Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn delivers a lot of extra content and manages to delve even deeper into the history of the people of Dehna and Rena, making it a mandatory DLC for anyone who loved spending hours on end helping Alphen and his friends in the main campaign.

Beyond the Dawn expands the story of Tales of Arise by 20 hours, which are effectively intertwined with the main game. Ideal for fans who don't expect any dye gameplay innovations.

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn might not be the most necessary followup ever made and you’ve seen this kind of story told in RPGs many times before, but it's still delightful nonetheless. Combat remains a blast, the story is thoughtful with a fantastic final boss, and the world feels like a realistic impression of what a year after global slavery would be like. Beyond the Dawn is exactly what it should be, nothing more and nothing less.

Tales of Arise: Beyond Dawn is too little too late. The expansion tells a somewhat predictable story amid tons of basic side-quests with basically no twists to the familiar gameplay: it's OK if you absolutely loved Arise cast and world building but otherwise skippable.

Beyond the Dawn builds on the strengths of Tales of Arise and offers a lot of scope for a DLC, but unfortunately little that is new.

At $29.99, I can only recommend Beyond the Dawn to Tales of Arise fans. If you liked the game, but everything I have mentioned does not convince you, wait better for a discount, where you can get this expansion at a more reasonable price. It's not bad, it's just that your admission is worth more than it should be.

Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn is a welcome revisit, providing a satisfying epilogue for those who value engaging character relationships and complete the sidequests. Nazamil is an exceptional new character who gives the expansion a unique identity. Unfortunately, the same gameplay issues from Tales of Arise persist, but they are not particularly egregious in practice. In all honesty, the price point for Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn may be too steep for what it offers, but it was undoubtedly crafted with care, so fans have nothing to fear in that regard.

With Beyond the Dawn, you can easily dive back into the world of Tales of Arise and experience the engaging dynamics between Alphen, Shionne, Rinwell, Law, Kisara and Dohalim. The world has been enriched with new monsters, dungeons and other small elements that encourage exploration and promise a good time.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn is a good opportunity to return to the role of Alphen and discover the facets of a new world that now only needs to be rebuilt. On the gaming side, unfortunately, something is missing and some new features could have been added, especially to draw a difference between the original chapter and the expansion, which is very useful only in narrative terms.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn is a great way to come back to the excellent 2021 RPG, giving fans the chance to revisit familiar places and faces while also taking a good look at a side of the classic world-saving hero story we don't alway see. It treads a lot of familiar ground, and it's somewhat awkwardly implemented, but it's well worth seeking out for franchise fans and anyone that enjoyed the main game.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn is a solid expansion that reminds us why this game was one of the best of 2021. However, the lack of playable novelties and a marked continuity may disappoint those looking for something new. Its story is remarkable, but we're still missing the refreshing factor that the base game presented.

Tales of Arise: Beyond The Dawn tells us what happened after the original adventure with a solid story and an endearing character, but fails to recycle everything else. While the storyline is good, the lack of new content makes us doubt the value of this new expansion. Tales of Arise: Beyond The Dawn is only for those who were left wanting to know what happened next, and are looking for a reason to return to the world of Tales of Arise.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn serves as a nostalgic reunion with beloved characters from years past. However, the necessity of additional closure remains a subjective matter, especially considering the already satisfying conclusion offered in the base game. It’s worth noting that Tales of Arise significantly contributed to elevating the long-running series into mainstream recognition. Beyond the Dawn seems more akin to a modest project. It’s a subtle reminder of the Tales franchise as it bridges toward an eventual next release. While not a groundbreaking expansion, Beyond the Dawn manages to carve out its space, offering both familiarity and a subtle nod to the franchise’s enduring legacy.

Overall, Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn is an expansion fit for the main game’s already fantastic base. Fans who enjoyed the original game will find themselves feeling the same way they did before. Fortunately, Beyond the Dawn ties it up with a simple yet effective bow. While it could’ve been neater, it delivers a worthwhile experience for big-time fans.

This earnest, occasionally awkward epilogue to Tales of Arise isn’t essential, but it packs enough delights to reward returning fans.

At the end of the day, Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn is the chance to spend more time with the Arise characters, and the experience is wrapped up in a lengthy DLC package. If you loved the cast of Arise enough that it's worthwhile to chill with them some more, then Beyond the Dawn may have its value. Beyond that, it doesn't add anything to the experience, especially with the hefty $30 price tag. If it were more tightly designed and more creative, it would've gone been more appealing, but as it stands, it's something for Arise faithful only.

The Tales of Arise DLC Beyond the Dawn still has that fantastic combat from the main game, but it doesn't bring a whole lot new to the proceedings.

Beyond the Dawn is a hefty expansion, but a lot of that heft is stuff you'll have already seen and experienced in the original game. While it doesn't go out of the way to explore a new perspective or shake up the formula of the base game, if you're a diehard fan of Tales of Arise, this DLC is a super rewarding trip down memory lane.

Beyond the Dawn isn't an especially exciting expansion, but it's still a solid post-game experience for those who enjoyed Tales of Arise. It's guilty of treading overly familiar ground, and the storytelling can feel a bit tedious, but there's fun to be found in exploring all-new dungeons and taking on powerful opponents. The DLC may be dropping too late for many players, but Alphen and the gang's epilogue is worth the return trip if you've got the time.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn feels like a missed opportunity. While the story held some potential, it doesn't go beyond passable at best, its uneven pacing and the lack of meaningful gameplay additions making the whole experience feel dull at times. As such, only die hard fans of the base game will find some value in what is, essentially, an extended prologue with limited appeal.

Tales of Arise: Beyond The Dawn is another chance to adventure with Alphen and the rest of the gang. Bosses are still too big, and said boss also have too much health. While it's not meant for everyone, fans will get exactly what they want from this expansion.

An unexpected and welcome epilogue to the events of the original Tales of Arise that fails to create a significant experience compared to the original game.

Honestly, if you want more Tales of Arise, just go play the base game again. It’s still fun to play and has better storytelling and characterization, along with the added bonus of being a full, complete game all on its own. The only people I can imagine enjoying this DLC are diehard fans who simply want “more” Tales of Arise and spend more time with the characters. If that’s what you’re looking for, you came to the right place, for better or worse.

This is really going to come down to how much you liked the base game. There are some severe things to be made aware of, such as no new characters, not using your save data, and so on. The content is a little thin, and a hefty price tag is going to make a lot of people look away. DLC is met with anger more often than not, and something like this with its price tag doesn't help repair that relationship. Those who really cannot get enough of the first game will probably be happy, but anyone else will feel like there is a lot missing.

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn explores life after the main story. However, it does so without adding anything substantial and the story feels rushed which makes this DLC hard to recommend even for fans of the main game (which is, in fact, awesome).

Beyond the Dawn was never going to be an epic on the scale of a full Tales release, but it’s sad that this is the last taste of Arise’s world that I’ll remember. A poor story with little reason to be told and virtually no new features at all make this hard to recommend. It may look the same as the main game on the surface, but the soul just isn’t there.
  27. Tales of Arise is a solid JRPG, if not the strongest Tales series entry. Beyond the Dawn is disappointing, even by the standards set by the main game. If, for some reason, you’ve read this review without playing the main game, rest assured that it’s decent fun. This DLC expansion, however, can be left out of your cart.
