Feb 27, 2025If you're in the mood for some hack and slash fun and are a franchise fan or simply love anime characters, you'll have an entertaining time with SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream for sure. It may get repetitive but you're sure to pick it up whenever you want a quick fix.

Oct 21, 2024Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream is a double-edged sword, so to speak. On the one hand, it captures the fast-paced action of the anime hit excellently in the multiplayer battles. However, newcomers to SAO may have their fun spoiled by the old-fashioned elements and repetitive missions.

Dec 17, 2024Fans of Sword Art Online will certainly be pleased with the concept, which diverges from other games in the franchise. It's not hard to feel captivated by following the journey of beloved characters from the anime world, like Kirito and Asuna. On the other hand, don't expect a bed of roses with Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream. The flaws are quite evident and might bother those looking for smooth and addictive gameplay. If you enjoy the anime but aren't a die-hard fan, it might be worth waiting for a sale.

Nov 12, 2024Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream is a competent offline and online RPG, with fun gameplay and plenty of fanservice. However, the title suffers from the simplicity of its missions and scenarios, as well as the repetitiveness of its activities and overly aggressive monetization.

Oct 22, 2024SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream is a love letter to the Sword Art Online franchise. You get to play your favourite characters from both Sword Art Online and Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online, in a story that unites both worlds. It’s compelling and it adds shock value, especially if you follow the anime or light novel. In addition, the multiplayer campaign is well-built as it encourages teamwork and knowledge of your chosen character. Lastly, there is an incentive to play the game over and over as the in-game achievements challenge you to achieve the highest score and learn what happens to your favourite characters.
-
Oct 21, 2024Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream is the first completely online title in the series, with games for up to 20 players, and it works quite well.
-
Oct 18, 2024SAO Fractured Daydream modifies its formula thru a new construction but still delivers a massive and enjoyable content and gameplay.
-
Oct 14, 2024As a tribute to the franchise it's not bad, but as a game in general, there are more interesting proposals on the market, whether it's a JRPG or a hack and slash. However, those who don't mind repetition can enjoy it. This is where the line is drawn to decide whether or not to buy the product.

Oct 7, 2024Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream is an SAO fan’s dream and an action RPG fan’s nightmare. While the rewards provide a nice dose of dopamine across each match, there’s not enough content here to justify fans of online action games to invest themselves in. The story might hold you for around 10 hours, but after that, you’re looking at hours and hours of grinding across the same handful of maps and missions, completing uncreative daily quests and begging for something new. Still, the action gameplay is incredibly addictive, but the support needs to show up as fans did on day one to witness the cringy emotional drama of SAO, one more time.

Nov 4, 2024This Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream is likely among the best titles dedicated to the series released in recent years, though it’s fair to say the bar was set quite low. Die-hard fans of the series will love the opportunity to experience a story that brings together all the main characters and to control a substantial number of them—twenty-one in total. However, the game also has several flaws, with repetitive missions featuring basic objectives and a combat system that settles for mere adequacy. Despite these issues, the multiplayer mode is enjoyable, especially thanks to boss fights that can be tackled by up to 20 players, turning the experience into a vibrant display of explosions and colors. Unfortunately, once the single-player campaign is completed and players delve into the game’s online component, the content runs out too quickly, leaving an endgame that feels sparse and underdeveloped. It’s a real shame for a game that had strong potential on the multiplayer side.

Oct 23, 2024Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream is undoubtedly a game made with tons of fan service, but that also leaves it a polarizing experience for newcomers. It captures the spirit of SAO with its engaging MMO-like experience, but the dated mechanics, repetitive gameplay, lack of polish, and narrative shortcomings leave much more to be desired.

Oct 21, 2024Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream shines in some departments but flops in others. I wish the game had concentrated more on the primary campaign because the story here is terrific, and with a few tweaks to the open map environment and battle mechanics, it could have been a quintessential play for any fan. But the multiplayer feels so half-baked and unrewarding that only hardcore fans will enjoy the long, tedious grind to grab every morsel item.
