    Dead on arrival. Game's terrible, the spawn points are so bad, Tanks are so tanky you cannot kill them.

    This game isn’t a sequel at all, it’s just a glorified update with no progression system but a brand-new monetization model and an in game store. In order to have some progression and earn stuff (since there aren’t levels anymore) for the time you spent on the game (mostly suffering other players), you will be filling a “XP” bar to complete a battle pass that you need to pay to gain accessThis game isn’t a sequel at all, it’s just a glorified update with no progression system but a brand-new monetization model and an in game store. In order to have some progression and earn stuff (since there aren’t levels anymore) for the time you spent on the game (mostly suffering other players), you will be filling a “XP” bar to complete a battle pass that you need to pay to gain access to a Premium battle pass with no really premium rewards, even after paying you need to heavily grind it. This is easily one of the biggest scams in video games history. In most of the games with a BP, if you manage to complete it, it rewards you back the complete cost of the BP itself though the levels, but that’s not the case, here you can have some ridiculous rewards as premium graffitis, voice lines, player icon, banners or the brand-new souvenirs that no one likes. That’s not the only issue with the game, but it’s my main concern as an original OW player. This game gets very boring so fast since there's no progression, there's no point on continue playing anymore. Free to play doesn’t mean you can abuse your users like that. Other games have tried to push smaller team sizes. 343 tried with Halo. Bungie tried with Destiny. And now Blizzard is trying with Overwatch. All maps are too bright, character design is more cartoony, animations have not improved, many characters are non-viable, new characters are no longer free, a few game modes are gone, and there are no more fun loot boxes as an incentive to keep playing. Certain characters that were good for strategy (meaning good for people who aren’t good at video games) like Tjorbjorn, Bastion, and Reinhardt are just worse. If you don’t play sweaty, you might as well not play at all. Overwatch was a fun game that I could jump into from time to time and enjoy a play of the game or grab a legendary skin after a match now and then. Overwatch 2 is not that game. Hard to say who Overwatch 2 was made for. Honestly, who wants all sweaty matches and wants to pay hundreds of dollars for in-game items. Lucrative? Maybe. Popular, doubtful. Definitely not the game I want and not the kind of business practices I want to support.

    Update: I gave Overwatch 2 more chances and playing it more doesn’t make it better. You can look at queue times and see that 2 out of 5 players do not want to play support roles. But rather than design the game around the roles people want to play, Blizzard creates weak incentives for people to play support. Tanks are overpowered and that ruins all other game modes such as deathmatch and open queue games. The once popular Total Mayhem game mode is now unplayable because one hero is unkillable. The Push game mode has become unbearable. The maps are a mess and gameplay has no feeling of strategy. The 5v5 format has limited gameplay options anyway. One healer will stick to the one tank like a lamprey on a shark. This support role might as well be played by a.i. The game has a strong feeling of a lack of play testing. If Overwatch 1 was back, Imwould play that instead. I think most of the community would.    … Expand

    I was a big fan and top 10 competitor in Overwatch 1. Had around 7,000 hours on the game and absolutely loved it, despite some messy metas like double shield and goats. Overwatch 2 is 1000x worse than Overwatch 1 in every way possible. I despise Blizzard for ruining one of my favorite games with this despicable excuse of a sequel.     I will be as fair on my review of this game as the leadership behind this game was with the shop and battle pass. The gameplay is undeniable done well and can be addictive, the action is almost none stop and you have moments in plays where you are on the edge of your seat because your team makes a major stop or a huge push. This enjoyment really comes to a daunting halt once you return toI will be as fair on my review of this game as the leadership behind this game was with the shop and battle pass. The shop is expensive as h e double hockey stick, I don't see anyone enjoying this game in totality especially when you are seeing other players with new skins and you cant afford not even a key chain or emote with the bare minimum currency you get maybe once a week. This game is just good awful when it comes to customer experience. I do not recommend this game to anyone. Your welcome.… Expand

    I almost made a battlenet account, but the game would not allow to me input my birthday when prompted. it also wanted my phone number?     Besides 3 new heroes, a few maps, and 1 new game mode, this is a "sequel" in name only. They have ruined a solid, rewarding, and fun game, with an awful, grindy battle pass. That takes away any desire i have to continue playing. Locking heroes behind a paywall is the worst idea you could have. I hate loot boxes, but at least i unlocked 4 items every level up, instead of 1 item every 2 to 5Besides 3 new heroes, a few maps, and 1 new game mode, this is a "sequel" in name only.     My main problems with this "sequel": almost zero changes, tons of problems on the lunch, crazy ranked placements, not enough support players because they are terrorized by genji and Sombra when tank is soaking damage, PvE is not available and most likely won't be free. Monetization in general is absurd. 20$ for 1 skin?
    Can anyone really differentiate ow 1 and 2 in terms of graphics?

    In terms of gameplay they just remove 1 tank and added ping. Wow, what an evolution. And we are saying that Fifa and CoD are the same every year. Seems they called it ow 2 just to apply new monetization system. Not sure if they really have some developers there, only the marketing team. My bet that at some point they will add gotcha system there. Blizzard is officially in bioware club now.    … Expand

    **** this **** game. They removed half of the "progression" in favor of a ****ing battle pass. There are now no levels. There are no lootboxes to grind for to get skins, emotes or anything else. You are now in teams of five. Wich means that you cant have 2 tanks, 2 dps and 2 healers. The game just feels weird to control. Everything is ruined.

If you want a single character or skin be prepared to pay $20 minimum. To top it all off, the graphics are worse, 5 players instead of 6 leads to shorter and less fun matches.     Overwatch 2 is at the time of writing still not fully out (PvE modes are not out yet) but regardless there are serval problems that I'm very worried about for the long run of this game.

    1) the monetization is just downright bad, 1 legendary skin is nearly £20 and so is the "best" version of the battle pass witch is ultimately a let down. The next problem is that the coins that are    Overwatch 2 is at the time of writing still not fully out (PvE modes are not out yet) but regardless there are serval problems that I'm very worried about for the long run of this game.

    1) the monetization is just downright bad, 1 legendary skin is nearly £20 and so is the "best" version of the battle pass witch is ultimately a let down.

    The next problem is that the coins that are required to buy anything, are only obtainable in two ways, by either buying them with real money, or completing 11 weekly challenges for 60 coins witch is not enough for even the cheapest items in the store.

    Legendry's cost 1100 coins so at a max of 60 coins a week it would take almost 19 weeks for one skin or what blizzard wants is for your £20.

    2)the lack of incentives is also a problem and it ties into the 1st problem being because everything cool is locked behind a pay wall you'll have nothing to grind for or feel accomplishment for unlocking.
    one way to fix both problems would be to increase the coins gained from challenges and add the coins to daily and sessional challenges as well, and add coins in free tears of the battle pass and some of the paid tears to incentives grinding that out.

    Something else to look at is the fact that blizzard could be doing a 2 steps forward 1 step back by making it really bad monetization wise now only to go a little bit back so consumers are more ok with some still very predatory ways of making money from you.

    finally the game its self is still enjoyable but that shouldn't give the other problems a free pass.

    edit: a legendary is actually 1900 coins so at a max of 60 a week it will take around 32 weeks of grind for one skin    … Expand

    Absolute mess. Everyday something new is broken. Zero progression for playing. No level progression, you dont get ANY kind of reward for playing .just the battle pass.

    Its just a waste of time.

    Oh how my love of Overwatch has gone down. They ruined this game so much. Buffing characters who clearly don’t need it. Needing characters who clearly needed every advantage. My main pet peeve is when someone quits instantly, the match is ended early. What help does that give the winning team? SMH. Rest in peace Overwatch 1.

    But the account merging (that told me was successful and then days later I lose all my unlocks?), the ruined character nerfs, the ugly ass nighttime maps... like what was Blizzard even thinking. The worst part though if CHARACTERS LOCKED BEHIND A BATTLE PASS. Like    Absolutely horrible.

    I loved OW1. Sinked hundreds of hours in it. This "sequel" adds nothing and substracts a lot of what made the first game so engaging. No progression, absurd prices with little to no free currency, new heroes locked behind grinding a battlepass, etc. This game isn't even half as good as OW1 was and now I can't even play OW1 anymore.

    Overwatch 2 has the same strengths as the first game. It's a new version of an enjoyable multiplayer shooter. But it lacks many essential things. The servers don't work well, it doesn't have a lot of new content and buying new stuff is extremely expensive. The gameplay is excellent, and the foundation is set, but there's still a long road ahead.

    It’s really difficult to even grade this game. Should it be called “Overwatch 2” at all? And how is it going to grow? Right now, it brings next to nothing to veterans but still remains a very good team shooter.
