This might not be the biggest Killing Floor launch ever, but it might be the best-built one — at least once the performance issues are patched up. You get fewer weapons and perks, but they’re better designed, more interesting, and full of potential thanks to the new mod system. The side objectives and movement upgrades push things forward just enough without losing what made the series fun in the first place. I have so much faith that this will build upon itself to be as much of a titan as Killing Floor 2 eventually was. As a fan from the start, I feel compelled to credit it for that.

Killing Floor 3 is a worthy sequel that upgrades everything they did well for the better. It may have a few audio bugs, lackluster story missions and some drops in frame rate when playing online with a full lobby but its addictive gameplay loop, fun arsenal of weapons and gadgets and the high replayability courtesy of the revamped perk system will keep Killing Floor 3 trucking along. Bring on the Halloween update!

With more hits than misses, Killing Floor 3 is a solid co-op shooter that thrives on relentless action and stands out thanks to its addictive progression loop. While it’s true the game still lacks enough content to feel fully fleshed out, it serves as a strong entry point for newcomers to the series. Its touch of horror, drenched in blood and gore, gives the experience a unique finishing touch.

To sum up Killing Floor 3 is difficult because there is so much to love and yet a decent amount of frustration. Great gameplay, online co-op and superb sound design and score should have seen the game launch to more fanfare. Sadly, a non-existent story, middling visual presentation due to bugs, and a lack of content will sour the experience for some players. There is a great game to be had here, even with the usual live service shenanigans! It’s a case of whether you can see the wood for the trees. I hope the post launch content comes thick and fast like the gameplay.

As I expected, your mileage will Killing Floor 3 will likely depend on the friends you bring to the party. Fortunately, crossplay between PC and consoles makes that easier than ever. Unfortunately, if you don’t have some buds on hand, the content here might not keep you hooked in for more than a few hours. The difficulties remain a way to bring the greatest chaos to this fight, where Normal can be handled solo, Hard is good for groups, and Hell on Earth is absurdly hard, but it’s still a limited array of content that feels tough to grind in the later stages by yourself. I’m happy with this starting course. I’m going to play Killing Floor 3 for dozens of hours with my friends. And I look forward to seeing how this game grows as Tripwire adds more to what I consider a very nice start.

Killing Floor 3 stands out for its cooperative action, controlled chaos, and total customization. However, its lack of game modes makes it repetitive over time.

Killing Floor 3 goes straight to the point: mowing down hordes of enemies while upgrading along the way, which is always fun. However, it still feels like untapped potential lingers beneath the surface. Even so, it delivers a rewarding experience at times—especially when played with friends.

The gameplay of Killing Floor 3 is perfectly fine with above-average combat. In addition, the range of maps and weapons is also very varied, which adds to the fun, and the soundtrack deserves a special mention as it fits perfectly. However, we cannot ignore the fact that in terms of content, it is still a bit thin at the moment, and the story also lacks depth. Finally, the performance could be improved. So there are a few points of criticism to take into account. However, the history of this developer with previous games teaches us that it will ultimately be rectified.

Killing Floor 3 might feel a little bare bones at present, but there's still plenty to enjoy when you're blowing off zed's body parts with your friends.

Considering Killing Floor 3's core premise, the game is a success: fighting waves of monstrous enemies using powerful weapons and gadgets is always fun, especially with a well-coordinated squad. The problem is that, despite offering good variety at first, things become repetitive and uninspiring over time. It's a good suggestion for FPS fans or players who enjoy more hardcore cooperative games.

Killing Floor 3 is a zombie shooter that can be entertaining, especially with a group of friends. However, its simplicity and limited content keep it from being a fully reliable recommendation.

There's certainly fun to be had with Killing Floor 3. Killing waves of demons is as enjoyable as ever, but some of the changes here are unfortunate, and the new additions don't wholly make up for them. There's some work to be done by Tripwire to allow this game to fulfil its potential, then, and it's up to you if you want to jump in in the meantime.

Killing Floor 3 is like a McDonalds at 3am after a big night out. It’s basic and definitely not nutritious, but when you’re in the right mood, it hits the spot. If you’re after deep narrative or refined polish, look elsewhere. But if you and your mates just want to splatter monsters with some cracking gunplay and a healthy dash of chaos, you’ll find plenty to enjoy here.

Killing Floor 3 is a good sequel, with interesting additions and the refinement of a formula that works as well as ever. However, it has little launch content and relies too heavily on its progression system.

If you enjoy basic horror-styled shooters, I wouldn't say this is a bad purchase at all, even though in its current form it doesn't evoke the same positive impression as its predecessor. Personally, I'm enjoying my time with the game still, despite its flaws.

Killing Floor 3 is NOTHING like the older games—and while that’s not all bad, it loses much of the chaotic charm in trying to be something new. It takes itself too seriously, trading identity for polish, but without the baggage of its predecessors, there’s still fun to be had.

While its frantic cooperative action, improved mobility, fun gore, and solid map design make it enjoyable with friends, Killing Floor 3 suffers from repetitive waves, lack of content, downgraded class system, generic art direction, and missing features, feeling more like an early access release that needs substantial updates to reach its full potential.

In its best moments, Killing Floor 3 delivers absolute shooter fever dreams. The rest is standard stuff that squanders any potential.

Killing Floor 3 is bloody and fun, but stuck in the past: a solid co-op shooter with old-school charm, yet lacking innovation and at risk of becoming repetitive without fresh content.

Killing Floor 3 doesn't live up to the standards of its predecessor, but rather offers a mediocre, basic shooter.

We recommend Killing Floor 3 to those who want a quick dose of bloody chaos with friends, but not to those who expect deep and lasting content.

Killing Floor 3 tries to refresh its formula with technical improvements and more robust systems, but fails to maintain the spirit that made the series famous. The game succeeds in visuals and customization, but stumbles due to the lack of content and the exhausting repetition of the same structure. For new players, it’s a reasonable entry point. For series veterans, it may feel like an ambitious attempt that forgot its roots.

In an era dominated by generic online shooters, you start craving something fresh and original — like Killing Floor 2 was back in the day. Where’s the joy and fun of mowing down hordes? Where are the endless healing syringes and ammo boxes that helped you survive? They're gone in the third game — now you're on your own, forced to grit your teeth and make do.

Killing Floor III has a satisfying enough base to give it a chance, but the game currently lacks the content to fully compete with its predecessors or the competition.

In attempting to modernise and streamline the formula, Killing Floor 3 delivers a decent but disappointing follow-up to a niche classic. The changes to Perks, weapon variety and introduction of the social hub do little to uplift the core mechanics, and even hinder the best of what Killing Floor 2 delivered. The music and MEAT system deliver the thrills alongside solid gunplay and wave-based survival, but this sequel struggles to build a menacing legacy that can stand alongside the previous iteration.

To justify buying the game now, you’d have to have supreme confidence in Tripwire (whose team has changed dramatically since KF2), and assume that they’re treating this like an Early Access game, but realistically, it’s better to wait and go play the other games in the meantime.

As a newcomer to the series, I expected a wave-based horror FPS but was disappointed by the lack of horror and a competent FPS – I guess I got the waves, though. The feel of the game is quite off. Weapon feedback is lacklustre, the class system is basic and uninspired, and the performance is abysmal, even on the PS5. I guess Killing Floor has its audience, but it's not for me.

Despite some grave issues, I want to affirm that Killing Floor 3 is not a bad game. It’s certainly a bad time if you’re on PlayStation 5. Rather, the low ceiling for gratification that the Killing Floor formula offers has seen some exciting improvements and controversial tweaks this time around. The itch is scratched, slow-mo hyperviolence intact. I’m just unsure where its confidence has gone, as it has unnecessarily overcomplicated every aspect of the otherwise casual horde shooter into a bafflingly opaque mishmash of its competitors’ form.
