After risking everything and switching to turn-based combat with a new protagonist, the Like a Dragon series returns with a more impressive scale, with phenomenal and in-depth optional activities that benefit from the humor and irreverence that makes its essence so exciting.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a true love letter not only to fans of the series, but also to Kiryu Kazuma. It is also a reminder that the two protagonists were not created to replace each other: they both have their value and learn from their qualities and defects when they are together.

It’s the grandest vision for the series to date, and adds an entertaining dash of culture shock to the exceptional, and unique blend of the best noir this side of Raymond Chandler and the surreal, offbeat, sharp humour. Once again, it really should be the last adventure for these heroes, and yet if the writers at Ryu ga Gotoku have more plans for them yet, be that somehow more sequels, prequels, or spinoffs, I am quite sure they’ll be able to hook us in all over again.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is more proof that this is not only Sega's premier franchise, it is one of the best in all gaming. While not a reinvention on the scale of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, this new adventure brings a larger scope, with new companions, skills, and a strong story that resonates specially with longtime fans Even though it's still January, this might be one of the overall best RPGs of 2024.

You will need an ocean of patience to unfold the many wrinkles of Infinite Wealth – to master its Sujimon battles, hamburger mini-games, arcade games, Dondoko Island management, and dating quests – but devote time to its intricacies, and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful, frequently surprising game that brims with goodness and features a heartfelt, wholesome exploration of the true meaning of living.

If you’ve never played a Like a Dragon game before, Infinite Wealth is not the place to start, but only because you will get the most out of the game if you know the history behind it. However, if you have been following Kiryu and Kasuga’s journey for all these years, then it is absolute perfection. It’s everything we’ve ever wanted and so much more.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth raises the bar in every way to take its rightful place as the new peak of the series. Whether you’ve been with Kiryu all this time or you joined the series with Kasuga, you won’t be able to help falling in love with this captivating new entry to the series that perfectly pairs the past and the future, our two favourite protagonists, and RGG’s typical blend of quirky comedy and heartwrenching plotlines. If it’s not my GOTY in December, I’ll eat my Majima Construction hard hat.

Despite this not being the traditional type of story we associate with Kiryu, Infinite Wealth is a fitting send-off to a legend of gaming. In the words of Kiryu, “Even if I’m not as strong as I once was, I’m still me. And I’m starting to think that’s not so bad.”

It's hard to overstate just how important a landmark this is for the Like A Dragon series - a true passing of the torch, finally, and a game worthy of succeeding the action-based legend that preceded it.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of the best RPGs we've played in years. Excellent combat, a wonderful cast of characters, and a willingness to be incredibly weird make it absolutely unmissable. Not only that, but it's so full to the brim with things to do, we could have probably spent another three weeks with it and not finished everything.

It is the culmination of everything great about Like a Dragon's past and present, and an extremely promising look to the future.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is confirmed as the great work of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios after years of bringing us very good games. A complete game, varied, outstanding in almost all aspects and that leaves us expectant of what they will be able to do in the future to match or improve this work.

Infinite Wealth is RGG Studio’s magnum opus. With a vast environment to explore and a few whole games embedded into its core, it’s definitely the best title in the series. It’s fun, silly and beautiful while still being an emotional send-off to Kiryu and his unforgettable adventure.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an overall fantastic entry in the franchise. Stuffed to the gills with content, there isn't a more fully packaged RPG on the market. The plot is charming and heartfelt, the characters are lovable, and the gameplay incredibly fun. It doesn't matter if you're a longtime Kiryu fan or jumped into the franchise with Kasuga; it's everything a Like a Dragon game should be.

Taking the franchise to new heights and new locales, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the pinnacle of the longstanding franchise. The game magnificently pulls off the difficult task of giving new and loyal players the best of both worlds with a new Ichiban-led story while also nailing emotional pay-off years in the making with Kiryu’s story portions. Providing quality side content that is addicting and seemingly endless, there isn’t a single drip of the game that is dry, dull, or not worth your time. Never have I played a title this rewarding and satisfying with its delightful humour found in substories and over-the-top turn-based combat. It may be largely set in a different country with the picturesque and gigantic Honolulu but this is the Like a Dragon series through and through. Infinite Wealth is like an ocean. Let it all sink in. I promise it’s well worth it.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a triumph, and a worthy continuation of the Like a Dragon franchise. RGG Studio has managed to improve on the gameplay mechanics and features of the previous title in virtually every way whilst upholding the narrative quality and goofy nature of the series. The game is not without its flaws, but they are overshadowed by its strengths, and the game deserves praise for its ambition and innovation. Infinite Wealth is undoubtedly an early game of the year contender, and a must play for RPG lovers and Yakuza enthusiasts alike.

Infinite Wealth has made me feel like I've been on a warm, colorful and wacky but fantastic vacation during this cold winter time. The gameplay may be more of the same if you look at Like A Dragon, but the game is very well put together and there is so much to do that you can easily spend hours distracted from the main story with mini-games and fun activities. Fortunately, the story of Infinite Wealth is also strongly crafted and the game managed to keep me constantly entertained. The amount of content can give you dozens if not hundreds of hours of gameplay, and people who really want to complete everything will be able to top that number with ease. Infinite Wealth is simply the best Like A Dragon/Yakuza game I have played so far.

It may have lost the console war, but this new incarnation of SEGA as a publisher is an unstoppable force of nature: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the perfect sequel, which corrects the mistakes and doubts that arose during a first episode that was perhaps too experimental. Every concern I felt when playing The Man Who Erased His Name was cast off within an hour of starting Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It’s not only a perfect sequel to LaD but also an excellent example of a modern JRPG. Most importantly, it finally provides us with a natural conclusion to the story of Kazuma Kiryu that doesn’t feel forced or contrived. With an engaging, complex storyline, incredibly charming characters, and a truly shocking amount of side content, Infinite Wealth effortlessly continues the Yakuza legacy. I can’t wait to see what RGG decides to do next (but maybe give us a bit of a break, as we’ve had THREE Like a Dragon games released within the last year)!

A huge adventure, almost infinite in terms of activities, with an improved combat system and a nostalgic look at the almost 20 years that Kiryu has accompanied us. The story is full of epic and emotional moments, but sometimes it loses its pace among so many hours of gameplay. Some graphical details from the past generation and the New Game+ mode not available in all versions are the main drawbacks of this great game.

Bottomline, Ryu ga Gotoku Studios has another huge hit on their hands with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Rich, complicated stories and characters, with intriguing developments for individuals as well as bonds between characters greatly adds to the mystic, while a slew of mostly-optional side gigs further compliments the outstanding team-based combat. For many of us, the Yakuza/LAD series has become as comforting as a warm chicken pot pie on a cold day. I have spent more hours roaming the streets of Japan (and now Hawaii) in this franchise than perhaps any other game world ever. These games are familiar, enjoyable, and even though the gameplay does not vary much from one adventure to the next, the quality, accessibility, pacing, quantity, and fun of playing these games continues to pay dividends. At the end of the day, whether you’re a series veteran or a curious newcomer, you cannot go wrong with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Infinite Wealth improves on everything over Ichiban Kasuga's first entry. The RPG elements are well polished and expanded and the secondary content such as Dondoko Island or the Sujimon hunt is hilarious, absorbing and well worth your time. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is without any doubt the biggest game of the series published so far and arguably the most engaging one. Each and every part denotes the developer’s passion for their craft and the end result is one of the most atmospheric games I have had the chance to play lately. Despite these misgivings, Infinite Wealth is a fully packaged title that fans of the franchise will be talking about for years to come. Players will certainly be able to enjoy Hawaii as well as spend time in familiar spots in Japan. While I thought there wasn’t much that could be done in a post-dissolution world, the team crafted something that was riveting, built upon existing characters as well as introducing some fantastic new ones. I certainly will wait with baited breath to see what’s to come from the studio as well as what’s next from Ichi and the gang. Occasional pacing issues aside, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a fantastic follow-up to one of the best games in the series’ history. Its refined combat is snappy and satisfying. The three in-game cities are filled to the brim with activities to keep you busy, and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio’s penchant for weaving a compelling narrative remains unrivaled. Throw in a pair of unbelievably feature-rich games within the game in the form of Sujimon League and Dondoko Island, and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an adventure fans of the series can’t afford to miss.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth shows just how special video games can be when they try to be just that: games. While some studios are busier turning their releases into virtual storefronts and others manage unsustainable budgets in hopes of finally getting Hollywood's approval, RGG Studios simply sought to pamper their fans by squeezing the most out of the possibilities in front of them.

Infinite Wealth is to Like in Dragon what Tears of the Kingdom is to Breath of the Wild: bigger, better, richer and more intense. The magnificent picture is marred by a technique that sometimes falls short of current expectations, by a few repetitions at times, and above all by the publisher's simply outrageous choice of content for the Deluxe Edition.

I can’t exactly sell Infinite Wealth as an easily accessible JRPG for anyone to enjoy. It’s a dense game with at least a 100-hour adventure for players to undertake. However, if you’re willing to brave the time commitment, there’s an amazing story here that feels like the most fitting wrap-up for anyone who has loved Kazuma Kiryu throughout the series. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the ultimate effort from SEGA to make the Yakuza series more of a global success than just a Japanese hit. The name change, the Hawaii setting, the voiceovers in English. All of this shows us that they are working really hard to expand, and what also helps, of course, is that the game is truly wonderful. It brings every RPG mechanic together in a colorful, fun, challenging and engaging package, with plenty to do with both Ichiban and Kiryu - characters that always make an impact whenever they're on screen.

Despite changing the name of the franchise for us in the West, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is more of the same that we've come to love. A huge variety of content to dive into and an ambitious, heartening story help to bring this package into one that fans of the series will absolutely adore. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of RGG's most ambitious titles. The union of the two dragons brings a mature plot, full of intrigue, with fun and exciting moments, but also a strong criticism of our society. The improvements in combat and the occupation system make the gameplay even more refined and with the possibility of new strategies. The visual part shows that the Dragon Engine still has a lot to offer and exploring Honolulu is not only fun, but also rewarding. All of this is surrounded by one of the best soundtracks in the franchise. Its big problem is the replay factor, since the New Game+ campaign is paid. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is not only the biggest game in the series to date, but also a real narrative highlight. Admittedly, it takes a comparatively long time for the story to really get going. But then the developers bombard us with twists and turns that surprise and emotionally thrill. The development studio does not reinvent the basic gameplay concepts, but the bottom line is that Infinite Wealth offers enough innovations and improvements that all make sense and fit nicely. However, the fact that the New Game Plus mode is not included in every version is indeed a disappointment.

Despite some shortcomings, the overall experience of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is definitively a positive one. The content is extensive and the production values are very high. The plot may sometimes feel stretched a bit too thin, probably a "side-effect" of its longevity, but the excellent writing of its characters more than overcome this.

With a welcome new location, two beloved heroes and a tight storyline that combines main and sidequests like never before, Infinite Wealth might be less crazy than before, but much more compelling and coherent. Infinite Wealth makes you laugh, makes you thrilled and sometimes makes you cry. Sometimes you find Ichiban and the rest of the gang enjoying a Karaoke night and another time involved in a conspiracy. Some stories are fun and some others are sad. In one of the final moments of Infinite Wealth, one of the characters falls exhausted into the street, beaten down by everything that just came before. As he does so, he looks satisfied and happy, even though arguably nothing is going right for him at that moment. In a lot of ways, I felt the exact same by the end of the game. I was tired. And yet, I was also ready to see what this crew would get up to next.

Honolulu is beautiful, Yokohama feels like home, Dondake Island is irresistible, and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is really a step away from being the best game of the Ryu Ga Gotoku Team. However, not all elements are organically integrated into the adventure, the plot initially struggles to find its place and the right pace, and although the combat system has improved, it is still not deep and manageable enough to support the entire duration of the adventure which, in the meantime, with Infinite Wealth, has significantly extended.

Ichiban's heroic journey to Hawaii can fascinate, but it is not without inconsistencies on the narrative front and in fact it was the portions of the plot designed to pay homage to the past of the saga - and the figure of Kiryu - that gave us the most intense emotional impacts. As long-time fans we are very happy about it, yet we are convinced that the series must find the courage to look more clearly towards the future. Regardless, Infinite Wealth is a great Like a Dragon, a concentration of fun and madness that opens this 2024 video game in the best possible way.

2024 started strong with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, a more than worthy sequel to the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio franchise. It is one of the longest and most extensive games but it has the original formula, a series of interesting new features were added. We have too many side activities that can overwhelm older players.

It feels rare to play a game that coheres so completely around its protagonist and his value system; rarer still given those values are puppyish enthusiasm, unquestioning compassion and the unashamed pursuit of interactive entertainment. [Issue#395, p.100]

At times, Infinite Wealth feels a little unfocused in terms of plot and progression, with all its little mini-games and time-wasters in a positive sense. Then again, maybe that's the wrong way to look at this game. These distractions an essential part of this Hawaiian excursion and a big reason why you're doing it all in the first place. It gives these characters and the world life and vigor - you're here to take a vacation. If you embrace that and let yourself drift through Hawaii instead of running from one quest marker to the next, you'll find this the most positively sunny game of the winter.

A successful evolution of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which makes great use of its Hawaiian setting and an almost endless array of distractions and mini-games.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth lives up to the promised grandeur in its name. It has more cities, more battles, more characters, more options, more of everything. It just sometimes struggles to decide what exactly it wants to hook you with and gets a bit lost in its own nostalgia. In the end, though, it's impossible not to have fun with it.

After sinking over fifty hours into Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to get to the story’s end, the game is an easy recommendation. The story is over-the-top bananas in the best way possible, and the twists and turns are definitely gasp-worthy. The fresh faces do a great job cementing themselves as new favourites, and the addition of Hawaii makes for a great setting change. While there is some recycling of assets and the collision issues are still present, it doesn’t detract from the overall experience. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is addictive, campy, and a game to easily lose oneself in.

Infinite Wealth takes a few curious steps backward, but it gets so much right and once again dedicates itself to goofiness with such aplomb that it’s impossible not to get swept up in it – a true vacation from the darkness and drama of yakuza life.

The biggest Yakuza game to date, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth certainly doesn’t disappoint. While its story is somewhat hampered by frequent diversions to introduce new mechanics or side-content, there’s still plenty to keep you gripped. And while we have to admit that we enjoy the combat more when it’s action-based, the turn-based system here is entertaining. In any case, Infinite Wealth delivers exactly what you’d expect by now: a lengthy story full of surprising twists and turns that manage to elicit a wide range of emotions, and a ridiculous volume of side content that will keep you playing long after the credits have rolled – or simply delay that from happening.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a sublime RPG with a fantastic combat system, absorbing stories, and at-times fascinating story, if it wasn't let down by its drip-fed narrative nature and heavy nostalgic leanings.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth epitomizes the challenge of meeting diverse fan expectations. This ambitious entry skillfully balances legacy and innovation but occasionally falters, resulting in a multifaceted narrative that excels in character development and thematic depth but is marred by pacing issues and an incomplete conclusion. Despite these shortcomings, the game's combat enhancements and engaging side activities, set against the rich backdrops of Hawaii and Japan, create a compelling experience. For series enthusiasts, Infinite Wealth may not tick every box, but it stands as a heartfelt homage to the franchise's enduring narrative, offering a glimpse into its exciting future.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the most emotionally impactful chapter in gaming’s best soap opera. It struggles to stay fully engaging from start to finish due to a supersized runtime filled with exhausting exposition dumps, but developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio delivers a deeply personal story that’s serious without sacrificing its heart. If any video game could leave you with a new lease on life, it’s this.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is both an explosive game that continues to take the series in new directions, but also a nostalgic look backwards that reflects on what has happened during all these years. For newcomers, it's a wild first step into a new world, but for veterans, this game can provoke a lump in the throat.

Bigger, better and deeper than Like a Dragon, Infinite Wealth is the most addicting game that you are going to play this year if you love JRPG, and an emotive homage to RGG's long lasting Yakuza saga. [Recommended]

Its story will be most rewarding to those who have played previous Yakuza games, but it tells a self-contained narrative that is usually pretty good about getting you up to speed on past events. And even when the story does dip into its own lore and history too much, which will undoubtedly satisfy long-time fans of the series, Infinite Wealth makes for an excellent introduction to these characters and gives you reasons to be invested in them in the here and now, with an entertaining tale that manages to stay fresh over the course of its many hours of gameplay.
