Jan 21, 2025Take the magic of NBA Jam’s gameplay, trade NBA players for robots with abilities, toss in some roguelite systems, give it stop-motion-style animation, and BOOMSHAKALAKA – you’ve got yourself a slam dunk.

Jan 27, 2025Whether you're playing RoboDunk for its distinct solo roguelike campaign or via local multiplayer, you'll end up having a grand time.

Feb 3, 2025RoboDunk is surprisingly compelling. Despite the toy-like appearance of the robots themselves, the sport shows enough depth to be engaging. The controls are consistent, rules are easy to grasp and the progression is very propulsive. I do find some hazards and opposition frustrating but there's a steady climb to each run. They also feel quick, even if they can contain over a dozen contests. I keep coming back and that's a testament to how well put together this is.

Jan 27, 2025And that’s kind of the bottom line: RoboDunk works quite well on a functional level. Its dunk-centric basketball is a quick, enjoyable snack. Its toy-like aesthetic and minimalistic stop-motion animation is effective. However, the framework just doesn’t support it quite right. Barring my (possible superficial) thoughts about robo-dunkers, the roguelite setup doesn’t provide a compelling experience. It’s a decent game to pick up and play, but it’s not the slam dunk it should be.
