I'm really enjoying this game. This is as close to SSX (one of my favorite games of all time) as anything I've played in years. The exploration is great, I love flying around in the jet pack wing suit finding new areas, events and collectibles.

I was absolutely SHOCKED by how fun this game actually is. I didn't really like the Crew when it came out and I did like steep a little but this is just a mashup of some of the best open-world racing you can get. I foresee a strong community emerging with this one.

In theory, the game looks like it could be fun, but I just hate the mechanics.

The introductory characters are cringe, annoying, and fit every cliche trope you can think of. After one of the intro characters referred to another NPC as a 'Tripple OG' I almost quit right there. During an intro tutorial you are told to 'just puke if you have to' to make it to the finish line. Like Seriously! Talk about promoting unhealthy habits and self harm.

If you can push through the tutorial the controls will be your main obstacle as you take to the courses. Riding the bike feels like you're sliding on ice. Gameplay leaves little room for error. One minor mistake and you're sent flying off a cliff or face first into a mountain. Overall, a lackluster turd of a game.

Well, that lasted for about an hour or so. After that it became one of the most frustrating games I've played in a long time. If you enjoy cheap mechanics that constantly screw you, you are going to love this game! You are going to get bumped so many times in races. A lot of those bumps from the ghost opponents are going to cause you to crash or mess up and have to start from the beginning. By the 20th or 25th time of having to start a race over because you make one tiny mistake or get bumped by the ghost opponents, you are going to want to pull your hair out.

If you aren't frustrated yet, just wait until you've restarted the game for the 15th time because it randomly crashed.

Not frustrated yet from the game crashing or screwing you over in races? Well, just keep playing and I'm sure after you've heard the same song 25 times in a row (it restarts the same song over when you restart a race), you will rather bang your head against a wall than keep putting up with the crap Riders Republic sends your way.

On top of all that, I bought the Ultimate Edition and it still won't give me any of the cosmetics that come with that edition. So Ubisoft again releases another half-baked game and screws their customers. Don't let them screw you too!

I definitely won't be playing this game again until they address all these issues. You probably won't have much fun playing Riders Republic either until they actually finish the game and fix all these issues.

And you can switch between these rides in real time. You can even experience it in first person. For a huge open world game that is rich in content, the graphics are neat.

The customization options in this game are amazing. You can keep the look of your character grounded by wearing simple shirts and pants, or you can make your character look absolutely ridiculous with a unicorn mask and green skin tone. There are so many events to do in the open world. This game is exactly what an open world game should be about; freedom and tons of content. Lots of replay value in this game. The physics are complete garbage though. The cutscenes in this game were cringeworthy, but I appreciate that the cutscenes isn't the typical arty farty "I'm so miserable" trash that developers are obsessed with.

There is an offline solo mode called Zen mode in this game. All you can do is ride around the open world and do tricks. There are no events or races to be found in this mode. Very disappointing. So once the developers decide to switch off the servers, you will be left alone riding in the map with no activities. You can't even customize your character in the mode. Nonetheless, I do appreciate that there is at least an offline mode. I recommend you wait for the price to drop to $40 before picking this game up.

A strong 6 out of 10. Great graphics and the open world is beautiful. I wish you could choose a button to jump the bike. You flick the joystick to jump and you also flick it to backflip. Half the time you backflip when you dont want to. Hard to play for longer than half an hour. At the end of the day your just going down hills and jumping. Handling of the bike is a bit herky jerky.

Barf. The game looks fine, I guess. There are lots of on screen menus and glowing things to clutter up the experience. Despite the fast loading SSD of the PS5, the game will go to a dead stop to show you gear or new events you unlocked. The game mechanics are serviceable. The gaming industry has really run into a rut. Making a game that works just isn’t going to get more than 5/10 from me.

There is no avoiding a comparison with “Descenders”. The gameplay mechanics “Descenders” is just better. “Riders Republic” requires holding down a button until a rotation lines up with returning to the ground. “Descenders” properly has the player manipulate the sticks to freely rotate the bike. Many prior sports games, such as “Steep” had serviceable controls for performing tricks. I really rather play a remake of “SSX Tricky”. Most people would. In a couple of years, Ubisoft will release another extreme sports game with zero improvement in the controls and the genre will continue to stagnate.

The worst of “Riders Republic” is its awful push for DLC content. This is the same problem as Steep. I do not feel like I am playing a whole game. There is no career path or queue for races. You have to navigate this big open map with a fixed number of events unless you buy seasonal content or whatever on-line crap Ubisoft is selling. What these games needs is some kind of Olympics level event built in and not sold piecemeal.

The game world looks as exactly as generic as you might expect from Ubisoft. Maybe if this was baby’s first extreme sports game, ”Riders Republic” would all be new and wonderful. But I don’t play games to unlock whatever and buy whatever. I want finely tuned tracks made to delight and challenge players. The downside to a big sandbox is that everything is made of sand. Maybe if the game would just shut app and let me play, I would have better feelings about the whole thing. The game world itself is some kind of bmx hellscape. Imagine hacking in Yosemite and running into race marks and 20 snowmobiles blowing past you.

Full disclosure: I downloaded “Riders Republic” from the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog. I have no incentive to “get my money’s worth”.

Amazing game, full of things to do. Never bored. Few bugs here and there but otherwise nothing game-breaking.

Игра хорошая.Хорошая реализация трюков, есть система перемотки и много транспорта. Баги есть, но это Ubisoft)

Campaign is extremely tedious at the beginning. The game holds your hand and teleports you around the world forcing you to do specific events instead of letting you explore the world. I had to stop playing twice because I got annoyed by the whole thing. Other than that the game is okay. The controls are a bit weird to me but maybe that just takes some getting used to.

This game was made to be fun, which it succeeds at. And this is a rare occasion these days.

This game is fun, but far from a perfect 10. Ubi have very slowly been redeeming themselves recently, and this is another step forward for them no doubt. The game is fast paced, heart pumping, fun. But feels almost to inoffensive, I wish it were ok for songs to have explicit material and blood on impact to be more of an accepted thing in todays gaming market. Also, (hot take) but I HATE premium currency in a fully priced game. We shouldn’t need to spend more than 60 or 70 dollars to have the full experience, and being barred from content which I believe that we should be able to have the ability to obtain with work irritates the hell out of me. But other than that, on my 1660 it ran smoothly and I overall, good game. Good Job Ubi. They do need to add a HUD customizer though lol Expand

Fun game. Feels like your really racing down a mountain. I would recommend using first person for the full effect. Tons of trails and environments.

The game is so much fun. So many interesting races and varied challenges doesn't become tiring. Great to tune out with and have a blast!

Such a fun game. A little frustrating at first before you learn the controls, but you are rewarded once you get the hang of it. Snowboarding feels amazing and there’s no shortage of terrain. You can choose several control configurations and you’ll find one that feels better than the others. A lot more fun than I thought it would be. Best game I’ve bought this year besides Tsushima

€ 40,- euro's for a yearpass. And I should have gotten 8 different types of bikes or gear. The game is COMPLETELY NOT INTUITIVE and the races are CRAP. The WORST spend money ever. There is zero matchmaking, you're competing against the best gear right out of the gate so you are at a disadvantage for months. This game is not a lets chill and explore, this is a grind for stars or your gear is terrible, slow, and downright frustrating. Ubisoft purposefully makes your experience terrible with the carrot dangling with promises of "legendary" gear. BUT, it's RNG...grind, grind, grind...oh, you didn't get anything but cash (you can't even spend because their shop is bare, unless you spend real money on microtransactions), KEEP GRINDING! This is a gacha game disguised as a AAA experience. BUT wait, they do add some cool new toys for you to explore and have fun with...but for a price. So if you want to spend 60 for the game, then another 15 for a hoverboard, and another 20 for a season...well, enjoy the best game at nickel and diming you! Expand

In terms of gameplay, Riders Republic is an arcade-style racing game. Not necessarily realistic, but very fun, fast and over the top. It's perfect for fans of Tony Hawk, SSX and even (for those slightly older readers) Cool boarders. It's not overly technical, but it's not dulled either. It's also clever how Ubisoft has managed to make every discipline on point. Whether you're doing tricks on a snowboard or flying through a ravine in a wingsuit, all the disciplines are incredibly fun.

Riders Republic is an action-packed game that’s not only exciting to play but also very fun to discover, pretty much because depending on the route you choose, everything feels new and fresh even if you’re not playing it for the first time.

Yes, the title from Ubisoft is full of qualities, full of energy, full of color and it offers beautiful sensations to seasoned players and others thanks to many options of accessibility. The sense of travel (and speed) and freedom are at the RDV! Too bad that some problems of management of physics and a scenario a little pretext a little spoils the superb panoramas.
