    I had awful frustration in playing the game with that foolish fixed camera. I literally felt nausea and vomit stimulus. Stopped playing it after just half hour

    camera is locked and you lose sense of exploration, reducing so much the fun factor of moving freely around your character. The game is clone of Devil May Cry but it doesnt' succeed because it lacks charm, plot and design. The result is a poor representation of an action game with strong limitations (camera, stuttering during battles, poor upgrades) and recycled ideas

    Poor camera motion affects this game. You're not allowed to move the visual when roaming around, which is a bothering factor due to levels complexity and enemies getting stronger and stronger as long as you progress. Unfortunately this aspect jeopardizes all other aspects because gameplay gets troublesome all the time

    Great game! Missed old fashioned hack n slash vibes. Combat it's so fluid and weapons feel great to use. Of course it has its flaws but for me is 10/10. Brave team!

    ärligt talat, Soulstice är ett banalt spel. Den kan inte fånga dig, strid är rörig, dialoger är tråkiga. Men det största problemet är fasta kamerarörelser. Det begränsar mycket utforskningen av nivåer och huvudet gör ont!

    Reply Game Studios you should fire the person in your team who implemented that stupid fixed camera in Soulstice. It would have been truly a masterpiece without that cancer. Unfortunately, it's only a game to forget, one of the most annoying in gaming history

    I really wanted to like this game, I love DmC type games. But the game just isn’t that good. The combat is enjoyable and that’s about it, the level design is bland and repetitive, story isn’t good, camera angle I don’t think is as bad as other people are saying but it does feel outdated. This game would be worth on PS Plus maybe.

    Fantastic game, hack n slash that Remember Devil May cry series and where you have to practice so much to manage combo and combat system in general. It gives so much fan, and the dark fantasy atmosphere gives berserk and Claymore vibes, and this Is good!     Great, surprisingly deep combat, very dark and detailed atmosphere, nice voice acting, interesting plot and dialogues, meaty content with many missions. All that for 40 euros. We get full priced ""triple A"" garbage games for double the price. For me it's a masterpiece.     A very solid entry in the hack and slash arena. Gorgeous character design, tense combat, and a great story to boot. Soulstice also features a really cool dual-character mechanic with a fairly robust skill tree for one of the characters with no respec penalties, which is pretty nice when it comes to combat experimentation. Fans of the genre will not want to pass this up!

    The game, for how much it costs and what it offers (It is not made from a triple A and I don't remember they ever compared it to triple A games) it works, it is entertaining and it is visually beautiful. Clear has flaws but I don't think it's something that ruins the game.

    Great art style and amazing cinematics, it's a spectacles for eyes!
    Combat pace and camera management can be improved, but it's really satisfying slashing everything.

    c'est une mauvaise imitation de Bayonetta et DMC. La caméra est inconfortable et fixe, lorsque le personnage bouge, vous avez la nausée. Les visuels sont incohérents et irritants, donc déplacer Briar et Lute est un cauchemar. De plus, l'interaction avec les autres personnages est basique et plate. Il n'a pas l'ironie de DMC dans le style, les caractéristiques des personnages et lac'est une mauvaise imitation de Bayonetta et DMC.     Some people compare this game to the Devil May Cry series, however it is very far from that. The main characters are arguably the worst part. They have no charisma and are written very poorly. The combat is repetitive and the graphics are merely serviceable. Sound is ok as is the enemy designs. However the game feels rushed with a some bugs. Perhaps this can be fixed with a patch. The comparison flashy and addictive and the world is gorgeous...One of the best parts of the journey is the characters and story. I really got into the main character and her ghost sisters plight, the voice acting really shines here.. There is a big learning curve for it but it is not for you if you just want mash buttons.

    It is an old fashion game with new improved and well implement ideas. the two characters' idea really worked for the dynamic of the game.

    I am enjoying this game. The camera is annoying as so many current games we have become used to a free roaming camera but for someone who has played games since PS1 era this is not a deal breaker. The graphics are interesting, the gameplay is fast and fun and very challenging and I think it has a great system that makes it similar to but gives it it’s own flair compared to DMC orI am enjoying this game.     Heavily underrated. Who ever criticise it comparing it to DMC hasn’t beat the game. It’s a masterpiece and people are acting as if is a bland copy. The first 2 hours might be a bit stiff if you want every move immediately, but when it picks up it’s a blast. Must. Buy.

    I love this game. It reminds me a lot of dmc3 (one of, if not my favorite single-player game) and the old school god war games. Combined with elements from two of my favorite animes (Berserk and Claymore), it is like a chef's kiss.

    Camera ruined the game and no option to muffle Lute. Put down on last section unable to properly gauge jumps.will not play again unless there is a fix. Really bad.

    Soulstice is a game very much appeals to me on a superficial level. It takes inspiration from some of my favorite manga and games, such as Nier Automata, Claymore and Devil May Cry. This shows most in it's narrative, art direction, combat and level design.

    The game however takes a nose dive. Despite good visuals and art style, the levels drag on and are longer than they need be. It all gets tiring to see after a period of time and isn't hard to get lost. There are no mechanics to help navigate the player in the correct path either, unlike one of the games [DMC] it takes inspiration from, which went on to incorporate such mechanics. This is the majority of the game's 21 chapters too.

    You are given a plethora of weapons to deal with enemies, with some of them being more effective against different enemy types than others. This is something that I like because it incentivizes the player to change tactics and use different weapon types against enemies. The bow for instance is highly effective against flying enemies and the gauntlet makes work of enemy shields and armor.

    Some enemies however don't emit proper feedback when getting hit, namely hitstun which is non-existent on them until getting staggered. Tales of Arise also suffered from this, albeit more egregiously. In Soulstice's case it's not every enemy but a good enough portion of them. In an attempt to stagger the enemy, it turns the game into a button masher. This is all while utilizing Lute (the game's secondary protagonist) to ward off surrounding enemies. This extends to a smaller, humanoid boss too, which didn't stagger at all, if I recall.

    The hard lock-on is also poorly implemented. It doesn't interfere with the camera though, unlike a similar game that released 3 days later that stars a certain Valkyrie, but is difficult to see on screen so I quit using it. Soft lock-on is most preferable.

    The story's is what it is. In ways main protagonists Briar & Lute are reminiscent of Rafaela & Luciela. That same dynamic also plays out similarly with another pair of characters in the game too. And like Claymore, the game has it's equivalent of awakened beings and handlers, which I thought was cool.

    I plan to return to the game someday, and me playing it on hard mode probably wasn't the best choice to begin with.    … Expand

    The backgrounds look beautiful colors and the diff it feels almost like you're looking at paintings it's just you make me feel so XO

    But the problem with the game is the level design is too long and you have to hunt for upgrade materials all over the place which in this kind of fast-paced action game gets really tedious.     This is the new thing but the main character design looks weird like in the eyes way to big and I think the female characters close Look so weird for this action game. Why isn't she wearing a proper armor instead of this sexy get up.

    the only bad thing i can say about the game is the combos they lack a lot of diversetry plus the story is a bit meh but the game is a cool start for the devs and very enjoyable to play for people who want the classic hack and slash experience

    in conclusion i recommend this game but only on a discount its a really cool third person hack and slash throw back game but nothing more nothing less

    and because of that for better or worse my final score to this game is a 7.5 out of 10    … Expand

    The first couple hours is very reminiscent of the original God of War. Which, I actually really did enjoy. I had the thought, "Oh, I'm going to really like this game." But... as I sunk more hours into it I was not only getting bored quickly but frustrated. Not because it was hard or anything, I actually couldn't tell you why I was. I've been thinking about it, and I just found my enjoyment of the gameplay dying pretty quickly. I liked the two main protagonists, the story was interesting and I could tell they put some care into the world they were building. I actually wanted to see where the story went but I didn't want to have to actually play it anymore to get there. In the beginning hours I really wanted to give this game an 8. But unfortunately the more I played the more I disliked. I'm going to have to give this a 5. A game that perfectly defines the meaning of the word, "Meh".    … Expand

    Eu gostei do jogo de forma geral. Mas o funcionamento da camera me fez quitar no capitulo 21. Simplesmente inaceitavel o quão mal feito é o comportamento da câmera. Certamente é a pior que já vivenciei em um jogo. Uma pena, pois não tive condições de concluir o jogo...

    El juego a pesar de tener pequeños problemas con la cámara es divertido de jugar, mecánicas entretenidas y diferentes formas de acabar con enemigos para que no sea simplemente machacar botones.

    Soulstice is a strong entry to the action RPG market, and a great showing for its young development studio. It manages to ride a fine line of providing a considerable yet fair difficulty to players of varying skill levels while also including many options for die-hards to ratchet up the challenge far beyond what a standard campaign requires. At the same time, it establishes an intriguing new gameworld that provides a satisfying first outing while leaving the door wide open for future adventures. It may not immediately aspire to the same household-name status as some of its sources of inspiration, but fans of the genre would be hard-pressed to not find plenty to enjoy here.
