Nov 17, 2025Its ridiculous advert starring David Hasselhoff isn't the only brilliant thing about SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. This is an excellent platforming adventure, featuring a great mix of character skills, fantastic level design and plenty of side quests. Even if you're not a fan of SpongeBob, there's a lot here to love.

Nov 17, 2025Despite its simple and shallow storyline, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide manages to charm with its fun and nostalgia.
-
Nov 17, 2025SpongeBob Square Pants: Titans of the Tide is a family-friendly platformer that excellently captures the humor of the TV show. Anyone who likes the underwear-wearing sponge will love it, even though the gameplay challenge for advanced and expert players only really comes into play in some optional features.

Nov 18, 2025Maintaining the high level of quality seen in previous titles, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide once again delivers a fun and engaging adventure. With very competent audiovisual production – especially the excellent dubbing – and really cool challenges – particularly in the platforming elements – we have one of those games that is a delight to play. Even though a few things could be better, it is still a great addition to your library, especially if you are a fan of the water-squirting yellow sponge.

AtomixDec 7, 2025If you're looking for something to pass the time, you'll definitely find it fun, as it has a considerable challenge and the mechanics are well-crafted, although not used to their full potential.

Nov 17, 2025SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide feels like a '00s-era 3D platformer in many ways and its sense of variety and constant fun with impressively intricate stage designs made me quite happy. It can be glitchy and confusing, though, so keep that in mind.

Dec 8, 2025Titans of Tide is another strong SpongeBob platformer from Purple Lamp and has plenty of fan service for those even slightly familiar with the cartoon. The Plankton Challenges are really fun, so it’s a shame that they are locked behind either busywork or microtransactions. As a total package it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Cosmic Shake or Battle for Bikini Bottom but it’s still a solid game.
-
Nov 17, 2025SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a fun, familiar dip back into the world of Bikini Bottom packed with charm, ghostly goings on but a fair bit of repetition. It’s comfort food for the nostalgic, but if you’re looking for something fresh beneath the waves, you might not find much treasure here.
-
Nov 17, 2025Even if Titans of the Tide is a little too short to make that kind of impact, it’s still easily the best SpongeBob game since Battle for Bikini Bottom, and possibly even better if you take off the Jellyfishing nostalgia goggles. I can only hope that Purple Lamp keeps it up, because it finally feels like it’s nearly cracked the Secret Formula.
-
Nov 17, 2025SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide isn't going to blow anyone away, but it's a perfectly decent 3D platformer that mostly captures the energy of the show. Swapping between SpongeBob and Patrick is a neat mechanic that's used very well throughout, and levels are big and varied as you explore Bikini Bottom and talk to its populace, all of whom are voiced by the proper cast. It definitely has some rough edges and some soft writing, and it won't win over any SpongeBob detractors, but it's a good all-ages game for both kids and longtime fans.
-
Nov 17, 2025Titans of the Tide is like a cold Krabby Patty. Edible for SpongeBob fans, but not fresh and with a bland aftertaste.
-
Nov 17, 2025The problem is that Titans of the Tide is pretty good if you’re only looking at it from a family-friendly perspective. If you’re looking at it compared to other 3D platformers on the market, though, it comes up lacking. As such, I would recommend this game to younger audiences and people who are diehard fans of the SpongeBob series, or if you’re someone looking for simple, mindless fun. If you’re looking for something more elaborate as a fan of The Cosmic Shake or other 3D platformers, though, you may be better off looking elsewhere for your Spongebob fix.

Nov 17, 2025Despite the pleasantries Titans of the Tide offers that makes it easy breezy and a fair old hoot for SpongeBob fans, you would expect this latest entry to improve on The Cosmic Shake, rather than behaving like a slippery sidestep. Unfortunately, Titans of the Tide is out of its depths because it comes across as an unfinished game that has some sparkling ideas, but the execution is hamstrung by its terrible camera and banal combat, platforming and puzzles. If you want to delve into another SpongeBob game this one might do just fine, but for everybody else Titans of the Tide is a titanic case of meh.
