This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is enjoyable in terms of creating tracks / helmets / stickers and modifying your bike. The racing aspect is ridiculous. PS4 users won’t enjoy much unless the race mode is medium or below, which means you cruise ahead of everyone else. Attempting to race against AI’s in “hard” is definitely HARD. In fact, it’s nearly impossible. That’s WITH all of riding aids turned on (flow recovery, semi-auto weight adjustment, assisted steering and activated cornering assistance). The problem isn’t necessarily movement but the AI’s sabotage you and your racing line. You wipe out far easier than the AI’s and the AI’s recover faster in speed and spawning. There’s no point in making a difficulty entirely impossible. I recommend racing on medium in which you can at least feel like you’re enjoying the game, and not restarting 400 times. The huge problem with that is if you’re in the middle of a career and you don’t win the entire championship in your first season, you’re insanely limited in terms of contracts. That takes away from the fun of the game. It’s beneficial that you’re given so many credits from the actual gameplay you perform but it’s not any fun if I can’t buy aesthetics/apparel in my career. You should have more operable power in terms of racing for the teams you want to race for. Overall it’s a boring game, and even though it’s not ridden with micro transactions the only way to turn the game off with self esteem left is turning every feature of sssistance ON and turning the easiest modes on. It would be nice to actually RACE but apparently that’s too difficult to simulate. Expand

The riding and handling are very good. Unfortunately the AI is game breaking. They do not know you are on the track. Drive right through you everytime. You crash but they do not. Graphics on Houston and Atlanta are unexplainably bad. For a perfect review go to Dr. Ace on youtube.

Steering is wack, its impossible to stay on track, the second you start doing good it glitches out or crashes. Very glitchy and buggy. The difference between medium and hard is insane. I can finish 2 straights ahead on medium but cant even make a main event on hard. I play the hardest setting on every other sx/mx game no problem. Good game on very easy or easy, once you hit medium and higher it starts to become pretty bad. I've put hundreds of hours in the previous versions of this game without problem but this one the racing is really bad. The physics are terrible and the constant being knocked off track by the other AI is game breaking. Keep waiting for it to be fun like the other versions but it never does.Good game on very easy or easy, once you hit medium and higher it starts to become pretty bad. They need to use the Riders Republic bumping engine and their races are 64 people. 15 bucks on ps5 and I feel like I got ripped feel bad for the 60$ people Expand

There is no doubt that Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 5 is one of the best current titles in its segment, and even with some points for improvement, it offers an incredibly deep system of control and simulation of the sport. Correct in both content and visual style, it proves to be receptive to dedicated fans, but uninviting to new adepts.

The game is more of the same if you know the franchise and that in itself is good and bad news. Good news in the sense that you know what to expect in terms of gameplay, because that's just fine. Bad news in the sense that it hardly brings anything new. There is plenty to do and experience, but we know it all from previous parts. In addition, the graphics are in some parts a bit outdated, however in general it looks fine. On the other hand, there is fine gameplay and a fun career mode, but it is time to take innovative steps.

Compared to the first titles released since 2018, MES is more accessible, free, fast and clear in the composition of its game modes in addition to deepening its formula in the Solo career or the circuit editor. On the other hand, Milestone failed to make a leap forward from a graphical point of view, on the behavior of the AI, animations and collisions. Monster Energy Supercross isn't taking full advantage of the latest console generation just yet, and it's still going to take a while to feel a real sense of progression in the series.
