Utterly tiresome, with puzzles that are either simplistic or needlessly convoluted and often drag on for far too long, WILL: Follow the Light falls short in its gameplay. Worst of all, for a title that positions itself as a narrative-driven experience, its story lacks any real impact due to mediocre voice acting, unnatural dialogue, and paper-thin characterization.

Ultimately, Will: Follow the Light has good ideas and great puzzles, but suffers from pacing issues, unrewarding exploration, and a structure that makes much of the experience more tedious than engaging.

WILL: Follow the Light is an imperfect game, frustrating at times and clearly limited in certain technical aspects. Its puzzles can disrupt the flow, the narrative structure is uneven, and some mechanics are clunky and tedious. But it’s also an emotional and surprisingly bold game, with moments—particularly the navigation sequences—that are exceptionally well-crafted. Beneath all its mechanical clumsiness lies a powerful story—one that can be completed in about 6 hours—about fatherhood, regret, and the fear of losing what we love most.
