I can’t for the life of me understand why developers wouldn’t add an option to invert the camera controls. It’s such a simple thing to do. Even if most people don’t like to use it, it completely ruins the game for the few who do. Since it lacks this option it is unplayable to me. In this state it’s a clear 0/10, but if they add this option in the future so I can play it I’ll try to give itI can’t for the life of me understand why developers wouldn’t add an option to invert the camera controls. There's some fun to be had here, but the game is RIDDLED with bugs and glitches. Nothing game-breaking, but there are tonnes of issues that make it look like it wasn't even play-tested. Frozen vases can't be smashed after being melted and instead just glitch out, sounds play when they're not supposed to (e.g. loud waterfall in final cutscene), and it says "Press B to skip credits" whenThere's some fun to be had here, but the game is RIDDLED with bugs and glitches. In desperate need of a patch.
    Positive: easy platinum trophy!

Nice artstyle and okay gameplay but has some of the worst voice acting and dialogue in any platformer I've ever played. Also, one of the trophies bugged for me, prevent me from unlocking the platinum, requiring another full playthrough to attempt to unlock again.

For a kids game, it's fine and younger audiences may even enjoy it. But there are so many better modern platformers out there

We applaud how Kao punches above its weight with great form, but its more ambitious strikes fail to land, making this feel lightweight at best. [Issue#16, p.138]

Exploration, search for collectibles, clashes against enemies and bosses… the formula is ultra-known, but the work of Tate Multimedia offers a great adventure thanks to its successful graphics and an immersive cartoon atmosphere.

Kao's return offers neither the variety nor the fine-tuning of the big competition, but is largely convincing as a nostalgic 3D platformer.
