    One of those few games that I'll happily give top marks. They had the deck stacked against them after the movies since it felt weird to accept new versions of those same characters. But I ended up finding the game versions even better than in the movies.

    Highly recommend this.

    One of the most entertaining games and pieces of superhero media I have consumed ever. The story is well-crafted with solid emotional moments that flesh out each character, funny momments that make you laugh, and badas action sequences that make you exhilarated. Although I would have loved to play as the other members of the team, playing as Quill was still    Highly recommend this.

    A lot of people wrote this game off before it came out but I’m glad I was one of the few who saw the vision! I’m not as huge on the Guardians as some people but I enjoyed all of their movies so far & appreciate how they tend to go to some weird & wild places, so a game longer than all of their movies combined had the chance to do the same thing and it definitely accomplished that!A lot of people wrote this game off before it came out but I’m glad I was one of the few who saw the vision!     Positives first, the game is just plain FUN. This game could’ve been made in the PS2 era & it would’ve fit right in, which I’m using as a compliment! Just a straightforward single player video game that feels so rare nowadays. The combat is hectic in a very satisfying way too! Some people complained about only being able to play as Star-Lord but that would’ve made things wayyy too messy with this combat system, if there is ever a sequel that goes completely over the top I could see it happening though. The graphics are great & the soundtrack goes hard too. All of the Guardians’ actors gave a great performance despite me being so used to the movie actors for them. I also really liked the choice & dialogue systems, I love replay-ability options like these.
    The complaints I do have are more minor, nothing in this game aggravated me to the point of dinging the score lower but I wasn’t hooked by the story as much as I wanted to be. At times it truly shined, ESPECIALLY the parts with Peter & his mother which really tugged at my homesick heartstrings. I get how the bickering between the Guardians makes sense in-universe & is how they usually are, but there’s SO much dialogue in this game even if it’s idle talking. Sometimes it just got a bit too much for me even if I liked all of the characters & their performances. The most glaring problem is the weird optimization that still hasn’t been patched on PS5 almost 2 years later. There are strange large frame drops often & a lot of bugs. Some of the bugs were really funny like when enemies would die & randomly have their bodies do a 180 twist before ragdolling across the room. Other bugs were annoying clipping issues & I would get stuck in the environments at least once per chapter, making me have to reload an auto save which thankfully never cost me a lot of progress, One part during a mid-game combat gauntlet a large mini boss enemy got caught in the ground and died instantly, leading to the rest of the combat encounter’s arena not opening up and allowing me to proceed. I had to sit through the dialogue all over again though.
    Overall I had a lot of fun with the Guardians & I hope one day a sequel gets greenlit, there’s so much potential for future titles!    … Expand

    Perfection... Fun gameplay, fun to use the skills, the story is quite nice and sometimes mindblowing... One of the best Super Heroes games ever made, if you never played it because the disaster of Avengers, give it a try, you will never regret.

    This game is so overrated, it’s buggy, feels unfinished, boring sim Tory, repetitive, boring combat.
    I very rarely leave games unfinished and this is one of them.
    +1 for humor.

    Je me suis forcé à le finir, je ne trouve pas le jeu très amusant. Le gameplay est vraiment raté avec des combats nullissimes et une exploration désagréable. L'histoire n'est pas intéressante et vraiment oubliable. Mis à part les musiques qui sont cools, je n'ai pas aimé Les Gardiens de la Galaxie.

    A fun single player story, a beautiful graphic even on PS4. One the best campaign i have played! The dub in Portuguese is the best I've ever seen! They used the same voice actors from the movies here, it was amazing!

    Doesn't reach GREAT GAME status for me, but since i got it with my subscription it was definitely a good game. My biggest complaint, believe it or not, is why are they always yelling?? LOL If you can get this with you PS subscription or used at GameStop, give it a whirl.

    Amazing music, great graphics and perfect story. I also really loved the combat system, so engaging and easy to learn. The game helps you to learn step by step, one of the easiest controls I've seen for a long time. This is a must play for everyone

    This game looks great graphically and I do really enjoy the story itself. Unfortunately, I just do not find the gameplay itself fun. In particular, shooting feels really horrible in this game. It made me quit the game about half way because it just doesn't feel good and given that's what most of the game is, that's one of the most important aspects to get right.     Great game! Really fun to play, good story and really fun characters and dialogues. Sometimes its fun to just take a short break from gaming and just listen to them fight/ discuss some random stuff. There are some bugs present, but nevertheless an awsome game!

The story is very original, I didn't quite like the last chapters, but it's still an excellent game. See more reviews of this game on YouTube you will not regret it.

    Second best marvel game ever made behind spider-man! Great story and excellent characters. The worlds are so nice and vibrant! I almost beat it in one sitting! Some nice twists in the story too and decisions you have to make! Very underrated game

    One of the best games that I played in a long time, I wasn’t a big fan of the guardians of the galaxy but this game made me really like them, the gameplay is one of the best, it really gives you the feel like the old AAA+ games, and any gamer that play this game can feel that heart has been put in to the making of this game.

    Excelente experiência com este jogo. Não tinha grandes expectativas, mas a história e personagens surpreenderam muito pela positiva.
    Em termos de jogababilidade, torna-se, às vezes um, bocadinho confuso. No entanto esta lacuna é superada pele envolvência de todo o jogo.
    Não esquecer: a banda sonora foi das melhoras que já experienciei em videjogos.

    If you like Guardians of the Galaxy then you will love and adore this game. It has everything that makes GotG great. Humour, quirkiness, action, humour again and fun. Gameplay is smooth and graphics are nice. Its great singe player story which acts itself as movie. Overall great game 9/10.

There isn't much combat in the game so there's not much to say, but the aircraft combat is so bad and confusing, they'd better just leave it completely out. The graphics leave a lot to be desired. It could have been a 6/10, but unfortunately, there are some problems.

    First and foremost, the game had a lot of minor graphical glitches and framerate issues at certain parts (at least during the launch days). It's not like they're game-breaking or anything, but are we supposed to see all these on a finished product we paid for?

    Gameplay is hollow, with repetitive combat. (Did I mention you can only control Star Lord throughout the entire game?) The teammate AI is just terrible, leaving you to kill most of the enemies yourself. And don't even get me started on the enemy AI - they only attack you! It's like the teammate AIs are mere decorations.

    The entire game is filled with meaningless QTEs. If you make even the slightest mistake, you get to restart from the previous checkpoint. (Sure, you can turn off QTEs, but why are they even there in the first place?) And let's not forget the pointless dialogue choices that have no impact on the story. Some of them even have a "right" answer, and if you choose the "wrong" one? Yes, you guessed it, restart from the previous checkpoint.

    Saving system is a joke. Who in the developer team thought it was a good idea to combine manual and auto-saves into the SAME slot?

    NO, this game is NOT a masterpiece, despite what others may claim. Play more games and you can rate games better. 5/10 at best.    … Expand

    Un juegazo en todas las palabras, muy buenos gráficos, jugabilidad e historia. Me lo he pasado en un par de dias y solo la fatiga me impedía seguir jugando. Sinceramente no se porque tiene tan baja nota por los expertos de metacritik, pruebenlo sin dudas no se arrepentirán.

    On the negative side of things: There were more puzzles than I would have liked, I was hoping it would be more of an action game, and less about puzzles. Though the puzzles would have been ok-ish, if they hadn't been so repetitive...it felt like it was the same 2-3 types of puzzles, over and over and over and over again. That I could have definitely done without. And the combat was a little juvenile, repetitive and boring.

    Was really more like an interactive movie than a game though, with excessively long 'scenes' that required little more than a few button clicks from the player; amounting to a pretty 'meh' experience overall.    … Expand

Loved the game but man I wish we had a GoTG TV show based on this version of the characters.

    One of the best game I have ever played.
    Graphics & artstyle are top notch. Voice acting truly the best in a video game from my experience. The crew are really funny and relatable. Gameplay is also nice, mostly thanks to the combos and well when the music hits during the fight... goosebumps.

    Graphics & artstyle are top notch. Voice acting truly the best in a video game from my experience. The crew are really funny and relatable. Gameplay is also nice, mostly thanks to the combos and well when the music hits during the fight... goosebumps.
    Unfortunately didn't get the critics acclaim that it deserves but believe me I've played most triple A games and this one has all it takes and more to be one of the best our there.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. one of the best modern game that i've played in a long time very interactive characters. u feel like ur apart of an actual team. the story takes u in for a ride with goofy banter and very over the top guardian's action. so much dialogue that it makes u feel like u got to know them personally like ur apart of this family. this game connected with me in a personal level. it's disappointing that Gamora killed nebula before the event of this game, so we never actually got to see it on what actually happened. so much fan service that u can feel the love, care and just attention to detail when Eidos-Montréal made this. this game deserves a sequel. so many unlockables that's all free content takes me back to ps2 days when dlc's weren't ever a thing.i hope we get to romance with Gamora in the sequel, since it was teased that she has feelings for star lord like in the movies. honestly this game is better than mcu's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in every way. Jon McLaren is star lord he stole the show he makes u invest time into this game from emotional moments down to quirky outrageous moments move aside Chris Pratt, this game version of star lord isn't just what we wanted it's what we needed.

Ran into a few points where stuttering hindered gameplay, but turns out it was the quick resume; restarted and all was good. Seriously, I’d rate this well above both films and some comics.     A quite enjoyable game all in all, with a simple but atractive story and fun characters, that doesn't get a higher mark because of its confusing combat, where you just don't know what is happening at times. You get used to the controls, that are easy to manage, but those controls can't be used at some points, or you just don't know what is damaging you when surrounded by many enemies.     Pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this game. The characters were very well written. All the actors did an exceptional job. Had some really awesome locations with really good level design. Some of my favorite parts were just chilling on the Milano listening to all the interactions. And for the love of God, keep the fridge closed!

    This game was fantastic. I was impressed the graphics, story, and acting where out of the park. Had very low expectations considering the cash grab that was marvels avengers. My only criticism is its combat. It was bombastic in spectacle, but really boring after the first few hours. Would've been cool if you can control the other members of the guardians.

    What prevents me from giving the game a better score, for me, is the length of the game. For me it is too short, I wish I had more time with the characters and some developments.
    The gameplay for is good, however, it is only good because the game is so short, otherwise it would be ridiculously repetitive. Since I wanted to get the game's platinum trophy, I had lost some collectibles and had to play it again, which was not the best experience.
    The collectibles also, some are nice references, some are more story, but I think they were a little boring to find. It is rare that you find a collectible, read the text and feel satisfied. At least for me.
    However, it is a very, very good games, with marvellous moments and really good pacing.
    I recommend it for anyone who likes action games.    … Expand

    I am really enjoying this game, 7 hours in and the humor is awesome. Combat is innovative yet simple. Graphics are awesome on a ps5, this game is great in every sense! I be just finished it . Definitely a game made with love. Please make a sequel .

    Combat is challenging enough where it’s not boring and the story is incredible. Really awesome experience. This was my first game on PS5. All the characters have similar personalities from the movie characters but are different enough to where it doesn’t feel copied.

    This game is really good! The story is great and you just can't stop laughing at all the interactions the Guardians do all along the way. However, this game lacks of difficulty challenge and the gameplay can get a little boring cause of it's lack of depht. I hope we get a sequel with a better gameplay!

    A fun, lighthearted and warm title. The plot is more complex than it might seem at first. Very cool characters, very well acted, written and designed.
    Gameplay is a bit repetitive, but enjoyable. Overall, the game design, world building and concepts are stunning. The environment design in this game is amazing. One of the best contemporary sci-fi games. Recommended.

    I honestly don't get the hype. Yes, the characters are fun and well written. Yes, set pieces can look really good. But the overall gameplay loop is very basic and there is just too much walking and talking in between actual gameplay. The upgrades didn't seem to be very meaningful. And why are there costumes if there's absolutely no replay value or social element? Seems like a afterthought.I honestly don't get the hype. Yes, the characters are fun and well written. Yes, set pieces can look really good. But the overall gameplay loop is very basic and there is just too much walking and talking in between actual gameplay. I wanted to love this, but when you have Studios like Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica and Guerilla Games, pushing out incredible titles you start to wonder why other studios just can't keep up.

    Guardians of Galaxy are the real blast that Marvel fans needed after more than mediocre Avengers. The “worst” part of the game is a mere fact, that you are not able to enjoy every single comment in the background and enjoy very well written characters.

    The story is entertaining, and it features characters from the Marvel universe that haven't yet surfaced in the movies, such as Fin Fang Foom, Lady Hellbender and the Nova Corps. Add in the requisite humor and self-deprecation and an eclectic killer soundtrack, and you get one of the most enjoyable games of the year.
