Madden 26 is the best Madden title in decades, a gorgeous game with stellar physics and powered by awesome AI playcalling. Forget the previous two years and jump on this one yesterday.

EA Sports Madden NFL 26 is the most complete, authentic and rewarding entry the series has seen in years.

We were this close to greatness in Madden this season, in my opinion. If EA would just bite the bullet and get some of those station/network licenses, pair it with these new presentations and the near realistic graphics, we’ll have something special. Lump those all in with some of the best gameplay Madden has had in a long time as well and you would have something that would make the casual fan second guess whether they were watching a video game or a real NFL game. Kudos to EA for a huge step in the right direction and I’m hopeful to see it improved on for next year. Madden NFL 26 is an absolute win/buy for fans, new and old, of the franchise.

Surprisingly, Madden NFL 26 finally delivers (albeit partially) on its promises of truly delivering significant improvements over its predecessors, whether in terms of more dynamic gameplay; a visual presentation that better explores what's already established; and the dynamics within its main modes. Despite some technical issues and controversial concepts, it's the best the franchise has offered in a long time.

Madden NFL 26 is the most solid entry in the franchise in years, delivering a TV-style presentation, more authentic gameplay, and a Franchise Mode that finally feels meaningful. The new QB DNA system and season-long player wear and tear add realism, while blocking and defense mechanics show clear improvements. However, old issues remain: sluggish menus, persistent bugs, inconsistent AI, and aggressive monetization in Ultimate Team. Lack of localization and unstable servers continue to hurt the experience, especially for Brazilian players.

After years of ups and downs, Madden NFL 26 seems to be on the right track. The improvements are noticeable, both in the visuals, gameplay, and presentation. It's finally a next-gen release, and the best part is that it has a homegrown competition that, in theory, should drive development to improve and meet fan demands. It will undoubtedly be a good season for football fans.

Madden NFL 26 is a good game to add to the library for the avid football fan or for someone like myself who has been away from the series for a few years. This installment is also a good entry point for someone looking to get into a football game for the first time or maybe just wanting to get into the game of football as a whole. As a fan of the series and the sport, I would recommend picking the game up and having some fun.

Madden NFL 26 is yet another detailed coverage of the NFL, recreated with high authenticity and graphic quality. In this year's edition, even with the annual pace, EA Sports manages to bring several important new features to refine gameplay and overall quality, while singleplayer modes show enormous potential for months of entertainment.

Madden NFL 26 from developer EA Tiburon is on the right track thanks to some nearly perfect controls that make for a more immersive experience. On the mode side, there is still some work that needs to be done to improve some aspects of Superstar, as well as balancing out MUT a bit more.

Every mode, except Ultimate Team, has been enhanced with more engaging systems and streamlined features. The presentation feels livelier and more dynamic, with a welcome dose of college football DNA. Unfortunately, sluggish load times and a few poor interface choices continue to plague the yearly series.

Transitioning over to Superstar Mode sees the best iteration of this mode in some time with the addition of Wear & Tear and the introduction of the Sphere of Influence. Everything off the field goes above and beyond what most have expected from the franchise in a while, but on the field is where the frustrations sit. The QB DNA and Coach DNA are incorporated well, but issues with blocking and the AI create baffling results that you hope to get past but never truly can. Hopefully some patches can see this alleviated, but otherwise it's safe to say that Franchise and Superstar Mode are officially back.

Madden 26's presentation and franchise improvements are authentic, fantastic, and worth a sustained play. It's still narrowly edged out by the fun and flair of College Football 26, but the gap between these sibling games is closing, inch by inch.

Will you enjoy this year if you hated Madden 25? Probably not. However, it certainly feels like EA is one step closer to joining the upper echelon of sports games if it can continue making improvements of this kind each year.

EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26 manages to be a solid entry in the football franchise, featuring excellent mechanics and dynamic gameplay. The game modes are ideal for those who are passionate about the sport and its tactics, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to play a full season in a simpler and more direct way. Furthermore, the content depth is lost without the inclusion of our language—which is a shame, as there are many fans of the sport here in Brazil.

There is enough depth to Madden 26 that makes it an experience worth the update. It still is not as strong as the CFB franchise, but it is making strides in the right direction.

All that said, the biggest compliment I can give EA Sports Madden NFL 26is that I look forward to playing it again. That wasn't always the case. But for all its shortcomings, I still like seeing my created player running around on the screen as part of a beautiful and immersive on-field presentation. I enjoy the football being played. I like having the sense of control over the fate of my team, and I like all of the options Franchise Mode presents for me to exercise that control. I enjoy Madden again, and that's a start.

Madden NFL 26 is one of the most frustrating experiences of 2025 so far. The developers have several potentially great ideas that seem lacking in execution, to put it mildly. Madden 26 may be in a good place after a few title updates, but at launch, I think you’re better off taking a “wait-and-see” approach. Again, Madden 26 isn’t necessarily a bad game; it’s just one that needs a lot of work to iron out some of its many issues.

Despite a disappointing launch, Madden NFL 26 isn’t unsalvageable. I would imagine many of these problems will be fixed through post-launch patches, but that doesn’t change the fact that despite how strong its fundamentals appeared to be prior to stepping onto the field, much like a nervous rookie, this entry just wasn’t quite ready for primetime.
