    While Subnautica remains a brilliantly immersive and addictive survival adventure, the PS5 upgrade delivers less than we expected. Technically, the game is very similar to its successor, Subnautica: Below Zero, and yet falls short on both performance and visual quality in comparison. A free upgrade is always welcome, but perhaps Subnautica PS5 has automatically been made redundant by its superior sequel. Existing Subnautica players with a PS5 get a nice facelift, but there's little to justify this edition for newcomers.

    Although better texture upgrades and draw distances would have been a nice addition, (and they are still better than either PC or PS4), thisAlthough better texture upgrades and draw distances would have been a nice addition, (and they are still better than either PC or PS4), this is the best version of Subnautica that I have ever played. Mod support would have also been nice. They reworked the environments, lighting, and animal behavior, which makes for a nice change and helps it feel fresh. It is also much more stable than the PC version, which is also a great improvement. It's definitely worth checking out. This is one of the best crafting, survival, exploration games i've ever played, and this is the best version of it. No other game has captured the feeling of being trapped in an alien, underwater environment quite as well as Subnautica. It's scary, it's fun, and it's entertaining.… Full Review »

The ps5 is more then capable of handling far more complex games. Yet there are bugs, glitches , fps drops , lots of pop in. The game at one point was crashing on my every 1- 5 minutes . When it works it's an amazing experience. But due to the numerous issues I cannot recommend this unless you're extremely patient, because the game is still worth playing.… Full Review »
