From just about any standpoint, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an unequivocal triumph. Although the game adheres to a strict philosophy of medieval realism — and, as such, includes some trying sections, particularly for certain builds — there is just nothing else quite like it. Steeped in historical fact, and allowing for a deep level of role-playing immersion, the continuation of Henry of Skalitz’s tale is a masterclass of storytelling filled with an unforgettable cast of characters, many of whom are pulled straight from the pages of history. The game’s scope is also greatly expanded, with one narrative twist or turn after another, as well as some heavy-hitting set pieces to round out the experience. Simply put, the team at Warhorse has created a banger of an RPG, and a must-play for fans of the genre.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 refines everything the original did well, with stunning graphics, engaging storytelling, and more balanced combat. It's one of the best medieval experiences available, faithful to the series' realistic proposal.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is an unapologetically unique RPG that takes everything that was great about the original and takes it to the Nth degree. It's a cinematic, historically charged epic with a sublime open world to explore, a depth of systems to master, a wealth of meticulously designed quests to complete, and a sandbox survival format that makes simply existing in this world a satisfying and rewarding experience. Some minor issues carry over from the past campaign, and it still remains a game that will alienate more casual players. But all in all, this is a monumental RPG in terms of scope, scale, and quality. I used to long for an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake. But now, I feel sated by the Bohemian masterpiece War Horse has created.

A slow and difficult start, but well worth the effort: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 delivers a grand medieval world and fills it with many quests, exciting NPCs and, above all, endless role-playing systems that are very reminiscent of this genre's long forgotten ambitions.

Fortune favours the brave, the family motto of the noble Capon line and the creed of developer Warhorse Studios. In daring to deliver its singular vision for a game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 transports even the most grizzled genre veterans back to a time of truly immersive video game experiences. Challenging, uncompromising, and thoroughly engrossing, it's in a league almost entirely of its own.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a triumph, weaving complex systems together in an incredibly immersive medieval world that remains a joy to explore even after countless hours. The story is thoroughly enjoyable, despite some iffy voice acting, and the challenging combat is a blast to master, all making for one of the best RPGs in years.

In an age where games are fighting harder than ever just to succeed, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 should not be one to pass you by, as a return to form for the RPG genre. It’s not just a game about history - it’s a game that feels like it’s making history.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a special RPG that ranks with the Skyrims and Witchers of its genre. Despite a high learning curve, I found myself lost in its clutches for hours on end, immersed in the world of 1400s Bohemia. An absolutely gorgeous setting that's satisfying to explore, combined with rewarding progression and an outstanding narrative makes KCD2 a lock for awards season.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a deep medieval RPG that demands time, patience, and engagement, offering a rich simulation of 15th-century European life. This medieval RPG traps you in its endless side quests and you don't know when it will let you go. Realism, variety and total freedom to discover and feel yourself in the medieval era, with an epic dubbing in Spanish. One of the great games of 2025, no doubt.

The mini-games deserve a special mention. These are probably the most in-depth and complex we have encountered in our career. And it is precisely these that make the game so controversial. What is usually just an interlude becomes almost a craft that you have to learn and perfect. It is incredibly immersive and exemplary of the level of detail in the game. But the general public usually doesn't have the patience to immerse themselves endlessly in, say, medieval crafts. That excellent immersion slows down the pace of the outstanding game, making it seem reserved only for history buffs as passionate as the creators themselves.

With Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Warhorse Studio has truly outdone itself, crafting a sequel that feels both ambitious and deeply refined. It smartly builds upon the foundation laid by the original, addressing many of its rough edges while pushing the series forward in meaningful ways. The world is populated with richly written characters whose stories are brought to life through dynamic, well-acted dialogues that never wear thin. Quests are intricately designed, offering a remarkable range of gameplay experiences—from tense stealth encounters to morally complex choices—that keep the journey constantly engaging. Though the game isn't without a few minor technical blemishes, these are easily overshadowed by its strengths. The one area that still feels underwhelming is the combat system, particularly in melee encounters, which can come off as clunky and lacking fluidity. Even so, Deliverance II stands as a confident and compelling step forward for the franchise, promising a historical RPG experience that's richer and more immersive than ever before.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a complex and extensive game with countless systems that require dedication to be properly used. Although it is a great video game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 may fall into the conversation of not being an experience for every player, which is understandable due to its overwhelming character progression system. However, over time, you will find a thought-provoking title where every decision you make matters, and the outcome is just a piece of the puzzle in Henry's life.

Warhorse Studios has delivered an excellent RPG and sequel. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a near total package, with great writing, acting, and a level of immersion that will have you running down every single quest in fear of missing out on a special moment. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a very complete title, as it has a large number of missions to complete, tasks to discover and two maps that make the first installment fall short. Add to that a challenging difficulty that may be to the liking of those who demand a lot from these games.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a highly refined sequel that showcases a studio brimming with hard-earned confidence. Its slow-burn progression is enriched by an authentic medieval setting, featuring some of the most stunning and natural forests we've ever seen, along with detailed A.I. behaviors. One can easily lose themselves for tens of hours roaming Bohemia, solving the myriad of well-written issues faced by its villagers.
  30. 90
Though not without some flaws inherited from the previous game, Warhorse Studios has nonetheless done it again with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. An eye-wateringly authentic, historical open world RPG that will utterly take over your life with its evocative depiction of Medieval Europe and frequently hilarious side quests, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the single most immersive medieval power fantasy there is and the first essential RPG of the year.
  31. 90
The big selling point of Kingdom Come Deliverance II is also its biggest potential drawback. You’ve got to be genuinely interested in the history that it depicts to find it immersive. I do wonder whether some people will come in expecting a Skyrim-like or a first-person Witcher experience and end up disappointed with this. It’s not that kind of game. It’s far more grounded and gritty, but if reading Tolstoy or Yoshikawa appeals to you, then Kingdom Come Deliverance II is very much for you.

As a sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 doesn't reinvent the wheel. It does improve on the formula of the original game in various ways, however, and features a story with more impactful choices. If you would like to enjoy RPG games some more, stay away from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Warhorse studio sets the bar so high that the competition will have a hard time jumping over it. A beautiful world, a ton of out-of-the-box ideas and a great story have come together to create an outstanding, though not perfect, work of art. A phenomenal sequel that brings the adventures of Henry of Skalitz to a a satisfying conclusion. A bold, atmospheric, brilliantly written game loaded to the brim with content. Its only problem at the moment are the bugs, so keep your fingers crossed that they get fixed as soon as possible.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a well refined sequel that remains very faithful to its unique predecessor. That's great for fans of part one, because here they get what they like, just bigger, better, and more technically mature. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 irons out all the rough edges in its predecessor to be crowned one of the greatest and most special RPG experiences ever. It's true that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is very similar to the first episode with the same structure, the same gameplay, the same assets, the same flaws and still residual bugs that sometimes make you smile, but Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is an RPG of quite incredible depth, with a proposal so radical and so against what is done in AAA video games that it totally goes off the beaten track. I hadn't done the first episode, just watched the tester at the time play it and I didn't understand the craze. I won't hide from you that the first 15 hours were painful, sometimes painful, because once again, the proposal was so radical that it went beyond my codes, my habits. Nevertheless, we feel that behind this harshness, this almost unhealthy rigor hid a game of great richness and I am not unhappy to have persevered, because the gratification is great, but the pleasure is also total. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is definitely not a game for everyone, but if you can buy into the proposition, then you're in for a game like no other.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 builds on the foundation of the original, delivering an excellent adventure. The world is gorgeous and inviting to explore, the characters are engaging, interesting and fun, with humor not shunned. In addition, the gameplay is incredibly deep, if a bit inconsistent at times. Deliverance II demands unwavering fealty from its players, and the punishment for being lax in your duties can be severe. But if you're willing to go along with its more peculiar quirks, it offers a rare amount of freedom for a modern roleplaying game. Indeed, it's arguably a truer RPG than Bethesda's recent efforts, certainly a closer companion to Oblivion than Starfield is. And while its writing or characterisation aren't up there with those of The Witcher 3 or Baldur's Gate 3, its quest design is every bit as ingenious. [Issue #408, p.100]

The early hours feel like the playable equivalent of being sent to military school, and demand saintly patience – but it’s an investment that pays off. Much like in Red Dead Redemption 2 before it, I happily lose hours wandering around this vast simulation, curious to see what wonder and depravity I might stumble on. It’s telling that despite spending more than 115 hours in Bohemia, I have yet to roll credits on the main quest line. If you’re uninspired by the prospect of roaming yet another frictionless open world where everything comes easy, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a breath of fresh air – scented with just a hint of dung.

Henry has been waiting for a chance to reclaim some of what was lost during his first adventure. He’s older and a little bit wiser, though still hot-headed when he wants to be. His is a tale meant to be expanded upon as you take control of his actions. Embrace being the narrator of his story, don’t shy away from it. Henry of Skalitz is yours to command, do him justice and give him an adventure filled with the complexities befitting this honest, hardworking man. There’s a lot of loss and bloodshed during this hostile period, so make sure Henry sees the world before he’s forced to endure the hardships he’s unwittingly set in motion.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is everything we could have expected from a sequel, and more. Warhorse Studios delivers in 2025 an RPG that is solid on its foundations and striking in its visual and playful realism. With its authentic combat and “organic” progression, the game published by Deep Silver is unrivaled in fully immersing us in a breathtaking feudal Bohemia. Unfortunately, this sequel is not without its flaws, starting with its restrictive save system, several technical problems and especially its sometimes improvable playful narration. The fact remains that this Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a singularity in the current landscape that should be applauded and encouraged.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues to fulfil the uncompromising vision of the first game. It weaves together a world of lords, knights, peasants and bandits in medieval Europe, with poor Henry of Skalitz caught somewhere in the middle just trying to cope. It's grand in scale whilst being full of fine details and it sometimes gets in its own way a little bit, but if this is your kind of game it'll be one that you don't want to end because there's nothing else quite like it.

Henry is a fun character who, especially alongside Hans Capon, makes for an entertaining partnership. The medieval map is a technical milestone with gigantic regions and a population and animals that really seem to have life. The quests are mostly quite interesting and, apart from a few accessibility issues and some rather boring combat, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is probably the best medieval RPG without dragons and other medieval fantasy elements.
  58. 70
A complex and wildly ambitious medieval life simulator that basks in historical detail and will happily take over months of your life, even if its radical sense of freedom can create unintended impasses.
  59. 70
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an incredibly ambitious RPG venture that soars when all its moving system parts and systems work as they’re meant to. As promised by Warhorse Studios themselves, protagonist Henry can be just about whatever you want him to be, whether that’s a wise diplomat, a mischievous thief or a drunk who finds himself regularly in barfights and down in the dirt. This is bolstered by meaningful skill specialisations, a strong bond between Henry and Hans and a story with exciting twists and turns. However, immersion is broken often with disappointing bugs, odd narrative choices that don’t bear weight and the fact female characters don’t get to do much of anything. A good game that could’ve been amazing had it been given a little longer to cook, Warhorse’s follow-up is a fun time despite all its obstacles but isn’t quite ready to be crowned victor just yet.
  60. 60
By aiming for authenticity and committing to character growth by repetition, Deliverance II walks a dangerous tightrope. Its uncompromising nature won’t be videogamey enough for many players and wilfully renders some components such as combat unappealing.
