I'm in love with this game and I hope it becomes more popular because it deserves it.

If I had the opportunity to talk with the developers, I would tell them to put more sports in it like scooters, roller skates, boats or jet ski, iceskating...or funfair games...because anything can be put in this game like those sport tools I mentioned.

The only negative part is the shop is very expensive, so if you wanna buy some new clothes...it's really expensive.

    But in overall 10/10

This game is not a lets chill and explore, this is a grind for stars or your gear is terrible, slow, and downright frustrating. Ubisoft purposefully makes your experience terrible with the carrot dangling with promises of "legendary" gear. BUT, it's RNG...grind, grind, grind...oh, you didn't get anything but cash (you can't even spend because their shop is bare, unless you spend real money on microtransactions), KEEP GRINDING! This is a gacha game disguised as a AAA experience. BUT wait, they do add some cool new toys for you to explore and have fun with...but for a price. It's full of cheesy one liners that Americans may find cool but us brits just don't like. It treated me like I was an eight year old. Maybe that's the audience it was aimed at. Probably decent if i gave it a chance, but just not for me given the size of my backlog. Also, yet another ubisoft 'go to all the dots on the map' structure. For god's sake, when will they try a different style of game??? Expand

Uh, another one of these. I remember the disappointment when I played “Steep”, and this is more of that. The game starts out with some awful tutorial sequences. The game starts out with some awful tutorial sequences. Thankfully, the cutscenes are skippable. I hated ever word of the dialogue and all of the voice acting. “He’s totes leg, stomp that trick!”. Barf. The game looks fine, I guess. There are lots of on screen menus and glowing things to clutter up the experience. Despite the fast loading SSD of the PS5, the game will go to a dead stop to show you gear or new events you unlocked. The game mechanics are serviceable. The gaming industry has really run into a rut. Making a game that works just isn’t going to get more than 5/10 from me.

There is no avoiding a comparison with “Descenders”. The gameplay mechanics “Descenders” is just better. “Riders Republic” requires holding down a button until a rotation lines up with returning to the ground. “Descenders” properly has the player manipulate the sticks to freely rotate the bike. Many prior sports games, such as “Steep” had serviceable controls for performing tricks. I really rather play a remake of “SSX Tricky”. Most people would. In a couple of years, Ubisoft will release another extreme sports game with zero improvement in the controls and the genre will continue to stagnate.

The worst of “Riders Republic” is its awful push for DLC content. This is the same problem as Steep. I do not feel like I am playing a whole game. There is no career path or queue for races. You have to navigate this big open map with a fixed number of events unless you buy seasonal content or whatever on-line crap Ubisoft is selling. What these games needs is some kind of Olympics level event built in and not sold piecemeal.

The game world looks as exactly as generic as you might expect from Ubisoft. Maybe if this was baby’s first extreme sports game, ”Riders Republic” would all be new and wonderful. But I don’t play games to unlock whatever and buy whatever. I want finely tuned tracks made to delight and challenge players. The downside to a big sandbox is that everything is made of sand. Maybe if the game would just shut app and let me play, I would have better feelings about the whole thing. The game world itself is some kind of bmx hellscape. Imagine hacking in Yosemite and running into race marks and 20 snowmobiles blowing past you.

Full disclosure: I downloaded “Riders Republic” from the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog. I have no incentive to “get my money’s worth”.

Campaign is extremely tedious at the beginning. The game holds your hand and teleports you around the world forcing you to do specific events instead of letting you explore the world. I had to stop playing twice because I got annoyed by the whole thing. Other than that the game is okay. The controls are a bit weird to me but maybe that just takes some getting used to.

The introductory characters are cringe, annoying, and fit every cliche trope you can think of. After one of the intro characters referred to another NPC as a 'Tripple OG' I almost quit right there. During an intro tutorial you are told to 'just puke if you have to' to make it to the finish line. Like Seriously! Talk about promoting unhealthy habits and self harm.

If you can push through the tutorial the controls will be your main obstacle as you take to the courses. Riding the bike feels like you're sliding on ice. Gameplay leaves little room for error. One minor mistake and you're sent flying off a cliff or face first into a mountain. Overall, a lackluster turd of a game.

The thing I enjoy most about this game is the massive and beautiful open world. There is just an awesome sense of freedom and exploitability in this game whether you are flying down the mountains or racing across the desert. If nothing else, I can always just enjoy mindlessly riding down the mountains or biking across the desert. I think that's the best replay value this game offers. The mass races are a chaotic mess but in the most awesome way possible. But other than the mass races, I am not a fan of the competitive feel in this game, or the lack there of. There are not many multiplayer events, and this game doesn't keep track of stats. My biggest problem with this game is the blatant micro-transactions and the lack of earned cosmetics. The costumes are ridiculous, and all the good ones are locked behind a paywall. It's really sickening. However, I did have a blast playing this game, and it is solid overall. Expand

Great game, so much fun! It is true that controls could have been better, but racer control cheme works for me in both races and trick events. When I first played this game it felt disapointment after steep, but that was mainly because game starts from the road bike races which are quite boring. After the bike&ski tricks, deep snow and ski races opened this game is pure fun!

In theory, the game looks like it could be fun, but I just hate the mechanics.
To me, this game has the same problem that The Crew games have. It tries to be a plane driving, car driving, boat driving and motorcycle driving game, and then none of the controls and mechanics for these vehicles feel polished enough. They just feel odd in relation to other games that use the same vehicles,

You can choose several control configurations and you’ll find one that feels better than the others. A lot more fun than I thought it would be. Best game I’ve bought this year besides Tsushima

In terms of gameplay, Riders Republic is an arcade-style racing game. Not necessarily realistic, but very fun, fast and over the top. It's perfect for fans of Tony Hawk, SSX and even (for those slightly older readers) Cool boarders. It's not overly technical, but it's not dulled either. It's also clever how Ubisoft has managed to make every discipline on point. Whether you're doing tricks on a snowboard or flying through a ravine in a wingsuit, all the disciplines are incredibly fun.

Yes, the title from Ubisoft is full of qualities, full of energy, full of color and it offers beautiful sensations to seasoned players and others thanks to many options of accessibility. The sense of travel (and speed) and freedom are at the RDV! Too bad that some problems of management of physics and a scenario a little pretext a little spoils the superb panoramas.
