Sloclap's newest football simulator is everything we've always wanted from an online football game. It lacks every annoying aspect that's been holding back the sports genre and its heavily skill-based gameplay focus strives to be the new standard, and we're all in for it. Even if it requires some more polishing here and there, with the corresponding updates REMATCH can easily become the greatest online football game of modern times.

Despite some technical issues in the beginning of its life cycle and concerns about its longevity, REMATCH delivers a very fun experience that constantly makes you want to play one more match.

At its best, Rematch shines as an absolute blast of a football game. Unique design, great controls and just downright fun gameplay will keep players coming back for one more match countless times. Stunning visuals and animations also help solidify Sloclap as true masters of graphical presentation. Sadly, some bugs, audio miscues and a disappointing soundtrack will dampen the spirit slightly but thankfully not terminally. Rematch is a bold attempt at mixing up the format of sports games and I applaud Sloclap for taking a leap of faith. I just cannot wait to go back in and play another game!

Rematch does a good job of providing a bite-sized arcade football experience that's backed by smooth performance and simple controls, making it easy to pick up and play.

Rematch feels like a breeze of fresh air, a real gift for football fans. With simple mechanics that are difficult to master, you can be the star of heart-stopping matches that, as usual, are much more enjoyable with friends.

Rematch is a bold reinvention of football games by Sloclap, blending intense action, no-rules arcade gameplay, and the spirit of street matches into a unique and chaotic experience. Despite technical issues like unstable servers and the lack of cross-play at launch, the game stands out for its freedom, fast-paced rhythm, stylized visuals, and a creative concept that’s likely to appeal to those looking for something different from traditional genre formulas.

Rematch has the juice to be the next big multiplayer phenomenon, and the game you'll be screaming at your friends in for years to come. Move over Rocket League – this is the arcade football game we’ve been waiting for.

Rematch is an interesting game. Even losing a match makes you want to try again, and when you team up with players that like to cooperate, it can be one of the most beautiful gaming experiences. I think even gamers not keen on football can find lots of fun here.

Presenting a very innovative game proposal, Rematch simplifies the rules of soccer to offer an intense and fun experience. Without throw-ins or fouls, but with lots of dribbling and artistic plays, we have here a game focused on competitive online matches. Although this focus exposes some problems, the title has enough qualities and the promise of important new features, deserving a chance to be added to your library.

Rematch brings a bold twist to a genre that’s been playing it safe for too long, offering a fast, stylish, and skill-driven take on football. Its gameplay is both accessible and surprisingly deep, turning every match into a highlight reel. Still, technical hiccups, balancing issues, and missing features like crossplay and offline modes keep it from reaching its full potential. Sloclap has built something great, and with the right support, Rematch could grow into a true standout in the genre.

ReMatch dreams of being a concentrated action game and an arcade alternative that's both easy to access and challenging. At the start, this is partly the case, and some of its promises are kept: you can feel its potential, the games with friends are wild, and it's hard to put it down. However, Sloclap's title isn't yet up to the task of lasting 90 minutes. Lacking content and fine-tuning, the coming months will need to be dedicated to training if ReMatch has the ambition to lift a major trophy in the world of sports gaming.

We really love Slocap's unique concepto of football, one that's truly different to the usual FIFAs and Pros. When the matches "connect", they really are irresistible, but the game desperately needs more options and modes, and a more solid online performance.

If you're in the mood for some solid multiplayer football, REMATCH is certainly a good effort that you'll be happy to attempt to master thanks to intricate controls, and the bite-sized sessions that throw the rule book away for the sake of fluidity and fun.

Like a young talent, Rematch has tons of potential, and some things it really needs to correct, yet, the title is largely within its reach.

Sloclap has undeniably conquered new territory with Rematch. In fact, the studio has pulled off a remarkable feat in renewing an ultra-codified genre to create a much freer, more tactical and technical experience that is truly exhilarating. Soccer is frenetically redesigned in a highly addictive arcade style. The game's entry is therefore a success, but it will take exemplary endurance over the long term for the formula to continue to be effective. If the promises of additional content live up to expectations, we could well be looking at one of the new kings of football.

Rematch is a good time but it really is a game of two halves: amazing with friends, but frustrating beyond belief with random players.

Were it a bit more feature complete and fine-tuned, Rematch would be undeniable in its claim for Rocket League’s long-held crown. There’s a high, albeit achievable, skill ceiling here, but intuitive controls means anybody can header, rainbow flick, or bicycle kick goals from the box’s edge in short, exhilarating, and most importantly, moreish games of soccer.

Rematch has the potential to be the next Rocket League with its engrossing mechanics, rewarding team play, and stylized aesthetic. But the game's performance issues and lackluster progression systems might stop it from living long enough to achieve that potential.

Rematch is very close to being a brilliant online sports title, and we're confident it can reach its full potential with the right updates and post-launch support. The gameplay has depth, and successful team play is super rewarding. Once it gets past its early teething issues, this has real potential to take off.

Expectations for Rematch may have been somewhat exaggerated in the run-up to its launch – the hype was evident in the high registration numbers for the open beta. However, Sloclap has actually succeeded in breathing new life into the football simulation genre. After years of homeopathic FIFA ‘upgrades’ at best, we should be grateful that a development studio has dared to try something new. The game may still be a little rough around the edges, but it's a lot of fun right from the start. The skill-based system provides plenty of motivation to learn the different moves in the matches. (The name ‘Rematch’ is therefore very apt.) It remains to be seen whether Sloclap has a game here that offers enough depth in the medium term. First, the studio should get the glitches under control – and add the much-desired cross-play mode.

Rematch sees French studio Sloclap’s first foray into sports mesh elements of Rocket League and classic Be A Pro modes, to form a lighthearted football experience with a bright future. Mais oui.

Rematch is an online football game focused on fast, intense matches with full player control, offering a fresh and fun experience for friends. Its dynamic gameplay and unique concept stand out, but frequent technical issues, lag, and bugs hold it back. A promising title that still feels unfinished.

Despite the fact that the game looks the part and there is a lot of surface-level fun to be had with Rematch, the harsh truth is that the game feels far too rough around the edges to stand a chance of becoming an ESports stalwart, or even a middling multiplayer title for that matter. The game's performance feels akin to an alpha still in development, gameplay doesn't facilitate a high skill ceiling for players to strive for, there are a litany of glaring omissions in terms of basic UI, and there seems to be a geunine lack of understanding on the developer's part on what makes for a gripping and balanced live service framework. I thought for all the world that this game would be a championship contender, but as it turns out, it's just relegation fodder.

In a sea of big sharks, Rematch is a small but stubborn fighter - impressive enough for some players to appreciate its strengths, while others may feel its shortcomings were avoidable. It brings a fresh contender to the multiplayer arena, just not one powerful enough to trigger any real tectonic shifts.

Welcome to a soccer game where making the slightest pass is a merit. Where your camera skills, your effort management, and your instincts count for more than statistics and complex manipulations. When you're part of an action that goes all the way, when players demonstrate fighting spirit, altruism, and skill to multiply tackles and passes, and when the ball ends up propelled into the net with a powerful acrobatic volley after a perfect cross, the pleasure is real and provides that dopamine that will make you stay for one more game. However, the balance between satisfaction and frustration remains very perilous as things stand. Simple to control on paper, Rematch doesn't need your 30 years of experience with other soccer games. It's a coach with whimsical methods, whose codes must be learned and who puts the player's patience to the test. Sometimes it's the game's fault (technical issues), sometimes it's the player's fault (muscle memory), and sometimes it's other people's fault (lack of altruism). In any case, if you find these lines don't feel like a conclusion, please direct your complaints to Sloclap, as Rematch doesn't feel like a finished game either.
