LEGO Party!

Undoubtedly one of the best family party games we've ever played, LEGO Party! is beautifully presented and an absolute riot to play. With game boards made entirely out of LEGO bricks and a suite of brilliant minigames, it gives Mario Party a good run for its money.

Going beyond a mere “clone”, LEGO Party! is a great collection of minigames. It makes very good use of the building blocks brand, offering characters and scenarios full of charisma and variation. The same goes for the ambiance, which uses a talk show to bring a lot of good humor to the game. With fun games, especially to enjoy with friends, and great potential, this is a great choice for your gaming library.

LEGO Party is a great party game for all ages. The customization, the minigames, and the way the boards are laid out all make it feel like a match made in heaven.

LEGO Party! stands tall as one of the best games ever in the competitive board game-style genre. Sure, it's derivative of Mario Party, but it also improves on many games in that series in a multitude of ways. Almost all of the 60 mini-games here are truly great, the game boards are creative, and the player customization options feel endless. I do wish it had a couple additional modes and maybe another game board or two, but that's really just because I want more of this awesome title. Regardless, LEGO Party! is such a blast, and a game I sincerely hope catches on so we can keep getting more content and sequels.

LEGO Party has everything you need for a raucous evening of minigame amusements. Go ahead and get a few friends over, pop some drinks open, grab some snacks, and relish in one of the coolest party games around.

If you get invited to LEGO Party! then be sure to go because with its incredibly entertaining mini-games and commentators that'll make you crack up as you explore its jam-packed super-silly boards, this is one funky fresh shindig that you won't soon forget.

Ultimately, LEGO Party has a lot going for it. It was never going to be the superior party game, Nintendo and its red plumber have thrown far too many epic shindigs to be overtaken in that regard, but what LEGO Party offers is an alternative with a different aesthetic and overall vibe, as well as one playable on all platforms, not just Nintendo ones.

LEGO Party is a worthy contender to Mario Party; you’ll need to decide if its strengths and weaknesses appeal to you. With noticeable framerate drops during fly-throughs, even on PS5 Pro, I’m also a bit concerned about how this will actually play on a Switch.

LEGO Party is a charming digital celebration with that signature LEGO magic and some fun boards to compete on. It could use more content and polish, but as a party game it’s a solid pick, especially if you don’t own a Switch.
