if we don't talk about the greed that is Activision Blizzard this game is a fun time, the characters are well written, most of the game modes are well put together, "although not the most fleshed out", and the art team is just amazing. If this game had just kept a few things from the overwatch 1 wouldn't have this many bad reviews.

Recomendado

I prefer to get SR points after every game.
Overall the game is still fun but you can't help to think that it could be so much better. That's huge considering Overwatch was already an excellent game. The least they could do was just leave it as it was but they managed to do worse.

This game is Overwatch again, and that's kinda why I enjoy it, but Blizzard fixed some things that weren't broken and did literally nothing else. Calling this game a sequel is stupid, but it's still basically Overwatch at the end of the day.

But although the overpriced skins are unacceptable, i never buy any since i dont care much about skins and atleast their not lootboxes that prey upon people with gambling addictions. Never played it very competitively so i dont have a opinion on the competitive side of things. The worst is them admitting they knew the PVE was too much for them to handle and still they continued like it hadn't been partly scrapped. Basically this game lost the plot along the way. While starving us of new fun content on Overwatch 1 for like 3 years. I'm also upset at the 5V5 component. Tanks are hard to balance and even in 5V5 they are still hard to balance. Look at Characters like Doomfist. Also the prices for the skins are just... I seriously didn't think getting rid of loot boxes would somehow backfire on the community like it has. The phone number requirement I think is a good choice. It helps crackdown on some "not all" smurfs in the game. A positive would be the nostalgia I have for the game. Been playing it since 2016. The gameplay is fun and when it's good it's damn good. But when it's bad it's really bad. Oh also almost forgot the new mode they introduced Flashpoint is kinda, meh for me. I thought at the time it was just gonna be for the arcade mode. Apparently not. My friends really hate it but I don't mind it so much. Also putting a price on the PVE content is a little scummy. Blizzard should have made this first batch of PVE free for the community and then made people pay for the second batch of PVE content. Make it an apology for how things have been for the passed couple years. I think that would have been fair. It's not like their going under with $30 priced D.va, Mercy Bundles. Now I'm glad they're adding new exciting heroes into the game again. That's always gonna be a positive. Even if they come out broken as hell and need a patch to tone them down a bit. So yeah Overwatch isn't the game it used to be and it probably never will be that game again. I can't fully recommend it myself and promise you'll have a blast playing it as a new comer. Give it another year or so and if you start hearing good things about it and it's still free to play then maybe it'll be a good time to pick it up. Expand

Downgrade from Overwatch. 100% a store to sell you things and like 30% hero shooter that you knew and loved. 5v5 is not better than 6v6. Don’t know why they thought it would be. My guess is that by this time next year, Overwatch 2 will revert back to 6v6. The real rub of Overwatch 2 is how much it is not a sequel but instead a nerf of Overwatch 1. All maps are too bright, character design is more cartoony, animations have not improved, many characters are non-viable, new characters are no longer free, a few game modes are gone, and there are no more fun loot boxes as an incentive to keep playing. Certain characters that were good for strategy (meaning good for people who aren’t good at video games) like Tjorbjorn, Bastion, and Reinhardt are just worse. If you don’t play sweaty, you might as well not play at all. Overwatch was a fun game that I could jump into from time to time and enjoy a play of the game or grab a legendary skin after a match now and then. Overwatch 2 is not that game. Hard to say who Overwatch 2 was made for. Honestly, who wants all sweaty matches and wants to pay hundreds of dollars for in-game items. Lucrative? Maybe. Popular, doubtful. Definitely not the game I want and not the kind of business practices I want to support.

Update: I gave Overwatch 2 more chances and playing it more doesn’t make it better. You can look at queue times and see that 2 out of 5 players do not want to play support roles. But rather than design the game around the roles people want to play, Blizzard creates weak incentives for people to play support. Tanks are overpowered and that ruins all other game modes such as deathmatch and open queue games. The once popular Total Mayhem game mode is now unplayable because one hero is unkillable. The Push game mode has become unbearable. The maps are a mess and gameplay has no feeling of strategy. The 5v5 format has limited gameplay options anyway. One healer will stick to the one tank like a lamprey on a shark. This support role might as well be played by a.i. The game has a strong feeling of a lack of play testing. If Overwatch 1 was back, Imwould play that instead. I think most of the community would.

The massive BUT here comes in how they’ve gone about gutting and replacing all progression systems from the original. While loot boxes were scummy, the new method is - while perhaps being less predatory, far worse for how much you can earn through gameplay. Things like Legendary Skins are now doubled in price, and the currency can only be earned in the most minuscule amounts, or bought for real world money. Via weekly challenges you can seemingly earn a maximum of 60 coins if you finish all challenges, while the skins cost 1900 coins. The insane grind can of course be circumvented by dishing out $20 USD for a single skin. Anyone looking to defend this as an alternative to loot boxes is lost in the sauce. Any argument that it’s fair because it’s free to play is utter rubbish. Overwatch 2 sets a new precedent for online games, even if you owned a physical copy the game you paid money for is now gone and replaced by something that - while similar in gameplay, has changed so much on the backend that just feels awful from a casual player standpoint.

    1) the monetization is just downright bad, 1 legendary skin is nearly £20 and so is the "best" version of the battle pass witch is ultimately a let down.

The next problem is that the coins that are required to buy anything, are only obtainable in two ways, by either buying them with real money, or completing 11 weekly challenges for 60 coins witch is not enough for even the cheapest items in the store.

Legendry's cost 1100 coins so at a max of 60 coins a week it would take almost 19 weeks for one skin or what blizzard wants is for your £20.

2)the lack of incentives is also a problem and it ties into the 1st problem being because everything cool is locked behind a pay wall you'll have nothing to grind for or feel accomplishment for unlocking.
one way to fix both problems would be to increase the coins gained from challenges and add the coins to daily and sessional challenges as well, and add coins in free tears of the battle pass and some of the paid tears to incentives grinding that out.

Something else to look at is the fact that blizzard could be doing a 2 steps forward 1 step back by making it really bad monetization wise now only to go a little bit back so consumers are more ok with some still very predatory ways of making money from you.

finally the game its self is still enjoyable but that shouldn't give the other problems a free pass.

edit: a legendary is actually 1900 coins so at a max of 60 a week it will take around 32 weeks of grind for one skin

And the actual gameplay is worse. I hate how much they changed Orisa instead of making a new character, some characters are so OP at the moment that I find myself getting killed quickly, and due to server issues I sometimes don't even know how I get killed sometimes. Due to lag from the servers (I know it's servers & not my internet as this was never a problem I had with Overwatch 1) characters on both sides and myself zip all over the map sometimes where I will be shooting an enemy and then they vanish and reappear. Or I'll be shooting enemies and then I'm dead with my health going from full to zero. All in all it's very frustrating and I don't know why they pushed this game out as it's obviously filled with bugs. I miss the Original Overwatch and 2 hasn't even been out a week.

And I got to play the new push mode once and due to the server issues it made it very frustrating and tedious

Overwatch 2 has the same strengths as the first game. It's a new version of an enjoyable multiplayer shooter. But it lacks many essential things. The servers don't work well, it doesn't have a lot of new content and buying new stuff is extremely expensive. The gameplay is excellent, and the foundation is set, but there's still a long road ahead.

It’s really difficult to even grade this game. Should it be called “Overwatch 2” at all? And how is it going to grow? Right now, it brings next to nothing to veterans but still remains a very good team shooter.
