I've always been tempted to get a Ride game, but for one reason or another, always talked myself out of it. With this latest installment being only next gen, I figured that now was as good a time as ever.
This game has so far exceeded all of my expectations. Granted, they weren't that low in the first place, but I now regret not giving this series a chance sooner.

Graphics are top notch, especially with the dynamic weather (which is unreal). The gameplay however is extremely challenging in my opinion.

In my favorite racing game of all time, Gran Turismo, even though it's a simulation, running into the occasional wall never completely hinders my race process. In Ride 5, the slightest collision or steep turn will cause you to fall off of your bike, which will more than not, cause you to lose that top spot. I appreciate this difficult yet realistic feature.

Bottom line, I really do love this game. It will take a lot more hours than I originally thought, but the graphics and overall feel are smooth combination for one of my favorite games of the year.

Ride 5 looks and feels better, I got the game 3 days early and decided to go for the platinum, the grind is almost unbearably monotonous and the game has had various patches that don't seem to make it possible to complete, and 1 actually made it way worse. The endurance races are hit and miss if it puts you down to 20th from 1st and sometimes the races won't even finish, I know a few people pretty much have 1 trophy left and at least 1 unobtainable time trial is impossible to get within a few seconds of the bronze time. I would have been done with the game by now had it been playable from start to finish, but here we are, waiting around for patches, I know some people have brute forced it but I'm not willing to repeat an endurance race multiple times hoping "this is the time it will actually work as intended". I f you're a casual player I'd recommend it as I'm sure by the time you get to the potential problems they will have been fixed, but still totally unimpressed with the day 1 until now experience. Good-
Great motorbike, circuit visuals; Dynamic Weather; Riding aids available for less-experienced fans; great DualSense haptics; Quality racing gameplay.
Bad- A dull career mode; Poor facial design and animations; Lacking extensive bike hardware customization options. Thoughts- Many fans want a reason to put down RIDE 4 and pick up RIDE 5. With the fifth entry in the series,

    Thoughts-
Many fans want a reason to put down RIDE 4 and pick up RIDE 5. With the fifth entry in the series, it’s not enough to tweak the graphical presentation, the motorbike physics, the weather system, and add accessibility options. Potential buyers want to be enticed by a fresh gameplay experience. Racing is racing. That part will never change. But how it’s presented, and the mode of play offered to players through progression structures, further management options, or cinematic storytelling with a modicum of choice will all go a long way to keeping fans engaged in the long term and invite newcomers simultaneously.

Despite taking three years to develop, RIDE 5 didn't significantly improve upon its predecessor in terms of new features. Even if we had higher expectations, this is still the greatest moto game that isn't directly based on a real championship and a very good place for new moto sim fans to get started.

Ride 5 proves clearly that when it comes to motorcycle physics, Milestone currently has no equal. It’s by far the best installment to date and while the pace at which the series evolves may not be fast, the most important thing is that the Italians are heading in the right direction.

A rather old-fashioned bike sim that focusses purely on racing beautiful bikes in a solid and smooth game engine. It’s not riotously fun, but the quality’s there. [Issue#32, p.91]
