Dec 16, 2020In no way, shape, or form is this a “next gen” level game. Not much graphical change, and not much new additions.. NFL should seriously consider dropping EA.
-
Jan 14, 2021Straight garbage they should give everyone who owns the game a refund. The running game has been broken in madden since 2007. It’s terrible with no logic at all every SINGLE play has nothing but glitches and animations. I’m not sure how people that have never played sports in life get to make professional sports games is how this happens EVERY year
-
Jan 5, 2021Really did feel like a different game. Animations seem more realistic than the PS4 version. You feel every tackle through the new DualSense controller. Can't wait to see Madden 22. I can see now why the PS4 version was a copy and paste, spent all their time on this.
-
Dec 5, 2020I have to say I was impressed with the upgrades from the Next Gen. Still feel like there should be more. I am excited to say that I want to see the long term option. This is a start however. I can't wait to see the future ahead.
-
Jan 16, 2021This felt more like a "new" Madden than any of them have in years. Miles ahead of the dumpster fire that the PS4 version was.
-
Aug 18, 2021This has to be the worse game of all time. It’s time madden stops taking our money for a new roster each year. That’s really all we buy it for because we always expect the same trash of a game with pay to win MUT mode. Franchise mode is terrible as always. The game is broken. No skill or football knowledge needed whatsoever. TRASH. Save your money and DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

Dec 13, 2020EA does not deserve the license to make NFL games anymore. If you purchase this game, you are contributing to the problem
-
Dec 6, 2020Same barebones stripped down game since 2015 - only with shiny new Next Gen stats.
Joke. -
Dec 6, 2020This game is somehow even worse on next gen systems. Kickers don't even have to make contact with the ball to make field goals. Game has 0 realism to it. Sad how 2k5 is light-years ahead of next gen Madden.
-
Dec 8, 2020This is literally copy and paste from last gen. Everything is the same with minor graphical touch-ups. Inexcusable. Fix it.

Dec 16, 2020Same problems as the ps4 version with even more bugs. Drops zones are unrealistic and AI doesn’t respond when a player enters their zone which leaves a receiver wide open and impossible to cover the whole field. The cosmetic looks they upgraded are good but that’s about it when it comes to next gen.
-
Dec 9, 2020Garbage game. Not Simulation football. This game is not kin to NFL Blitz 98 than Madden 02-05.
-
Jan 26, 2021Do Electronic Arts even try anymore? They just are lazily hitting the ctrl + c and ctrl + p (copy and paste) keys. Just another year of horrid work from Electronic Arts, and their EA Sports Division. I cant wait to see how much copy+paste will be in the 22 season titles, because we know that's coming. Please just wait for 2k's own NFL game to drop before you buy another NFL game,at all.

Dec 16, 2020Unfinished broken game that does not accurately depict football. The kick off was removed due to a glitch. So it’s no refs, no kickoffs, and college OT rules. In the only NFL game in year 2020-2021.

Dec 13, 2020Different trash can, same garbage. Game is controlled by animations so situations are predetermined more often than not. It's really a matter of how can you cheese the computer or a competitor rather than who actually outwitted and outplayed their opponent. Luckily I got the game for free. Anyone who buys this year after year must love being robbed.

Dec 6, 2020Another.... Lazy copy and paste effort from ea sports. Boring uninspiring product with zero replay value. Animations from 10 years ago.. Every single game mode trails behind other sports games in the industry. The NFL should be embarrassed, boycotting this product. Minimal upgrades sold to customer like they are innovative/great... WE ARE NOT DUMB EA

Mar 1, 2022Devs have suck to new lows with this trash. Buggier and glitchier than all hell. This series has been on a serious decline for the last ten years. I didn't care too much about buying a new one every year when it was some solid gameplay, but the devs are so lazy and clearly don't care at all anymore. They just want to milk us fans. Thanks Obama!
-
Aug 13, 2023Not the greatest Madden, that's for sure. Can be buggy at times. The gameplay mechanics are still Madden though, it's playable and can be fun occasionally. Graphics are solid and football looks good in next-gen.
-
Dec 7, 2020Madden 21 on PS5 exceeds my expectations. As someone who plays Madden every single year, that says a lot. If you already bought the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game, dual-entitlement will allow you to snag the next-gen version for free. It’s well in your best interest to do so with your brand-spankin'-new next-gen console.
-
Dec 7, 2020Madden NFL 21 on next-gen consoles is undoubtedly an upgraded version of the previous generation, but it doesn’t make leaps and bounds to reinvent the franchise. Even though there are improved visuals and EA Tiburon implemented Next Gen stats, this still feels like Madden. A lot of the legacy issues are still here, but aren’t as apparent. When you have a series that thrives on eSports, it’s difficult to switch the formula. The controller feedback from the DualSense is the bright spot of the experience, but the visuals were already good on last gen and just get a further polish here. You’ll encounter changes you appreciate piece-by-piece, but when you finish a game, you’ll feel that it’s still just Madden.
-
Dec 6, 2020Madden NFL 21 has all the same problems as its PS4 predecessor, because it’s basically the same game. The presentation has taken a half-step forward owing to the increase of hardware power, but it’s many yards behind the standard now set by FIFA 21 and NBA 2K21. The increased loading times improve the flow of modes like Ultimate Team, and the gameplay is marginally more authentic thanks to the implementation Next Gen Stats, but an ageing Franchise mode and some tired animations mean this is hardly the improvement fans anticipated.
