Jun 18, 2025RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is an excellent remaster of one of the best forgotten PS2 classics and one of the brightest gems in Atlus' catalog. The gameplay, visuals, and quality of life improvements elevate the game and make it even more of a must-have for fans of the genre.
-
Jun 18, 2025ATLUS has outdone itself with RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. Middling story and wonky camera angles aside, it hits the sweet spot of monster taming and action combat without compromising on the complexities that make JRPGs captivating. Here’s to hoping that ATLUS reinvents and reinvigorates the RAIDOU series, as it’s a breath of fresh air for this Persona fan!

Jun 18, 2025RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army's numerous QoL improvements and better graphics, on top of simply being on more available platforms, make it one of the best Atlus remasters to date.
-
Jun 18, 2025Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army revitalizes a forgotten PS2 gem with fluid action combat, stylish visuals, and immersive detective storytelling, though its simplified demon fusion and minor pacing issues slightly hinder the experience.
-
Aug 12, 2025A release that will delight both Atlus fans and those looking for a long JRPG with a complex narrative and dynamic combat. A piece that shines once again with its own light.
-
Jul 11, 2025This remaster shines thanks to its many gameplay improvements, visual enhancements, quality-of-life updates, and full Spanish localization, although its simplistic investigation mechanics and occasional repetition in demon interactions reveal its dated roots; still, it's a charming, accessible introduction to a lighter side of the Shin Megami Tensei universe.
-
Jun 20, 2025While Raidou himself is a silent protagonist, he’s still given a lot of character in the way he moves and dresses. I had a great time unpacking the game’s wild story, and knowing that a sequel to this game already exists has me hoping it will receive the same love in the future – because I want to see what Raidou the 14th gets up to next.
-
Jun 18, 2025While some of the improvements and changes that Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army introduces to its gameplay make combat simpler than it should be, leaving aside some of the characteristic elements of the original installment and the Megami Tensei series, it is also true that many of its changes are positive, since they make the experience more accessible to today's audiences.
-
Jun 18, 2025Atlus's archaeological work brings back a gem from the PS2 era. Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is the definitive version of the classic — an excellent remaster that preserves everything that made the original game special. A must-play for Megami Tensei fans and anyone looking to dive into the series.
-
Jun 18, 2025Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is one of the more niche Atlus classics, but the remaster has been well worth the time and effort. There is a dark and culturally interesting heartbeat at the centre of this one, and while I do prefer turn-based combat to this action button-mashy stuff from Atlus, I was more than willing to put up with it for everything else about the game.
-
Jun 18, 2025If you missed Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army when it originally released on PlayStation 2, this remaster should prove to be a treat. Featuring a revamped combat system, full voice acting, and more, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army almost feels like a new game, and its mix of investigation, combat and demon-collecting is both engaging and rewarding.
-
Jun 18, 2025Raidou Remastered is one of those games that all Persona fans should pick up without question. There are a few too many niggles that hold it back from being perfect, but for many people this could just be one of the all-time greats, and the perfect game to tide you over as you wait for Persona 4’s upcoming remake.
-
Jun 18, 2025RAIDOU Remastered somehow manages to thread the needle of creating a more polished version of a cult classic without compromising the mysterious, singular identity that made it memorable in the first place. It succeeds in offering new content that enhances the overall experience, all while honoring the original’s legacy. I can only hope Atlus will continue this effort.
-
Jun 18, 2025Raidou Remastered gives one of Atlus' most experimental PS2 outings a deserved second chance. Better described as a remake, a huge list of improvements, including a superbly reworked combat system, make this a must-try for the developer's modern audience. Raidou remains a uniquely weird and compelling action RPG, and this is its definitive form.
-
Jul 7, 2025Atlus hits the mark with Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, bringing back a cult classic beloved by fans of the company. While the amount of new content feels limited and sticks to the basics, it still delivers the core essence of the Shin Megami Tensei series, offering a unique atmosphere and gameplay experience.
-
Jun 24, 2025Despite some flaws, RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is one of the most unique Atlus JRPGs in the Devil Summoner series. It might not have the polish of modern SMT titles, but it makes up for that with originality, rich humor, charm, and atmosphere.
-
Jun 18, 2025Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is more than a remaster, it is the version that should have been originally released 20 years ago. It looks better, plays better and is less frustrating. This corrected and augmented version is a worthy return of a game that was eaten by its own obscurity and its original problems prevented it from transcending any further.
-
Jun 18, 2025Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is another solid update to Atlus's long-running Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Raidou Remastered overhauls the combat system for modern players and includes plenty of quality of life upgrades. It's a nice addition for those looking for a more supernatural detective story set in the Tensei universe.
-
Jul 22, 2025The remaster’s quality-of-life improvements, like streamlined menus and faster load times, are appreciated, but they can’t fully mask the game’s age. The story, while interesting with its mix of occult conspiracies and historical intrigue, unfolds at a sluggish pace, and the cast, outside of Raidou and Gouto, lacks depth to carry emotional weight. Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a solid effort to revive a niche gem, and its unique setting and demon-collecting hooks still shine. The repetitive and stiff combat and uneven pacing keep it from greatness, but it's still come a long way from its PlayStation 2 origins. It’s a nostalgic trip worth taking for Shin Megami Tensei fans or those curious about its lesser-known corners, but it’s not quite the rousing action game it could be.
-
Jun 25, 2025Raidou Remastered is an enjoyable MegaTen curio that needs a few more ideas to give its real-time combat any lasting appeal.
-
Jun 18, 2025RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is the definition of a solid 7 out of 10 game. Everything it sets out to do, it delivers, but in the modest way possible. It's a humble action RPG with Shin Megami Tensei elements, such as demons and an adapted Press Turn mechanics, and it doesn't dare go beyond that. However, the blend of sleuthing elements with supernatural powers could have pushed its story and turned an otherwise unremarkable game into a stellar spinoff, but it ultimately fell short. I only recommend RAIDOU Remastered to the most die-hard SMT fans, while other JRPG players might want to postpone their initiation into a demonic cult when the admission ticket is cheaper.
-
Jun 18, 2025RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army may not be a true classic, but it is a very solid action RPG with strong combat and an interesting story. Investigative work may not be a strength, but it gets to be less of a focus as the game goes on, mostly for the better. Shin Megami Tensei fans who missed this one late in the PS2’s life cycle will have a good time exploring an underplayed part of the franchise, but those who have already experienced this story won’t find a ton new to grab their interest.
-
Nov 17, 2025RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is an example of an excellent remaster. It's a shame that such a serious overhaul was given to a game that is far from the best.
-
Oct 14, 2025I’m genuinely happy that RAIDOU Remastered was released. Despite not liking it that much, it still represents an important period of Atlus’ history that can now be experienced in a much better way. The treatment this game received should be standard for every remaster.
-
Jun 22, 2025Raidou Remastered offers Shin Megami Tensei and Persona fans the chance to experience real-time combat while experiencing an aesthetic unlike anything Atlus has ever done. However, this version is the worst way to bring a classic title back to the market.
-
Jun 19, 2025RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a competent version of a forgettable game. It successfully brings SMT franchise elements into real-time combat, but it lacks variety and depth, features a tiring mission structure, and despite a strong start, the story drags on and loses its initial investigative atmosphere. It's a decent game, but flawed in several important areas.
-
Jun 18, 2025Its compelling early story beats can’t save it from its repetitive battle system and lack of meaningful connections, and I came away from my experience feeling like this was a rare miss for a company that is usually so consistent. It’s certainly a weird choice for a remaster.

Sep 13, 2025A good spin-off that is more enjoyable today than when it was originally released. [Recommended]
