Finally, they delivered what we always wanted. A true procedural game, a true experience, multiplayer and a vast universe to explore. Improved as hell, this game now deserves this rating. CD Projekt Red, learn from these guys, they screwed up, but like a phoenix, they raised from the ashes, from the hate and gave us this promised game. Better late than never.

Welcome to the Interstellar Sandbox! With 18 *FREE* major content updates, the latest being incredible all by its wee self, this game delivers. And delivers and delivers. In fact, it has changed and improved so much since it's release, that any reviews written before 2019 are totally and completely misrepresenting what this game is today. When I first bought it, I played for roughly 5 hours and after one massively disappointing experience, I put the game away, for what I thought would be forever. However, mid 2021 I started reading that NMS had changed drastically. Without reading further in to it, I decided to give it another look.
That look turned into approximately 500 hours of playtime and platinum trophies on both PS4 and PS5. I couldn't believe how much content had been packed in this game. So much so, that there were times I'd just zone out while playing, trying to comprehend how this game was capable of doing what it was doing, and how it was possible. (Didn't figure much out, but that's okay because I don't work there) Audio - 40/42
Video - 42/42 (Next generation is gorgeous) Controls:
    Ship - 42/42
    Rover - 20/42
    On foot - 38/42 Terraforming - 36/42
    Exploration - 42/42
    Travel and Accommodations- 42/42
Base Building - A million. (Thanks to an orbital construction camera for easier piece placement and a large selection of parts to build with) Questing - Repetitive in a lot of aspects, but it's almost a secondary function of the game after a point. For what this game is and then became and for how much I got out of this game, I'm rating it at %100. Take that with a grain of salt if you like, but if you like space exploration and sandboxing, you're gonna freaking love this game. Cheers!

And it is the BEST WAY to play this game! Immersion is breathtaking! Exploration, combat, resource and base management, all of that is just on another level, when you're in VR. As I said before, meybe on release this game was lacking in some areas, but now, with this many free expansions and updates, with new content and VR support... for me, it's 10/10.

PS. If you're on PS4, you should also try it. Game also has first PSVR support as well.

I love the sense of adventure and also playing this game at my own pace. I love the base building part of the game but the resource management can be a bit tedious. It also crashes a lot on my ps5. Still very enjoyable to play. It's more of a relaxing game rather than the typical chaos or intense button mashing games.

This game is excellent and very deep, but here I'm complaining about the PSVR2 update. It doesn't show at all any improvement than the PSVR1 mode. Resolution is low and blurry. The release notes are way inflated about a hypotethic "graphics overhaul". Lies. I'm disappointed.

For a game that launched in a terrible state the game has come a long way. I respect that the developers didn’t run away with the money and call it a day. Though I still feel they deserve the criticism for how terrible the game launched. I can say now that the game is finally worth the price of admission. I am currently playing the game on PS5 mainly through PSVR and it’s a surreal experience. Flying into a planet while burning through the atmosphere and then seeing the strange beauty of the planet through vr is spectacular. Then finding a perfect place to build a base overlooking a town that you are running is amazing. This game definitely isn’t for everyone but if you like exploration and discovery and you have the time to burn no man’s sky is a must purchase especially if you have a VR headset. Expand

This game is for a niche market segment, but if you are in it, this game is incredible. It has become a staple as one of my go-to games over the years. No Man’s Sky isn’t the most complex game, but if space exploration in a sandbox style game is of any interest to you then I highly recommend it. The content is truly endless, and it really creates an experience to immerse you in the vastness of space. Essentially the game feels like Minecraft in space with more complexities such as a far deeper crafting system, economies that vary by star system, and the general makeup of the randomly generated planets and star systems. If this game clicks with you, it’s incredibly addictive, and even after your run is over with the game, you will continue to come back for more. One thing that is important to consider going into it is that the game is designed to be an exploration game - not a story heavy game and not a game with narrative based missions. If you go in with those expectations, it’s phenomenal. The content that continues to be added into the game simply concretes this as one of the biggest comeback stories in gaming. I absolutely love this game and continue to come back to it year after year, sinking a minimum of 20+ hours each time. The amount of time you can spend with this game while being completely lost in the world is endless.

    JOURNEY TO THE CORE

    BEFORE WE START:
No Man's Sky was developed and published by Hello Games and released in 2016. This title was released under completely adverse conditions compared to those presented at various conventions and fairs, and therefore, it was heavily criticized. After dozens of updates, the game became very similar to what was originally announced. The title has been fully released on Game Pass PC.

    THE TAKE OFF:
No Man's Sky, as a pure survival game, instantly throws the player into the clutches of a planet immersed in the infinite universe. This planet can randomly be peaceful or malevolent, making the first steps more or less challenging depending on the type. The initial stages mainly involve learning the basics of survival, as well as constructing a small personal base. After these steps, the player will be unleashed into the universe of the Atlas, a mysterious deity or legend that requires the player to reach the center of the universe. As an interlude, the player can literally explore endless planets, take on dozens of side missions, and build bases on planets or immense frigates.

    STALENESS UNIVERSE:
The gameplay of No Man's Sky is as varied as it is repetitive. In addition to the mere survival aspect of collecting resources, surviving in hostile planets, and fighting sentinels, players can venture into cooperative missions and raids on frigates and outposts. Furthermore, a small part of the game certainly involves space battles, albeit very simple ones. The true heart of the gameplay in this immense title lies in the exploration of thousands of planets, which often differ greatly, and the various space wrecks. A small mechanic that encourages exploration is the bestiary and encyclopedia of creatures and objects on the planets, offering small rewards in currency.

    WHAT COLOR IS THE SPACE?:
Graphically, it is rather average, with a wide variety of designs and coloration of the different worlds. Certainly, the imagination behind some plants and creatures is exceptional.

    SCATTERED ECHOES:
The audio component, like the graphics, is average. However, its great merit lies in creating extremely relaxing and mesmerizing situations, with fitting soundtracks for deep space.

    BUT WHY 7?

    PROS:
No Man's Sky is currently an extremely enjoyable and relaxing title to play and explore. The vastness and creativity of the game world rarely become tiresome, and the game's writing is unique and detailed, keeping the player engaged. Additionally, the main story, being very philosophical, will certainly stimulate the minds of the most imaginative players.

    CONS:
The major problem with No Man's Sky lies in the immense repetitiveness that it reaches within a few days of gameplay. Every space station, NPC, planetary base, frigate, and most dialogues will always and uniformly be the same. Moreover, the game's strong survival aspect often leads to tedious farming sequences for normal gameplay actions. All these factors make it a highly enjoyable game even today, but it certainly doesn't lack some issues dating back to its release.

    RATINGS:
    Gameplay: 6.5
    Music: 7.5
    Story: 7
    Survival: 6
