I am really happy they keep making those games.

This one has a wonderful setting, a open world with a lot of details, great music that never gets on your nerves and beautiful designed interior spaces. I really enjoyed it and hope they will make more Sherlock Holmes games in the future.

Отличная история и отдельно стоит отметить просто потрясающе красивый открытый мир, очень надеюсь что в будущем от этого не откажутся. A potentially interesting game ruined by a stupid off-center camera. Devs, put the character in the center of the screen.

So far I've been playing for almost 8 hours and it's really good. The open world looks amazing on pc. The puzzles are so far great and I love the story. I've already played some side quest's and they're pretty good. I love the Sherlock disguises and home renovations mechanics.

And about humor/trolling - there is no much of that but when there is it's very wittily but not all understand that.

There are some minor drawbacks of this game but all of them are because the game is AA and not AAA. With bigger budget I believe Frogwares will create a perfect game about Sherlock Holmes.

    Looking forward for that!

If they had went for something like unchartered like gun battles in large areas it'd have saved the combat. I wouldn't say to turn it off a number of trophies are related to combat, luckily you can switch on combat and still skip every battle in the main story (holding square - in terms of combat it counts as if sherlock didn't kill anyone).

I'd visit the bandit hideouts instead (get that trophy) and the trophies for the combat in them, it doesn't take long and you'll find them during the main story and side cases anyway without much exploration.

Yes you can dress up sherlock, but really considering you have to buy a number of furniture etc items for the mansion (for that trophy), don't over spend. At most you just need 4 costumes and one of those you are only able to buy during one particular main case. They could have done much more with the mansion and upgrades but it's passable. You'll be visiting the Police Station and Newspaper place a lot more though, also don't forget City Hall has an archives too.

If you experience any bugs in the game, it's probably because you missed an item or in one case didn't pick up an invisible item next to some paint. Honestly they should have just blindfolded you in that one.

Sherlock does not have an affinity of water, so if you fall in that you will die and respawn at the nearest travel point (if you haven't unlocked the nearest one, it'll automatically unlock so don't expect to be flung to the other side of the map).

Do not mention the 3 treasure cases, the less said about them the better. You get a photograph that you must find on the island, and then... you gotta find a tiny wooden box. Oh the frustration is real.

If in doubt during investigations, hit the options button and go to the save side "how to play" is there, that'll remind you what the symbols all mean (usually it's the concentration and pinning things that lets the game down). In the chemical mini game "hit R2" which will describe the other measures you can play with when the unlock like making a positive solution a negative.

Story wise, you'll be glad Jon is there. He's not exactly Watson but his quips and comments will keep you entertained if the frustration hits. The story is pretty much average, typical sherlock; over the top dramatic especially the ending. But the side cases, mycroft cases and the Cordona stories have got their own charm. My favourite being a street performer who can totally deduce sherlock. You can also let a guilty party off, or arrest them. So don't be afraid to let a siren off the hook, or an artist be given a new lease on life.

Save often. I've yet to come across a PS5 game that doesn't eventually cause a crash. Although this game only crashed once. I wasn't saving, luckily the game does autosave every now and then. Also do as many of Jons bets as possible, they usually net you a trophy bar one.

It'll take you between 12-18 hours if you want the plat, it took me 16 hours but i wasn't playing attention to the trophies to begin with and missed one right at the start. Only once the credits flashed did i go back to my saves and knock them off. There is a part in the game where jon warns you of a "point of no return" it's fairly obvious.

If the game was a full priced PS5 game at £70, this review would be a 4. But it cost half that, and it's better than the most recent COD campaign i've just played. I grew fond of Jon, and in the epilogue i like what they managed to do with that. Don't expect waves being made here, and you can skip the science part without fear of trophies. Those became way too convoluted by the end.

An open world game (bare bones as it is) where you solve cases, is certainly entertaining but they could have done so much more. See if they just forgo the combat in Chapter 2, and focused more on cases and incidents around London. They could probably nail it.

I just hope it sells well because the studio have put there heart and soul into this and it shows in this game. Yes it’s not ground breaking graphics or game play but is so worth playing IMO. It makes a change to the constant shoot me ups that everyone seems to want. I’d say this game def suits someone with a mature attitude. I can from the get-go just admit that I'm biased writing this review, since I want to encourage all developers within this genre to continue producing detective games, especially such an experienced studio as Frogwares. With that said, I can recommend this to any sleuth out there looking for a fix.

With that said, I can recommend this to any sleuth out there looking for a fix.

The general gameplay is well crafted and provides an appropriate challenge and suspense in most of the mysteries. There are several new mechanics that gives anyone the prerequisites to feel like a genuine gumshoe. However, they have thrown in a horrendous combat aspect of the game which is just as repetitive as it is comically... bad. Thankfully it appears seldom in the main story, but for all non-trophy/achievement purposed, stay clear of the bandit lairs! As for the "open world" part of it all, I'd refrain from calling it open world, and I think a lot of the backlash against the game comes from creating the expectancy of some sort of GTA/RDD world with endless side hustles. What this game provides is a looser transition between missions, where the "open world" just serves as a way to choose in what order you want to tackle the story.

The game as a whole is actually beautiful, but the scenery has very obviously come at the expense of hiring an animations team. I'm fully aware that this is far from a triple-A title, but at times its resemblance to N64 Donkey Kong is almost frightening. The cutscenes are (thank god) given a bit more love animation-wise, but the fish-mouth speaking animations are a tad immersion-breaking in my opinion. But the pure amount of content is awesome for a game of this genre, and almost all of the side missions are worth playing (some of them are almost the length of a main mission). The main story itself is excellent and will keep you guessing until the very end. All in all it's a very entertaining game, which in many ways sets a new standard for the genre, but unfortunately in some other ways fall flat.

PS. Not incorporated in my review score is the horrific day 1 DLC, which both in principle and in execution shouldn't exist DS.

I bought this on a sale, and that was my best deal this year. I really like this game for so many reasons. In my opinion this game is a good fresh start for Sherlock games. Open world was small but big enough. No navigation only tips with street names bought me couse it’s not super easy but not super hard for older gamers with no that much time to play games. Can’t wait for the next ones.

The story of this game is worthwhile, as it sheds a new perspective on the famous detective. In addition, there is a nice environment, which is complimented with great gameplay and good audio/voice acting. That said, the fight scenes get boring quickly, frame drops are noticeable and the graphics are not of the highest order. The game also lacks structure due to the many side missions, but it is nevertheless an adventure that will entertain you.
