    Enemies are just too hard.
The action is too slow and unexhilarating.
Weapon sharpness gauges are a hindrance. Collecting materials is work.

People whining the game is too hard and won't even do research LOL. Cracks me up.
How about learn the game and then give an honest review.

With that said however, this does feel like a major downgrade compared to World. The coop aspects suck in this one. Just nowhere near the same fun level at all. They should never force you to do a story mode in these kind of games in Single player only...

That game came out many years ago, so I’ve had plenty of time to forget the mechanics, controls, monsters, etc.
Unfortunately, after a few hours playing “Monster Hunter: Rise”, “World” is coming back to me enough to realize that this is mostly a retread of “Monster Hunter: World.” There are really only a few main differences in “Rise” and “World”, and none of them make the game better. In fact, most of the changes make the game worse in my opinion.
The biggest change to gameplay is the wirebug, a tired mechanic that’s been used in basically any game that’s had a grappling hook in it.
The other changes are negatives that I don’t remember from “Monster Hunter: World.”
There was quite a learning curve in the first few hours of the game, even though I’d played this IP’s last release. So many mechanics at the hub, inventory management is tedious, and the choice of button-mapping for actions in hunts was the opposite of most adventure games I’ve played over the last decade or more.
The NPC’s are extremely corny and overly cutesy. This is a matter of taste, of course, but I don’t remember being so put off by the silly, overly sweet, never funny characters in Monster Hunter: World. This choice of style and atmosphere is so odd for a game that’s made around killing monsters and animals.
The user character’s dialogue is the repetitive, over-acted type you’d expect from a game made 15-20 years ago.
It’s a close race, but it’s probably the similarities that make this game hard to spend much time playing since I’ve already experienced 50-100 hours of “Monster Hunter: World.”
I recognize almost all of the monsters from the last game, but most of all, I feel like I’ve played this game many times before, many years ago.
The mechanics, gameplay loop, graphics, inventory, crafting, etc. are all tired cliches. The lack of innovation makes this game feel like it belongs in 2010 on a PS3 rather than in 2023 on a PS5. This game seems like it could’ve been made the very next year after “World”, like Madden has copy/paste yearly releases with superficial changes.
This game just feels like an uninspired money grab. I’m really surprised that the critics widely gave this game such good reviews. If you played Monster Hunter: World, I don’t recommend paying anywhere close to full price for this title.

Still a fun game even if you yell bull#¤&%/ at the screen at times. multiplayer joining is trash as 90% of the time you press to join it says failed to join, or a error popup, so i just solo everything, it was better on the ps2 back in the day had no issues joining then, if you love monster hunter buy this its cheap. but for everyone else stay away.

Yes. It is a switch port. So graphics are just ok and expected.

But the game feels slow and unresponsive. And the UI is HUGE! It takes way too much of the screen and needs a scaling features so that you can see the UI but not be dominated by it. The endless chat boxes are annoying. The chat boxes and UI kill it for me.

The combat also is faster and more mobile than world, but the actually quests themselves are not as difficult. I would say this is the best starting part to get into the series but Monster Hunter is not for everyone, it's a game that rewards you for learning the mechanics and not forgiving you if you don't. If you're a fan of online (can also be played offline) action rpgs with loot mechanics you can't do any better than Monster Hunter but not everyone will have the patience to master the mechanics. The acting is mediocre, so all of this backstory the game throws at you falls flat on its face, making the intro even more of a slog. I finally got to my first enemy encounter, and BOOM MORE TUTORIALS!! The game takes a break every 10 seconds to hold your hand, I'm talking basic stuff like "*pause* press the left analog stick forward to move your character forward. *unpause* *pause* press the left analog stick left to move left" *unpause* *pasue* press the left analog stick right to move right* unpause *pause* press a to jump *unpause* *pause* hold a to jump higher* unpase" and if you wanted to skip through my anecdote just now, you got a free glimpse of the opening 3 hours of this game. I honestly didn't make it any further, I hit my second enemy encounter, the game threw up another tutorial to read about how there are ranged AND melee enemies, and I uninstalled it right then and there. If I had to read through one more submenu I was gonna smash my head through my screen. Expand

This game is tight. Despite being a remastered switch game, it looks absolutely gorgeous on Ps5 in 4k, smooth framerate, up to 120fps, various performance options. It's not as detailed as World/Iceborne but it's just as fun to play, with a ton of monsters to hunt. The new wirebugs feature and doggy pet makes your hunter move around like never before. Monster Hunter has been on a great run, and it’s great to have another entry in the books that knows well why it works and emphasizes that as much as possible. Rise is as accessible and enjoyable as World, if not as content-rich, but it takes what made the formula work and continues pushing it forward. Not everything works perfectly, but for a game that has so firmly created a unique identity, Monster Hunter Rise provides some of the most rewarding, fun core gameplay the genre has offered to date.

Monster Hunter Rise is a very debatable game. Monster Hunter World being my previously played Monster Hunter franchise, there will be some comparisons. I still love Monster Hunter, and it will be recommended but I have many disappointments regardless. Sunbreak is a pretty good DLC and I personally did not run into any save issues. However, majority of the people seemed to have run into major issues with their save files. MHW and MHR, graphical wise gets compared a lot. I think people should know that MHW is made for console players and MHR is made for portable players. The graphics could have been improved but I don't think there are any issues with graphics. As great as this game is, it's very flawed and disappointing. Let's go to pros and cons.

    Pros :
    - Amazing scenery
    - Monster design and the amount of monsters to engage.
    - No pay to win. Always one of the best reasons.
    - Mods, mods, and mods. Get creative!
    - New user friendly, likable tutorials.
    - Events keep it coming. Never ending with those cosmetics!
    - Palamutes, Cohoot, Palicoes. These FELYNE friends are our best friends.
    - Turf wars, it's amazing. Get ready to grab your popcorn lads.
    - Multiplayer
    - The soundtrack is probably one of my favourites. Never disappoints me.
    - Skippable cutscenes
    - Good servers
    - Buddy A.I. has been improved
    - Story and the characters. I love them so much! #Fiorayne
    - Weapons and wirebugs. The new movesets compared to Iceborne is flawless.

    Cons :
    - Hitboxes are downgrading each franchise.
    - Bad optimisation.
    - Monster A.I. is very flawed. The tracking is so accurate and most of the monsters are spamming the same attacks. I think this is currently my biggest issue and disappointment about the game.
    - Punishment. Once you get hit, it's very difficult to get back in the track. I understand some players want a challenge but I would like the challenge to be a challenge, not a moment to die without being able to recover.
    - Evading is not very optimal anymore. Most attacks are meant to be countered and evading is almost non-viable now. How many times will a player counter rather than evade?
    - Weapon counter activation. Somehow this is a bug happening since the release of "FREE TITLE 4" for Sunbreak?
    - Input issues. One of the most flawed input problems I have seen in a monster hunter franchise. Seriously, how can you mess it up this bad?
    - 30 fps cutscenes. I don't even know why this is a thing.
    - Unnecessary amount of RNG.
    - Each update causes more bugs.
    - Spiribirds are probably one of the worst system added to a monster hunter franchise. I miss the old health system.

Conclusion, game is fun but it has so many issues. I still recommend you the game no matter what. Although, I am just hoping the Monster Hunter Portable Team would maybe, just maybe decide to fix the major issues with the A.I, input, and the bugs with weapon counters. I would play MHR but I honestly would not stay for it longer than MHW. Honestly, I would rather go back to MHW than MHR in the future. Overall, still a good game.

P.S. Try to get Sunbreak. Without the DLC, the game lacks a major amount of content.

    ✅ MODO COMPERATIVO E ONLINE – ((EXCELENTE))

    ✅ VALE A PENA COMPRAR?

But the multiplayer part of the game got way better with the Gathering Hub being accessible from the beginning and being able to join a multiplayer quest before start(in World you would have to go to a quest, see the monster cut scene, quit the quest and then you could join other people in quest of that monster or after the cut scene people could join yours but all that was a pain in the ass). I consider myself a veteran having played all monster hunter games starting with mh3u in 3ds and after and the game is just more of the same game cycle. It is not for everyone. What makes it different is the wirebug mechanic which is a direct evolution of the clutch claw in mhw. It helps you with mobility a lot and makes exploration more fun for me. The other quality of life improvement is the new companion palamute that you can ride like a mount!
The weapon variety is good and the same as previous mh games with many different weapons for every taste.
For me that I don't have to much time for games due to real life and stuff doing some quests everyday with friends is just what I need. With the sunbreak expansion just around the corner the lack of endgame will be remedied. It is the only thing that bothers me a little. Overall I really enjoy hunting monsters and trophies!

If you liked Monster Hunter World, you’ll love this. PS5 version especially has very short load times, 4K and super smooth 60fps. It has tons of content especially with the new expansion. The game is so good you owe it to yourself to play it.

This game is very difficult, hence the reviews. There is nothing wrong with the game it is simply extremely difficult. The graphics are great, ignore the chud reviews.

Overall gameplay has gotten faster in good and bad, I don't like the use of wire bugs to get out of situations but the traversal and new weapon mechanics are good. The monster roster feels a little boring to me in low rank but it steps up in master rank/high rank.

This game has a very good combat game play, but sometime the control is very bad. In my opinion, the graphics is worse than MONSTER HUNTER WORLD, it's look dirty and kinda old, I don't know how. But it's still a good game, worth to try.

The PS5 version of MHRise ramps up an already good experience from switch all the way up to 11.
Better framerate, all base title updates on launch, no online gameplay issues.

People are insane, voting too low because they are frustrated but this is BY FAR the easiest mh game ever, and as always it's well done with litteraly hundreds of hours of gameplay, smooth and fast in loadings. Not the best mh but close enough

Monster Hunter is a game about hunting large monsters, whether alone or with up to 3 fellow hunters. You get to choose from 14 different weapon types, all feeling unique with totally different playstyles. Once the Monster has been slain or captured you're rewarded with its monster parts which can then be used to enhance or craft entirely new gear which then allows you to take on higher ranked missions and harder monsters. Highly recommended, say goodbye to the rest of the world.

Suppose you were very patient and hoped that Monster Hunter Rise would come out on PS5. Guess what, congratulations. In that case, you will have a very worthy version of an entertaining video game that, until now, could only be enjoyed on two different power platforms. The battles against the enormous monsters, the duels to defend your village, and even the music make the gaming experience worthwhile.

Rise evolves World’s approachable template into an even more fun and faster-paced entry with brilliant new mechanics and the series’ most inspired designs. [Issue#24, p.70]

While there’s been no content added to either the PlayStation or Xbox versions, you’ll still have plenty to do here. There’s the main questline to engage with that’ll take you through multiple monster quest tiers, which is somewhat short compared to other Monster Hunter titles. But the online hub quests expand that out even further, offering up more story content that goes beyond the end credits of the game, and has a number of challenging fights for experienced hunters. There’s also a whole host of free downloadable quests to engage with, encompassing the free DLC that’s come out on prior versions of the game. All in all, you’ll be able to spend a lot of time exploring and hunting down giant monsters, which is pretty much what you want out of a new Monster Hunter game.
