Dec 10, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is funny, kind, and after all, it is LEGO… oh and they have Tallnecks.
-
Nov 15, 2024It must have been from caramel and sea salt that two opposites went together so deliciously. This game combines the spectacle and beautiful setting of Horizon with the pure fun of Lego. If it is done with such love every time, may even more games get the Lego treatment.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a surprisingly successful combination of the world and gameplay of Horizon Zero Dawn and a LEGO-game. The story is filled with dry humor and puns, so it shouldn’t be taken too seriously. With a focus on missions there’s no repetitive grind. It results in a short game, but the quality and attention to detail make it worth every penny. Definitely as the combat and gameplay are very satisfying.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a fun experience with a feel-good atmosphere for young and old - even together thanks to the co-op mode! I played the game first and foremost as a Horizon fan who was never averse to LEGO humor. In this respect, I was not disappointed. It just could have been a bit longer, because 70 euros for a 10-hour game is pretty steep.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a playful retelling of Horizon Zero Dawn, blending the iconic story of Aloy with LEGO's signature charm, humor, and style. This isometric action-adventure game simplifies the original's intense narrative, focusing on environmental themes and character relationships, providing a lighthearted, engaging experience for fans of all ages.
-
Nov 14, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is an almost perfect translation of the Horizon setting and characters into the world of LEGO. Effort has been made to translate the mechanics and locales into brick form, with great effect.
-
Nov 13, 2024The balance between fun and challenge is the game's main charm, featuring a wide array of enemies, equipment, and accessibility for new gamers. The cooperative gameplay prevents the experience from becoming monotonous, and the variety of characters and abilities keeps repetitiveness at bay. With all its strengths, it’s one of the most enjoyable games of the year.
-
Nov 20, 2024The single-minded, redheaded Aloy is a wise choice for one of these lighthearted branded games, which exude so many happy, humorous vibes. The stripped-down plot eschews the game franchise’s serious, sometimes perplexing epic tale.
-
Nov 13, 2024Somehow, the developers of Lego Horizon Adventures found the perfect recipe to simplify everything about Horizon while keeping the charm and the nuances that make the franchise so endearing to its fans. The development team knocked it out of the park in translating such a robust experience to a family friendly version that can be enjoyed by gamers of all ages. This is an enjoyable ride for everyone but especially for fans of the franchise.
-
Nov 13, 2024For my money, Lego Horizon Adventures is the best Lego game I’ve played. It does a great job of retelling Aloy’s story, all the while never losing sight of what makes Lego games great. At times, it’s hilarious, and other times, it’s heartwarming. Plus, it looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s also chock-full of content for players to discover, rewarding those who take the time to search every nook and cranny of its diverse set of levels. I do feel it plays things a little too safe at times. But for fans of the Lego games, it has everything one could want from a new entry into the franchise.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures has been an adventure that I have enjoyed more than I expected, however, it does not shine in all its sections equally. The technical section is impeccable, but in terms of gameplay it has certain aspects that have room for improvement. A longer duration and a more varied gameplay proposal would have shaped an outstanding title, a rating that comes close, but does not reach.
-
Nov 13, 2024Though Lego Horizon Adventures is the best looking Lego game ever made by a wide margin, it does still suffer somewhat from the repetition which has afflicted previous Lego tie-in titles. Nonetheless, with its snappy 15-20 minute missions, breezy co-op play and relentlessly lighter, grin-inducing tone, Lego Horizon Adventures also represents both a new direction for the Horizon franchise at large, as well as a great way to get newbies and younger folk involved with the adventures of PlayStation’s marquee flame-haired heroine.
-
Nov 13, 2024With LEGO Horizon Adventures Guerilla Games and Studio Gobo deliver a nice action adventure with a lot of LEGO humour and an entertaining combat system that distinguishes the game in a good way from the titles of TT Games. It's a little short, but if you like the LEGO style and humour as well as Horizon: Zero Dawn, it is easy to make a recommendation.
-
Nov 13, 2024For the LEGO fans, the game is worth it, especially for those who have never tried any game from the original series, or who simply love the casual and fun gameplay that is the hallmark of LEGO games. For Horizon fans, the game feels like a parody that doesn't add much in terms of content, other than seeing gameplay adapted for a wider audience, and that includes a split-screen mode.
-
Nov 18, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures from developer Studio Gobo and Guerrilla brings the lighter side of drama from the Horizon series to the LEGO universe. While it is a short and hilarious retelling of Aloy’s adventures, the overall gameplay is repetitive in its level structure but still is very much a LEGO adventure at its core. A younger gaming audience might appreciate this more than an older one.
-
Nov 15, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures approaches the Horizon universe we love from an alternative Lego angle and manages to draw us into the world in an entertaining way, even if it is a bit oversimplified.
-
Nov 14, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is a lovely looking title that will be instantly familiar to Lego game fans while different enough to offer a new challenge to Horizon fans.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures does not reinvent the wheel as a platformer or a Lego game. However, that does not take away from the fact that it is a fun experience and a humorous way to relive Aloy's first adventure, especially if you experience it with a companion.
-
Nov 13, 2024Graphically very pleasing and with excellent fluidity, the new LEGO game is a real technical breakthrough for the red-brick versions. With its roguelike-style gameplay, Horizon Adventures is a real delight to play solo or with others, but suffers from an all-too-short lifespan. Linear in spite of everything, and without an end-game worthy of the name, the title feels more like a trial run than a complete game, and that's frustrating because we'd have loved to play it for a few extra hours.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is pure fun, heartwarming and light, but still gives room to some challenge for those who seek it. The voice acting is absolutely amazing and feels different from the origin, even with the original voice actors. The story is spiced with tons of humour, which made me actually LOL a few times. But its still a bit repetitive, and suits better for short-sessions after a long day. The Co-Op mode was a bit of a bummer since whoever pays Aloy will always be the "leader" and make other players teleport to their place instead of having an immersive gameplay for both players, even while being mid-fight.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures successfully adapts and abridges Horizon Zero Dawn for a younger audience, delivering a fun, charming, and straightforward experience in a delightful post-apocalyptic world.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a gift for all players, whether or not they are fans of Aloy's story. The story and personality of the characters eat up the scenery in a title that features somewhat linear gameplay. Although it sometimes fails in this aspect, it is worth going through this game because of the fun experience it offers. It is impossible to go more than five minutes without laughing.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures harmoniously brings together two inspiring worlds, including the signature gameplay of both franchises, along with plenty of humor. However, it does lack some depth in terms of world exploration.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures combines action-adventure gameplay with classic LEGO humor, delivering an entertaining experience with impressive visuals. Despite some shortcomings, like limited stealth and no dodge mechanic, the game excels with tactical combat and enjoyable building, especially in co-op mode.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is the most beautiful LEGO game yet, with charming co-op action that leaves too little to explore.
-
Nov 13, 2024With its upbeat presentation, classic slapstick humor, and surprisingly in-depth combat, Lego Horizon Aventures cements itself as a worthy 15-20-hour experience for any Horizon or Lego fan.
-
Nov 13, 2024While the level design left us as cold as the snowy mountains that Aloy must explore, the combat surprised us a lot , forcing us to pay attention to all the chaotic action happening on screen and to take advantage of all our tools. Horizon fans who connect with LEGO humor will have a great time with Guerrilla and Studio Gobo's co-production; and those looking for an accessible action-adventure that can also be played co-op will be able to laugh at an adaptation that is not just for fans , and will probably end up enamored of the universe of Aloy and company.
-
Nov 13, 2024It's a shame that there isn't a little bit more depth when it comes to exploration, but thanks to its stunning visuals, enjoyable humour and fun combat, it's hard to not be won over by LEGO Horizon Adventures. It's light-hearted entertainment for all the family, and a brilliant way to introduce younger players to the world of Horizon.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures won't top any game of the year lists, but it's an enjoyable retelling of Aloy's first story, mixed with witty, Lego Movie style writing, and gameplay that will entertain the whole family.
-
Nov 13, 2024A surprisingly charming Lego-ified version of a PlayStation icon, this action adventure has superb combat and sumptuous, entirely Lego-built environments. Mix in some nice village cosmetic tinkering, great vocal delivery from the returning Ashly Burch, and the fact it's also on Switch and it's a very welcome offering. Sadly it runs out of steam after some 10 hours, so it's short but very sweet.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a lot of fun, and Studio Gobo has done a great job making Aloy's journey full of excitement and humour.
-
Nov 13, 2024Goofy in tone and regulated in design, LEGO Horizon Adventures is an unlikely and amusing inversion of a modern classic, made accessible for a new audience.
-
Nov 13, 2024All in all, LEGO Horizon Adventures is a cute and fun experience that I think both LEGO and Horizon fans will enjoy. The story is an amusing adaptation of Zero Dawn’s plot, the characters are often hilarious, the gameplay is entertaining — if a little repetitive — and it definitely nails the feeling of playing in a large Horizon-themed LEGO set. It is fairly short, and there aren’t a ton of things to do once you finish the main content, so your mileage may vary regarding how much you feel it’s worth the $60 price tag. But if you’re really into LEGO or Horizon, you will probably find plenty to like about this unexpected but welcome spin-off.
-
Nov 13, 2024The very existence of Lego Horizon Adventures is strange. That’s hard to deny. But with its buoyant sense of silliness and glee, this franchise adaptation elevates itself beyond doubts. It’s a frenetic, lively little adventure, and one that indulges in being weird and wonderful.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a fresh take with a visually impressive world built from LEGO bricks and a fun parody of the Horizon story, though it leaves you wishing for more meaningful content and a stronger connection to the original games.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is an adventure that knows how to entertain, managing the difficult task of pleasing both fans of Aloy and enthusiasts of brick-based games.
-
Nov 13, 2024The world of Horizon seems tailor-made for the LEGO world. The Earth of the year 3000 and its mechanical beasts are a delight for the eyes and everything is enhanced by the always excellent direction Guerrilla. A marked linearity and repetitiveness of the level and mission design mortify a little the excellent combat system and a little more "meat around the bone" would be useful because completing Horizon Adventures will not take you more than 8 hours.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a game with a very specific audience: Horizon fans who want to play a funny co-op game with their kid or, in my case, annoyingly immature life partner (me). It may not be worth its weight in gold bricks but it's a heck of a good time.
-
Nov 14, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventure has room for improvement, but as a fan or casual title it holds up well enough. It's fun and accessible, but with a fairly limited appeal - those outside its target audience may find less to keep them engaged.
-
Nov 13, 2024It's definitely a fun game with its LEGO-like mechanics and level of humor, but with all the big releases coming up, I don't think it's going to stand out too much. I'd recommend checking it out, but maybe after there's a price reduction, since it'll be $60 USD on its first day of release.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures entertains thanks to its ironic mix of Horizon lore, LEGO narrative, and visual style. Technical limitations and repetitiveness penalize it, but in co-op, it definitely becomes more enjoyable.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures won’t do much for anyone who doesn’t like the LEGO formula, while also being let down by bland level design and an average hub world, it’s still worth an adventure through.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is a new Lego success story, especially when played with a co-op partner. The game excels in its small-scale approach, and the humor and characters don't get old quickly. As a result, Horizon has become even more accessible, although this also means the gameplay isn't particularly deep.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a nice retelling of Aloy's adventure, featuring some excellent graphics: the best ever for a LEGO video game. Despite a pretty linear structure that tends to be repetitive, the game delivers a surprisingly solid gameplay but unfortunately the campaign is a bit too short.
-
Nov 13, 2024It’s not the best LEGO game, nor is it the best Horizon game, but there’s definitely a charm to the combination of the two. Even when they’re not at their best, these are two IPs that shine, and I’d happily jump into some co-op for this game any day.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a simple adventure that does its job as a blocky reinterpretation of Aloy's origins. Sadly, the level design is almost the same through the game.
-
Nov 20, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures deviates from the typical Lego formula, boasting improved visuals and a more sophisticated combat system. However, the gameplay quickly becomes repetitive, with levels offering little beyond a straightforward run to the next battle arena. Don't expect the depth or challenge of larger Lego titles. Instead, you'll find a decent bite-sized experience that might inspire some creative building at home. The game introduces some revolutionary ideas for the Lego series, but these come at the cost of losing other enjoyable systems.
-
Nov 19, 2024I do think the overall shallowness is a shame, and a game that looks this interesting was begging for a photo mode. It is also great to see Sony release this title on PC and Nintendo Switch on day one, even if the console war gods still demand that Xbox be sacrificed on the altar of platform partisanship. Ultimately, Lego Horizon Adventures is a solid title for kids, or to play with kids, but it’s hard to escape the idea that those same kids are likely a little bit smarter than the challenges that are on offer here.
-
Nov 19, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is another entertaining addition to the long list of Lego video games. It captures the essence of the Horizon series with the humour and creativity we've come to expect from these adaptations. However, its short length and uninspired boss fights are drawbacks that impact an otherwise enjoyable experience.
-
Nov 15, 2024The price/quality ratio cannot be considered as good. As long as your child doesn't wake you up at 3am, crying like "I want a LEGO Aloy!" you can wait for it to come to PS Plus or go on sale.
-
Nov 14, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is a game that shines for its visual fidelity, accessibility and customization. It is a very simple game, its lack of complexity in combat and the repetitiveness of the missions make it more suitable for a young or casual audience. Despite these flaws, it is still a fun experience, if we know what to expect from it.
-
Nov 14, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a fun, albeit brief, romp through the world of Horizon. Its story, humor, world and gameplay may not fully match up to its source material, or reach the same heights as the best Traveller’s Tales LEGO games, but Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo have built a strong foundation for a new style of LEGO game.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures achieves its primary goal: capturing the essence of Horizon Zero Dawn and blending it with LEGO's characteristic humor to deliver a charming and entertaining experience. While it shines through its beautiful visuals and enjoyable combat system, its linear structure and uninspired level design limit the variety, making the gameplay feel repetitive. Even so, it's a good entry point for embarking on Aloy's journey for the first time.
-
Nov 13, 2024As far as LEGO's forays into the world of video games are concerned, LEGO Horizon Adventures is a clear positive evolution of the gameplay model and the collaboration between two universes dear to popular culture. PlayStation enriches one of its main brands and introduces it to new audiences, while LEGO evolves the formula of its video games, while studying a few more possible Horizon sets. I wish it was longer, without quickly becoming repetitive for the most demanding players, but it's well worth the hours of cooperative fun. All in all, it's certainly a remarkable representation of the world of Horizon in the plastic format we all love so much.
-
Nov 13, 2024Let's break the brick: LEGO Horizon Adventures does not perpetuate the exceptional transmitted by Horizon Zero Dawn. However, it has the merit of being very accessible, like the story with a completely offbeat tone. Its six-hour campaign allows you to quickly learn without fuss what is going on in the original game. In the same way, the gameplay offered takes little advantage of the original concept and may quickly tire video game regulars, and especially Horizon aficionados. Something that is felt in the content at the end of the game which offers the same missions in a loop, but necessary for anyone who is a fan of customization / decoration. LEGO Horizon Adventures is therefore aimed primarily at a young audience or even neophytes, wanting to get their hands on the brick.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a clever combination of brick aesthetics with a world full of dangerous animal machines. It works great in a parent + child configuration or for playing with your partner. It runs and looks great and, most importantly, delivers fun. Adults, however, may get bored before they reach the end credits.
-
Nov 13, 2024Here's a premiere that puts a smile on our faces (a shy one, but a smile anyway). LEGO Horizon Adventures is a pleasant surprise, which struggles to convince completely, but does not lack potential. Long-time fans will certainly enjoy discovering this retelling of Horizon Zero Dawn, which also presents itself as a half-fun open door to the universe. Even if the whole thing lacks aplomb, particularly in its handling, the experience doesn't fall short. What's more, Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo deliver a fine copy, both visually and aurally. We love the cheerful cast, who play the game to the hilt, in both VO and VF. Given the promise of such a reinterpretation, especially when we know what the LEGO franchise is capable of, we wouldn't say no to a sequel or, why not, other forays into Sony's universe or those of other publishers!
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is therefore a fun but limited project. The bright side of the coin is composed of a first-rate technical realization and the successful light-hearted atmospheres, while the darker side includes an extremely repetitive gameplay and a rather limited amount of content. It is a game that gives its best if experienced in the company of friends, but it does not represent a great leap forward, at least from a gaming point of view, for LEGO branded productions.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is an unpretentious adventure that both kids and fans of the series will enjoy. However, its approach falls short of the depth and variety of many other LEGO games, making it clear that it could have done a little more.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures will find an audience in its target demographic of young kids wanting something easy to pick up and play. But a short campaign and a lack of originality hurts the finished product for everyone else.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a different take on both LEGO and Horizon as a series, with mixed results. The charm of experiencing the epic Horizon Zero Dawn story in this family-friendly brickified way is unmistakable, with strong visuals and a fully voiced cast going a long way in making things feel epic. It’s a shame that the repetitive mission structure and overall short adventure stop it from becoming something truly special, not fully nailing it as either a LEGO game or a Horizon game. Still, as far as family-friendly cooperative gaming romps go, it’s polished, silly and sure to generate some laughs for the more casual or younger gamers in our lives.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a cute game that successfully translates most of the franchise’s characters and mechanics into the joyful world of LEGO.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures definitely gets a lot right, but it also lacks the creative flair of its forebears. Fundamentally, it nails the style and tone of Lego, but seems to forget what it’s actually used for.
-
Nov 13, 2024Its story reshapes an adult plot for a younger audience seamlessly, with a strong sense of humor that kids will adore. Like a lot of content aimed at families, my strongest sense of joy is found not in how I experience Lego Horizon but in watching my kids become immersed in it. Levels often feel repetitive, but combat is exciting and tactical enough to teach depth and ask players to consider their approach, even as Aloy may be dressed up like a corn cob, a firefighter, or a pug. It's that blend of child-like style and mechanical substance that makes Lego Horizon Adventures a lovely game to play for parent and child pairings, though it's also just neat to see these usually self-serious characters put through a washing machine loaded with crayons.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures gets so much right, and Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo have created a truly wonderful experience that I’m sure will be enjoyed by fans both old and new … if they can justify that price tag. It’s a shame because LEGO Horizon Adventures is well worth picking up if you overlook that but when, for many, money is tighter than ever, that’s not possible. This is a steep price for the amount of content on offer - even if the game does boast dazzling visuals and stellar combat. If Horizon Forbidden West is also to be adapted, LEGO Horizon Adventures establishes some solid foundations, but I’d want to see a greater level of ambition next time around.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures reimagines Horizon Zero Dawn with a playful Lego twist, simplifying the story while keeping the heart of its key moments and characters.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures faithfully recreates the world of machines from the PlayStation game series, and has some fun combat. However, it is aimed squarely at younger players, and is rather brief. A fun and accessible introduction for newcomers, but returning fans will find this diversion not as worthwhile.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a very simple game aimed at children. Despite good graphics and interesting combat, the gameplay is generally very repetitive, there is no incentive to explore the maps and the dialogues are bad.
-
Nov 26, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures is a weird game. On one side it is well-designed, looks good, and the voice performances are outstanding. On the other hand, I am not sure it will have a wide appeal. Horizon is the most successful polarizing game I have ever seen. Everyone has played it and it feels like a majority do not care for it. Combine that with a LEGO game and you get an awkward experience that feels like the definition of “who is this for?” Still, it is a solid game that anyone who wants more of that world will certainly enjoy.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is a heartfelt attempt to retell Aloy's story. It can get tedious with short and not very varied levels, but it also offers a lot of fun in combat and co-op. It's a shame that it all only lasts a couple of hours, and that Sony went too far with the release price.
-
Nov 13, 2024Guerrilla Games together with Studio Gobo is venturing into a LEGO game based on Horizon: Zero Dawn. The result is a game that mostly feels very lighthearted thanks to the LEGO humor. The voice-acting is also excellent and so is the combat in the game. At the same time, that is also the problem, as the focus is so much on the combat that everything else feels rather boring, which in turn is due to the lack of exploration options and very limited platforming. At its core, not necessarily a bad game, but it could've been so much more, because it has potential.
-
Nov 13, 2024In many regards, LEGO Horizon Adventures accomplishes what it set out to do: it effectively summarises the story of Horizon Zero Dawn into an approachable all-ages adventure. However, in simplifying the mechanics of Horizon Zero Dawn, they have omitted what makes Horizon and LEGO games special. The Horizon world has been lovingly reimagined in LEGO but overly basic combat and a lack of interactivity hold it back. LEGO Horizon Adventures is salvaged somewhat by a gorgeous art style, a fun retelling of the story and well-executed cooperative features, but the pieces don't quite all click into place.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures carries over a lot of the things previous Horizon games did well, offering lush visuals, a likable cast, and a wide range of robo dinos to take down. Unfortunately, not everything survived blockification, with an overly-simplified story, sometimes-unsatisfying core gameplay, bland level design, and an overall lack of content resulting in a Lego game that’s a few bricks shy of a load.
-
Dec 3, 2024On paper, the Horizon and LEGO association could have made sparks, but Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo would have needed more production time to follow through with their ideas, and especially a real LEGO game. Apart from its devastating visuals that make it the most beautiful LEGO game ever created to date, LEGO Horizon Adventures disappoints in its overly linear structure, its limited and much too academic gameplay, not to mention its unfortunately insufficient content. Not only does the adventure lack challenge, but it also folds up between 7 and 9 hours of play, depending on how you play. There is cooperation that helps to increase interest, but it is a feature that is basic in a LEGO game anyway. And what about the combat system, which is far too limited and never evolves during progression, making the game monotonous and devoid of interest. By trying to please both young and old players, LEGO Horizon Adventures unfortunately appeals to no one. It's a shame, because there were some good ideas to explore.
-
Nov 14, 2024After a number of lovingly crafted parodies of global franchises, Lego has turned its playful sights to 2017’s sprawling epic Horizon Zero Dawn. Lego Horizon Adventures looks incredible but this reimagining is too simple for long term fans and not inviting enough for newcomers. Add in the non-stop stream of banter, repetitive levels and some annoyingly challenging battles, it’s hard to know who this crossover is for.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures adapts the universe of the Sony franchise well and brings lightness and humor to the PlayStation Studios production, although it is a duller adaptation than the original series. When compared to the other LEGO games, the game falls short due to some overly simplistic level design decisions. The story tries to be funny in a forced and flawed way, the gameplay is repetitive and tires you out after 30 minutes.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures isn't amazing, and it doesn't even aim to be. With beautiful visuals even in performance mode, the game delivers a fun and irreverent story stitched together with competent gameplay. Because it's short, the title barely flirts with repetitiveness, and it's a good light adventure for those looking for some relaxation. The story could delve a little deeper into the details of Zero Dawn... but we already have the original game for that, right?
-
Nov 13, 2024This kind of Hades for the little ones relies on good humour, simple gameplay and beautiful graphics, but fails to deliver anything that really makes you enjoy playing the game.
-
Nov 13, 2024A small action game with very good handling and an art direction on a par with the original, we were nonetheless expecting a little more entertainment from this new LEGO title in the Horizon universe.
-
Nov 13, 2024The best-looking Lego game ever and the most fun Aloy and the rest of the Horizon Zero Dawn cast has ever been, in this cheerful but shallow spin-off.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures looks absolutely amazing, but its gameplay is lacking in almost every way. Kids could nonetheless find fun in hunting machines in the coop-mode.
-
Nov 13, 2024As demakes go, this was an interesting experiment, but it’s a long way off being as gripping a game as Horizon Zero Dawn or Horizon Forbidden West. But if the goal was to dress Horizon up in a way that will appeal to younger players, maybe it will do the job and ultimately nudge new audiences towards the mainline games. Mission accomplished? Maybe.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is a funny platformer that avoids adapting the source material’s complex lore and opts for simple, repetitive levels that become tiresome quickly. However, despite heartfelt vocal performances and beautiful world design, Lego Horizon Adventures fails to reach its full potential.
-
Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures has left us feeling somewhat torn. On the one hand, this is a charming, kid-friendly take on Sony's popular series that successfully translates the story, characters, and combat into the LEGO realm — and with real visual polish to boot. On the other, once the novelty wears off, level design feels vacant and repetitive, almost never engaging you with the sort of platforming or puzzle solving you might expect. There's absolutely fun to be had here, especially the combat, but some fundamental design decisions let the side down.
-
Nov 13, 2024If you’re a big fan of the Lego game formula and either love Horizon Zero Dawn or have no interest in ever playing through it, there’s some fun to be had blasting through the game, especially if you have someone to co-op it with. But for me, I quickly found the entire experience very repetitive and not a true representation of what makes Horizon special. Look, I’m a Lego fan. But this time around, I feel it really doesn’t do the source material justice.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures isn't a perfect fit, but Sony's charmer snaps together where it counts.
-
Nov 13, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures is a good game, but it’s about as shallow as a video game can be, and sometimes even less. It’s a shame for both fans of Lego and Horizon, as this is one I thought could be a big step for new Lego games based on more iconic IPs. It would feel much more worthwhile at a lower price tag, and though there are still plenty of reasons to enjoy the experience, it could have been so much more. As is the case with Horizon’s history, Lego Horizon Adventures is just… whelming, at best.
-
Nov 13, 2024While I'm sure that some of my disappointment can be chalked up to its younger target audience, the truth of the matter is a tougher pill to swallow: Lego Horizon Adventures is a half-decent game, but at the end of the day, it's not a good Horizon game, and it's certainly not a good Lego game. Somehow, it manages to be less than the sum of its parts.
-
Nov 14, 2024Lego Horizon Adventures struggles to capture the interest of both child and adult players. The game world and story, originally designed for an older audience, remain too complex for young minds yet too shallow for adults. Although it aims to be accessible for all ages, even for those unfamiliar with Horizon, it ultimately feels unfocused and underwhelming. The quality doesn’t measure up to past Lego titles, making it clear that it’s the work of a different studio.

Nov 22, 2024Lego Horizons Adventures had so much potential by mixing two iconic franchises: Lego and Horizon. Unfortunately, it misses the mark by a lot. Instead of something memorable, the result is an underwhelming experience with a dull reinterpretation of Zero Dawn's story, repetitive combat, and almost zero exploration. Even though it's only 6 hours long, which is a disgrace for the 60-dollar price tag, it's still not worth your time. Unless you're a parent looking to keep your kid occupied for the evening, Lego Horizon Adventures is a hard pass.

Nov 13, 2024LEGO Horizon Adventures does some things better than the other LEGO games, and it does some things worse. It has better graphics, polish, and combat than any other LEGO game I've played, but it suffers a lot from uninspired level design and general dullness. It's so mind-numbingly easy in what I assume is an attempt to appeal to children, but I imagine most kids will be bored by the game long before the credits roll. LEGO Horizon Adventures is technically a well-made game, but it is not a fun one to play.

Nov 13, 2024On one hand, it's so simple and easy to pick up and play, with such a wonderful presentation, great cooperative support, and a great degree of charm that it becomes very, very easy to love. But at the same time the gameplay often feels too predictable, the customisation systems disappoint, and even after acquiring every Gold and Red Brick available I still cannot figure out who this game is aimed at. With the recent remaster and even the relative recency of the original PS4 launch, it's hard to point a finger at this game and call it a must-play, especially since compared to pretty much every other Lego game available it lacks in almost every metric.

Nov 18, 2024You can make anything into LEGO, but you shouldn't always: a relatively grown-up open-world game doesn't make a good mini-level co-op kids' game. Mediocre combat, little iconic lore, there's not much here to get you through the worst version of Horizon.

Nov 13, 2024Now having attained the Platinum, I can say with certainty the game is in no way, shape or form worth the price of a new AAA release. From its technical issues to the confounding game-design choices, it’s a bizarre spinoff that won’t leave Horizon fans overjoyed and won’t do much to turn fresh heads to the mainline entries.
-
Nov 13, 2024Too simple and childish for adults, and too one-note to convert the kids, Lego Horizon Adventures does little to recommend it to either existing Horizon fans or series newcomers.

Nov 13, 2024At the very least, Lego Horizon Adventures feels like a game made with a lot of love for the property it’s based on rather than a cynical cash grab. Whatever comes next, I can at least say that.

Nov 13, 2024Playing (with) Lego doesn’t have to be pure escapism. In telling Horizon’s story of environmental collapse and capitalism gone wild, Lego Horizon Adventures puts a layer of kid-friendly plastic building block abstraction between the concepts and the increasingly inevitable reality. And that makes it not only manageable, but also shareable.
