    absolutely incredible and fantastic game. you may have heard that resident evil 4 is considered one of the best games of all time- this game is a worthy successor of RE4. It has similar action and horror elements- the pace of combat in the village- the atmosphere of a village taken over by a cult- and also, the difficulty of the game progresses similarly to resident evil 4, with someabsolutely incredible and fantastic game. you may have heard that resident evil 4 is considered one of the best games of all time- this game is a worthy successor of RE4. In my view- The setting of the game draws heavily on war-torn nations succumb to totalitarian movements- while the game is in its own separate RE universe, it was clearly influenced by human history.

    Significant replay value worthy of multiple playthroughs. After R3make there was speculation that the franchise was stepping back in the direction of RE6- have no doubt, with this game, RE is back and better than ever.     Resident Evil Village is an incredibile videogame. It gives the feeling of the old same Resident Evil while giving it a new twist. The story telling is great, I find it less "trashy" than the older ones (like u won't see Chris punching a giant rock) and all that happens to Ethan is explained.     Level Design: This is where RE8 truly shines. Level design is amazing and very detailed. Capcom did a wonderful job of capturing the spooky nature of the levels and the atmosphere.

    The levels are very detailed, be it the houses in the village filled with half cooked food or the furniture in the castle or the claustrophobic Beneviento's house. The amount of variation that can be observed, from the castle to the creepy doll house to the factory , makes this game a joy to play for someone who loves detailed level designs/level designs that pack a lot of creativity and variety.

    Characters: Character creation is where this game gets a big plus. The characters don't feel cheap and the characters are also very detailed in terms of textures + portraying the emotions.

    Gameplay: Gameplay is fun. It's a game that takes around 10-12 hours and is ideal for folks like me who don't have a lot of time to play video games anymore. Gameplay has the usual resident evil mechanics like crafting, ammos etc One thing I loved is the ammo isn't as scarce as resident evil 7 which made this game a tad bit easier than the previous game.

    Gameplay goes from RE7 style gameplay to something a action intensive gameplay and Capcom transitioned the gameplay from one style to another with fluidity.

    Audio: One has to use headphones to get the best out of this game's audio. This game has amazing 3d audio which really helps to adds an extra layer of immersion in the game. It helps in the boss fights + you can easily track the enemies based on the 3d sound.

    Over all, Capcom has perfected of what people expect from a AAA game in RE8. The detailed level design, characters that pack a lot of depth and emotion, great 3d audio, the ability to change the difficulty(yes, this is a big deal now-a-days), save feature so you need not be glued to one specific game, amazing visuals, a good storyline, the final hour of amazing action packed gameplay, hitting 4k 60fps with ray tracing, all combined together makes this game a perfect 10 on 10. Японцы молодцы!! В каждой игре есть конечно свои недостатки , но в этой игре я получил хорошие эмоции и главное - мне было интересно в нее играть.Отличная игра !! Интересный сюжет.     Loved the game! It was very inventive, fun, scary and interesting, the story line is amazing as well. However it would've been great to have a choice whether you want to collaborate with Heisenberg or not. There also could've been more things to interact with.

    10/10 I found the story to be done really well and I liked the more of an open world approach they took to the game! Bioshock has always been my favorite game series but this might give it a run for its money!

    This is the first resident evil game I've finished, I'm usually spooked too easy to play these games, and this one did Jumpscare me a couple of times but it's more action oriented than I expected l. The story was ok and the gunplay could use a lot of work. But the environment and all the characters give this game so much life it is awesome.     La primiza en que nos ponen en este título me ha encantado, que a pesar que estamos ante una nueva temática a diferencia del juego pasado, me gusta que sigamos aún de la mano de todo lo visto en el 7. Ahora este título está claramente apuntando a ser un híbrido entre la acción y el terror o suspenso, y la verdad es que me ha encantado que hayan podido encontrar un equilibrio entre estosLa primiza en que nos ponen en este título me ha encantado, que a pesar que estamos ante una nueva temática a diferencia del juego pasado, me gusta que sigamos aún de la mano de todo lo visto en el 7. Ahora este título está claramente apuntando a ser un híbrido entre la acción y el terror o suspenso, y la verdad es que me ha encantado que hayan podido encontrar un equilibrio entre estos dos géneros, y a la vez me gustaría decir que hay un momento en que se siente algo muy Silent Hill apuntando más al terror psicológico y eso me ha encantado. En cuanto a la historia me ha encantado todas las referencias que se puede captar de otros Resident Evil ayudando a expandir aún más este universo y tal vez ir por nuevos caminos que tal vez le pueda ayudar a la saga, tal vez en éste título algunos lo puedan sentir un poco lento en historia porque en sí no te lo van diciendo así muy explícitamente, al menos en mi caso, con todos los documentos que vas encontrándo te van alimentando un poco más de la historia de lo que podría estar pasando y lo que también ya fue dándole más personalidad a los personajes. Hablando de los personajes me ha encantado que esta vez a Ethan le hayan dado un poco más de personalidad, o tal vez porque ya tiene ahora si una historia detrás ya lo conocemos un poco mejor y así podemos ahora enfatizar más con el, y con el objetivo que tiene el como personaje y como padre, en cuanto a los antagonistas me ha encantado el hecho en que como los vayas enfretando y vayas conociendo su historia puedas enfatizar más con ellos e inclusive sentir algo de lástima. En definitiva es un título que me ha encantado, un título que a pesar que no es perfecto o que no viene a hacer una revolución a lo que fue Resident Evil 4, es un gran título y que para mí es un título imperdible para los que sean más fanáticos de la saga.… Expand

    A mixture of RE4 and RE7, this game stylistically is amazing and has tropes almost like a macarbe circus, it’s fun, insanely visually impressive, scary but not overkill.

    Really solid game and you should play it of you liked RE7 - it's not as good though. The visuals, sounds, and atmosphere are really well delivered and truly amazing especially in the first half of the game. Towards the end it becomes a flat out action game and more of a FPS but lacks the fast paced controls needed there. This is observed in boss fights that are average at best.     I was really let down by what they did with RE3R, but this almost made me forget all that.
    Similar to RE2R, you can feel the amount of care and passion put into this game. I really liked the gameplay, the story, and the performance (provided you turn off the ray-tracing). I have no problem saying I like this game almost as much as RE4. To put into perspective, this is my top 5 for RE    I was really let down by what they did with RE3R, but this almost made me forget all that.

    This is THE resident evil that got me into resident evil, I was extremely impressed by how the gameplay, story and characters as well as the obstacles you encounter along the way, like lady dimitrescu, Heisenberg, Angie and Moreau. This is officially my favourite game of all time, excited for the rest of the series, especially resident evil 2.

    RE Village is the definition of “almost perfect.” As a direct sequel to 7, the story was compelling and I absolutely love the direction capcom went with the series. The combat, graphics, enemy variety, weapon upgrade system, level of exploration and open-worldness, were all just simply put, Awesome. Even the final boss I thought really stuck the landing and was a massive improvement overRE Village is the definition of “almost perfect.” As a direct sequel to 7, the story was compelling and I absolutely love the direction capcom went with the series. The combat, graphics, enemy variety, weapon upgrade system, level of exploration and open-worldness, were all just simply put, Awesome. Even the final boss I thought really stuck the landing and was a massive improvement over 7’s really lackluster final boss. That being said why the game was “almost perfect” was because they could have done so much more with the games puzzles. They were just way too easy and there were just not enough of them. Removing the ability to backtrack to essential locations (i.e the castle, the reservoir) was also exceedingly frustrating during my first playthrough. Hopefully capcom learns and makes the changes for 9, but these small misses don’t change the fact that this game is an absolute titan. Do yourself a favor, buy the game and play it. You will be so glad you did!… Expand

    Resdient Evil: The Village's combat is thrilling and difficult. Resources are scarce, and enemy encounters are varied and interesting. There is a great and expansive system of buying and upgrading weapons. Although not terrifying, there are parts of the game that are quite creepy, cycling through the many types of horror gaming from classic Resident Evil in a mansion, to Layers of Fear, to the claustrophobic industrial setting. There are many nods to previous RE games, almost like a greatest hits version of the series. There's something very similar to RE4's controller-throwing opening combat sequence where you're swarmed by endless enemies. Once you get past that opening hurdle, the game becomes much more free-from in something like the hub-based open world you see in many immersive action games, with light RPG elements. The level design is excellent, reminiscent of Dark Souls, and rewards exploration, as you uncover hidden new areas.

    What kicks it up to a 10 is hard to explain. The game is just cool. Its stylish and bleak visuals, the fantastic graphics, and great character design of your adversaries blend together perfectly. There is also a subversive undercurrent of dark humor that I loved in the writing and dialog.

    I don't give out 10s often, but I believe I might never play a survival horror game as good as this.    … Expand

Would recommend playing for fans of the series and those interested in horror/action games-this entry in the series tones down the overall horror, when compared to previous games, however, it still delivers in providing a creepy atmosphere with solid survival horror gameplay. The character design and gameplay is also solid-new inventory system and merchant was a great addition!

    A single playthrough can last anywhere from 10-15 hours, depending on how much time you invest outside the main story with puzzles and treasures. The world is more open at least compared to previous entries, but it can still feel linear at times in terms of what resources you have access to and how this impacts your movement around the world. The world itself is designed very well-there is great variety to the different areas you explore throughout the story. However, there were a few areas in the game I would have liked to further explore, but was unable to revisit due to my progression in the story.

    A few weaknesses of the game would include the relatively short lived boss battles which didn't live up to the hype going into the game-some of which were over the top action oriented. If you are an avid player in the series, I would also recommend playing through on hardcore difficulty.    … Expand

This game was so damn fun. Except for a particular TERRIFYING section that made me want to die, I loved everything about this game. The story, the characters, the gameplay (especially the gunplay), andI couldn’t get too far into RE7 since it was too scary for me and the gameplay didn’t pull me in. RE Village, on the other hand, has the fun factor that I’ve been looking for in an RE game. This game was so damn fun.     its the best resi evil to date. it's a combination of the best to resi evils. 4 (the most fun one) and 7 (the most scary one), combined, it makes an excellent game. the game has insane graphics and highly detailed areas, its super pretty but dark. the only reason i can't give it a 10 is because dialogue could've been better along with weapon sounds and a more interesting story. i mayits the best resi evil to date. it's a combination of the best to resi evils. 4 (the most fun one) and 7 (the most scary one), combined, it makes an excellent game. the game has insane graphics and highly detailed areas, its super pretty but dark. the only reason i can't give it a 10 is because dialogue could've been better along with weapon sounds and a more interesting story. i may change my mind on how good the story is by the end of the game (i'm 1/2 through)… Expand

    fantastic action, not as scary as re7 but makes up for it unique bosses and areas. Game took me 13 hours but don't be fooled, it was a fantastic 13 hours with no lows. Imo games should be judged by the number of quality hours of gameplay it can offer and this game is worth the $60 price and so far is my favorite of the year. Returns to the much dreaded combat first style of the franchise with a twist... There is a great story and some underlying interesting mystery happening at the same time as the mindless combat. A few of the profiles with these reviews (Yes I snooped) seemed to say that about a lot of games that are perfectly optimized. I think its time for a new PC bud......     A great fun game. As a long time fan of the series, this one is very much in line with the campy-action-horror of re4 with some survival elements littered throughout. A fun cast of characters, amazing beautiful scenery, anxiety inducing combat (if you play in hardcore mode,) and truly a game worth playing if that’s your thing.

A few players will be turned off with the almost RE3 feel of the introductory chapter, but after continuing with the story they will meet balanced game play featuring horror, action, RPG-elements and more.

    Sure, alot of new players to the franchise will not feel as at home as I were, but Im a firm believer the absolute majority of players will find this game to be one to remember. By all means not perfect, but a bloody good time - pun intended.    … Expand

    This game was awesome from the story, atmosphere, how scary it was all the way to the awesome characters. I think this game topped off resident evil 7 in every way , I would even argue that its scarier than 7 , to be honest this game reminded me so much of resident evil 4 , its literally RE4 but first person with some better graphics.

    whoever wrote this game need a **** raise, amazing story.
    It is a perfect sequel of RE7, the gameplay is very fun.
    The level design is something of another world, outstanding.
    The village, the castle and all the other places are insane.
    It's not scary as RE7 but the tension while playing is always present.

    I’ve beaten this game 3x now and am still playing. So many things to do and see. Story is great as is atmosphere. Perfect balance of action & horror. Most fun I’ve had playing an RE game since RE4.

    At long last the newest installment into the mainline Resident Evil franchise has arrived. Released 4 years after Resident Evil 7 and after 2 remakes it’s back to a brand new story.

    Resident Evil is my second favorite gaming franchise and I absolutely loved Resident Evil 7, so I’m very excited to get a chance to talk about it like this.

    Full disclosure, I was skeptical about buying this so early, I didn’t know if I was in a place where I felt like playing through a Resident Evil right now, while I enjoyed the castle demo that I played, I wasn’t too sold, but I decided to do it anyway because I guess I felt the need. Boy am I glad I did, spoiler alert for the rest of this review, but I am very happy with this game and I had an absolute blast with the 3 days I spent playing it.

    Resident Evil Village take place 3 years after the events of Resident Evil 7, Ethan and Mia now living in Europe with their 6 month old, Rose. You have a cute little intro putting Rose to bed while being able to explore your house and find little callbacks to the previous game (newspaper articles, a Mr.Everywhere figurine etc) and discovering that Ethan and Mia are still haunted by the events of the Baker incident. You’re quickly interrupted by Chris Redfield and some soldiers who shoot Mia, take Rose, knock Ethan out and take you both away. Very soon you wake up and see your transport vehicle was attacked and you make your way to the titular village and he game truly begins.

    This game really spends a while making you wait for something to happen, not in a negative way however, it just builds things up so beautifully that you want something to try to kill you to relieve the tension,you always wonder if those noises are enemies nearby or if it’s jut trying to build up more tension and add to the spooky atmosphere.

    The game looks amazing of course, the Resident Evil engine continues to impress. The main village itself is absolutely beautiful, it’s a fantastic main area filled with snow and locked doors and plenty of secrets to keep coming back to as you progress throughout the story.

    Game-play wise it’s mostly what you can expect if you played Resident Evil 7, aiming and shooting are identical (unless they’re are some intricate details that go over my head) typewriters are back for saving and they look fancier than ever before, goat statues are the new Mr.Everywhere/Mr. Racoon, you even have a car sequence. There are a few things introduced however, such as a heavily revamped crafting system to make healing items and ammunition, a charming little journal to keep track of the events of the story. You can also buy weapons, ammo, upgrades and items from “The Duke” using Lei collected from enemies and found along the way (who even given a cute little reference to the beloved Merchant from Resident Evil 4 if you pay attention)o Nothing huge added, but i don’t think it needed much, if it’s not broken as they say.    … Expand

    Not better than 7, but still a great game. The story started off as a cliche, but it had some great twists so I could enjoy that. Overall not very scary, but this game had amazing, memorable boss fights. Well-made survival horror game.

It's sad to see how organic and natural Resident Evil 7 is with its concept to direction, but Resident Evil 8 fails as a child of Resident Evil 7, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game!     The game starts very well, somewhat fast, but very good. There, elements that make us weird are presented, elements of the story teeling, which is put into practice later in a very fun way and things sound very natural, with the exception of Chris hiding the truth from Ethan, he could say there , but, he does not say because of the script, however, it is interpretive and we can think of reasons why Redfield did not say there. When Ethan passes through the forest, reaching the survivors' stretch, WOW! the game there performs very well a break of expectation, which, here at least, is not bad, it just makes you more determined to move on. When you arrive at the scene of the discussion of Heinsenberg and Dimitrescu and the scene of the daughters together of the giant woman, we can see a certain promise (including marketing and trailers) of the game for what those characters will be, which makes you anxious to see them in practice and expect a lot from them. That's when ... the game starts to fail, the level design proves to be linear. Initially, the first daughter gives you the impression of a stalker half a nemesis, but linearity completely breaks this, due to the absence of a good time for this. Level design is based on what RE4 presents; you know scenario A and go to B and C, which automatically takes you to scenario A back, different from what RE, (including the wonderful RE7) would do, which would force you to pass the ABC scenario and then return from CBA , generating more gameplay time. the game is very automatic in the castle and this is one of the problems of why the daughters and Diminitrescu were wasted. The exterior geography made the castle look bigger, but inside, it wasn’t that grand, being more of a simple mansion (it seems to be smaller than RE1’s), and clearly, when we walk over the roofs, we see parapets and windows of places that never appear in the game, that is ... the castle is poorly explored in architecture, which means that Level Design could be longer, allowing for greater backtracking and time for the characters to be explored, but it doesn't ... The daughters are short-lived and Diminitrescu has a rough finish. You leave the castle upset, but in the meantime we return to the village, which is one of the highlights, where backtracking lives the most (except for the factor that bactracking sometimes seems very simple and obvious, but only in a few moments.). Finally, we go to the Beneviento house. The path to the place is incredible, we have a big house ... but again, poorly explored, we can even see corridors and passages that existed but obstructed (again, the level design could be higher), you have a surreal experience in basement with the big baby, but everything ends quickly, with the dolls at the end and a death ... that, discards a potentially wonderful character. We had seen how wonderful Marguerite in RE7 was as the owner of the second house, it wouldn't be a problem for them to do an extensive level design here with a tone of Silent Hills P.T., but no ... they prefer to abbreviate it. Moreau's part is ok, nothing incredible, but you don't expect much from him anyway, and it's cool anyway, a good comic and fun relief, impossible not to empathize with Moreau. Heinsenberg is common, however, THAT BOSS FIGHT IS **** RE6 STYLE, SIMPLY HORRIBLE, but Heinsenberg's motivation is very good. After that, the game seems to improve sharply. The story teeling starts to happen, a flood of plot-twist that involves you with Miranda, Chris, Megamiceto, Rose, HOLY **** OZWELL E. SPENCER AND UMBRELLA, ETHAN IS ALIVE everything happens very fast, yes .. BUT IN ANY WAY, VERY GOOD (probably lucky), leading us to an epic final battle and an... equally EPIC.

    The game engages you at the beginning, leaves you in a term of love and hate in the middle and engages you by ejaculating at the end. His problem is be promised too much ... just like Marvel's Age of Ultron, he has all the good stuff, but it is due to lack of creativity, maybe fear and a lot of haste, it makes things very fast and badly used . It gives you a wonderful experience, but kills this at the best time or just gives nothing like they promised, unlike its predecessor, which promised, gave and a little more. An bittersweet game, but nothing cancels the fact that it is, anyway, a good game and great RE. But it could have been... a lot. much. much. much better.

The game itself had amazing stunning visuals and amazing gameplay as it stayed true to a horror/survival game. The game from start to finish had me emotional. From fear to joy to sadness. This game is a masterpiece. This is now my top story game to play and I will be replaying.This game was truly a Next Gen game for the PS5 especially with the hepatic feedbacks and the adaptive triggers!     Similarly to Resident Evil 4 back in the day, Village will attract a new generation of players and redefine the franchise for the modern age. I guess it’s time to stop looking back and counting on the series to return to its roots. Capcom is well aware of those roots and willingly draws from them to create something new but still infused with Resident Evil’s spirit. Village is not perfect, but neither was RE4, and once again it’s easy to turn a blind eye to the flaws, because overall it’s an amazing game. [07/2021, p.56]

    Resident Evil Village feels like such a culmination. Bringing together elements from the franchise all the way up to now and crafting what looks to be the next step of survival horror, it embraces every aspect of the franchise. While the insidious dread of Resident Evil VII is missing, there are still plenty of scares. The monster designs are fantastic, from the generations undead, the fury of the Lupine beasts, to the towering monstrosities. It's well worth delving into the concept art and 3D models to enjoy them fully. The story is just the right amount of silly with the terrifying, and the odd dash of the surreal. The combat is smooth and fluid, best evidenced in the addictive Mercenaries mode. All of these elements added together make quite possibly the best Resident Evil to date, and a foundation for a fresh new generation of terror.

    RE: Village is a mixture of almost all previous Resident Evil elements, making the most of both survival horror and puzzle intensity, but with the primary stage being left for the more action-like nature of Resident Evil 4. It has some great story moments, sprinkled with a few lacklustre characters that are still overshadowed by its most notable characteristic – most detailed environment to date.
