Mar 13, 2024After two decades of advancements and innovation, Battlefront I and II still offer some of the most enjoyable gameplay in the shooter genre. Rich in content, new and old, the Classic Collection successfully brings two fan-favourite Star Wars games onto today’s hardware. The absence of a few modern creature comforts is disappointing, but it does little to weigh down an otherwise brilliant bundle.

Mar 13, 2024If you remember playing the original Battlefront I and II, you’ll love playing them again on new generation consoles. They’ve added Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress as well as multiple new maps that never made it into the originals. This definitely makes it worth it for any fan of these games or those wanting to see what all the fuss was about back in 2004/2005. Plus, with the ability to play multiplayer with friends and randoms, it’s going to be just like the simulations once again!

Mar 13, 2024Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings all the action of Star Wars battles back to consoles. With the mission to be fun, the game has interesting single player campaigns, a Galactic Conquest mode with a hint of strategy and a multiplayer filled with new maps. A collection made for longtime fans, but which also invites new ones to experience one of the most fun experiences in the Star Wars saga.

Mar 14, 2024Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection showcases how a streamlined yet content-packed shooter can still stand out today.

Mar 13, 2024Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection might not feature any updated visuals, but it features tons of content and enjoyable battles.

Mar 22, 2024Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection isn’t beyond redemption (one saving grace being that the game wasn’t steeped in the microtransaction controversy that accompanied the 2015 Star Wars: Battlefront release), and I think Aspyr realizes it, having announced a forthcoming patch to be delivered soon. This comes at a crucial moment for Aspyr, which lost out on the Knights of the Old Republic remake for Windows and PlayStation 5, and its parent company, Embracer, moving the project over to another studio. Aspyr, in turn, is under the gun to make Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection right, get the bug count down, and deliver the experience that was promised to an eager world of Star Wars fans. It wouldn’t be unheard of for a series of patches to make everything as it should be, but the uncomfortable question remains as to why this went out the door in the condition it was in the first place.
-
Mar 31, 2024At the end of the day that’s the chief purpose of these remasters: to offer fans a way to play these older Star Wars Battlefront titles on current consoles, with slightly spruced up visuals, and the option to play online. They’re still inherently rough around the edges and play a little clunky, but the Classics Collection does what it says on the tin, giving these beloved games a quick dip in the Bacta tank instead of attempting to forge them anew.
-
Mar 19, 2024Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection definitely needs some more time to bake in the oven with a few more patches and server updates. At its very core, it’s still a solid choice for Star Warsenthusiasts and those who enjoyed the original Battlefront games to experience a dose of nostalgia, but it’s difficult to look past the technical issues and bugs that currently plague it.
-
Mar 19, 2024Unfortunately, Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is yet another rough launch. What should have been an easy win on paper is regrettably hampered by technical issues, of-the-era design decisions that impact the experience today and a lack of significant updates. Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a straight-up port whose simplicity would be charming if not for the technical issues or the wide availability of the original games without these issues on Xbox and PC, with the latter getting the remaster treatment via mods. At their core, both Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Battlefront II remain fun to play even with the remaining jank from the era; it's just unfortunate that the collection they're in lacks polish. Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection scratches that nostalgia itch but doesn't elevate itself beyond that.
-
Mar 24, 2024Don't buy this game – at least yet! Star Wars Battlefront – Classic Collection is a troubled remake of beloved shooter-games. Server-issues, bugs and other problems harm the overall experience and overshadow the otherwise solid retro-gameplay.
-
Mar 28, 2024Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection's fun single-player missions can't elevate the beloved series above its many crashes, busted multiplayer lobbies, and outdated presentation.
-
Mar 20, 2024Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a reminder of how great these games were at the time they released, but it ultimately fails to do anything better for the players than the original releases did. As much as it breaks my heart, I find it hard to recommend this game to anyone in its current state.
-
Mar 20, 2024Fairly entertaining in single player. In multiplayer with nostalgic potential, but unfortunately behind in terms of play. Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection disappoints even die-hard fans and plays with retro feelings.
-
Mar 17, 2024Though the new aspects are welcome additions, it’s clear from the start that these games were not originally built for some of the new features and that perhaps the game could have benefited from other aspects such as an online multiplayer Galactic Conquest mode. At the end of the day, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a fun trip down memory lane but is likely to fizzle out in popularity, even if all player's concerns are resolved, once the initial nostalgia kick wears off.
-
Apr 4, 2024Classic Collection is so bad that it is actively driving people back to the original game as it bleeds players, and given that the original is less than a third of the price, I can't blame anyone for that. This is an unfinished, shoddy product that doesn't feel good to play, and that's if you can play it at all.
-
Mar 18, 2024Messy doesn’t even begin to cover the state that the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection launched in, and even though updates are rolling out to make things more tolerable, the ‘improvements’ are loaded with issues that only make matters worse. This might be the worst port since the Silent Hill HD Collection, so get ready to warn away newcomers until it’s fixed.
-
Mar 18, 2024Aspyr has done a serviceable, even admirable job with its porting of Star Wars titles up to this point, but the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection represents a monumental misstep and a much-deserved blemish on its reputation. These are two beloved games representing some of the very best experiences the Star Wars IP has ever offered. To release these remasters in this state is deeply concerning. Our only solace is the fact that, eventually, most of the problems should be fixable.

Apr 22, 2024I’m not one to come out and say the developers are lazy or anything naïve as that, but it definitely reeks of a decision from high management to push out a pre-loved game from yesteryear with as little effort as possible. And to be brutally honest, that sucks. Battlefront 1 and 2 deserved a lot more than this.
