forward. It's still a top-of-the-line grappler, but frustrating choices hold it back.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 is a brilliant wrestling game where it counts – but I recommend waiting a couple of months to purchase, to see how MyFaction and Ringside Pass rewards play out in the medium-term. For now, action in the ring is solid, and some of the best in the series, but it can sting when rewards feel so miserly and centered on monetization over skill.
-
Mar 23, 2026Despite fantastic gameplay improvements and a fun CM Punk Showcase, WWE 2K26 is ruined by predatory monetization. By locking standard DLC behind a grueling "battle pass" grind and selling tier skips to bypass it, 2K has prioritized greed over player experience. Even with its mechanical polish, the "pay-to-not-grind" tactics make this a disappointing entry to avoid until a major sale.
-
Mar 5, 2026WWE 2K26 is like a star that is ready for a push. It’s put in the work and has a great foundation. The roster is pretty stellar, the game modes are all there, and so many systems are in place. Now, it’s just about bringing them all together and taking that next step. No more Showcase, no more new match types. Focus on what you have and enhance it significantly.

Mar 20, 2026WWE 2K26 manages to maintain excellence, even if it does so by assuming that it will be a familiar experience with no surprises. [Recommended]
