Invincible VS is bloody brilliant. Accessible yet packed with depth, Quarter Up has crafted a fighter that welcomes newcomers while offering the nuance that will excite the fighting game community. While more modes and options for solo players would certainly round out the package, this is an incredible fighter worthy of its heroic name.

Invincible VS is an easy game to pick up and fall in love with. I believe it has the chance to have some staying power within the ranks of the fighting game scene. With the fan following behind the comics and animated series, there is no reason why it cannot hold its own and stick around for a while. Throw in a lower-than-normal price point and smaller install size in comparison to other fighting games, Invincible VS is just more friendly to players overall.

Invincible VS is more than just an arcade fighting game. It’s a tribute to the original material. The characters have been given great animation, and even feature (most of) the original voice actors. While some are missing from the roster, the replacement voice actors do a remarkable job. The combat and most modes are what you would expect from an arcade fighter, but the story mode is a great addition that puts all the characters in the spotlight. It is somewhat short, though. It’s more like an episode of a show instead of an entire campaign. A good fighting game needs a strong community to succeed, so the coming months will show if Invincible VS will be a hit. But if what I played is anything to go by, I think most players who come to this release because they love the show, will stick around because they will also fall in love with this game.

With plans for post-launch content already announced, Invincible VS is likely to only improve as its lifespan progresses, which could certainly address some of the current shortcomings. However, with an already solid foundation built upon approachability and personality, Invincible VS is easy to recommend to both seasoned fighting games fans and Invincible enthusiasts.

Invincible VS from developer Quarter Up is an impressive fighting game that plays it safe in some areas, but exceeds expectations in others. The mix of story content that launches into 3v3 battles is seamless as it is entertaining. The game isn’t perfect by any means, but it’s more impressive than it is not.

Invincible VS is a fun tag fighter with solid mechanics and does a great job of using its license to offer an experience that should satisfy fans of the show and the comic. It reminded me how much I want to go back and catch up on the show, which I hope to get to soon. I’m less confident it’s going to become a major player in the fighting game community’s tournament scene, since my favorite parts feel better suited to a more casual audience, but hopefully it finds a community that falls in love with it.

Invincible VS perfectly captures what an adaptation of Invincible needs: over-the-top violence, lightning-fast combat, charismatic characters, and a constant sense of superheroic destruction. As a competitive fighting game, Quarter Up’s work is very promising. The system has depth, the online play is incredibly responsive, and the fights are tremendously fun to both watch and play. However, it’s also clear that the game is a bit light on content.

Invincible VS will be immediately satisfying for the casual crowd, but it also brings genuine competitive potential through its hidden mechanical complexity.

Invincible VS is an exciting entry of a popular superhero franchise into the world of VS fighters, featuring unique tactical 3v3 gameplay, brutal combat, and an episodic story mode whose future chapters and updates should keep the game alive in the coming period.

Invincible VS fully understands its license. Fast paced combat, stylized violence, and a visual presentation that feels more consistent than the series itself. Its greatest strength lies in its accessibility, but that same simplicity encourages button mashing and chaotic matches. The story mode fulfills its role without becoming essential, and the level based progression feels more like a filler. Even so, when two players truly master its systems, the game reveals a compelling technical ceiling and a very enjoyable rhythm.

Invincible VS is a thoroughly enjoyable 3v3 fighter, with a strong cast of characters and some great mechanics that will no doubt make fans of the show very happy.

A fun, fast-paced and brutal tag-team fighting game that seemingly straddles the line between casuals and veterans with near perfection.

Over-the-top violence? Check. Iconic memes from the original series? Check. A solid battle system that cleverly borrows the best ideas around to deliver something uniquely its own? Double check. Honestly, there are very few reasons not to jump on board.

Invincible VS is a very solid fighting game. The story is undoubtedly its weakest point, but the fun you’ll get from the arcade and online modes is enough to keep you hooked for hours.

Invincible VS delivers a fantastic combat experience, offering a level of depth that suits fighting game pros while remaining welcoming and fun for beginners. It masterfully captures the core essence of the Invincible franchise, which will undoubtedly attract new fans to the series.

Invincible VS is a visceral, mechanically intriguing 3v3 tag fighter that rewards creative problem-solving over rote memorization. While it lacks the ultimate strategic depth and frame-data nuance of the genre's titans, its sandbox approach, satisfying hit feedback, and rock-solid rollback netcode make it a standout entry and a genuine recommendation for both fans and FGC enthusiasts willing to experiment.

Invincible VS has a ton of potential to make a splash at tournaments. It’s brutal, frenetic, and fun, and it’s clear Quarter Up made this with love. This is undeniably a sound fighting game, and it really elevates the source material by giving you an outlet for aggression.

Invincible VS is a great tag fighter that utilizes the franchise’s identity to a remarkable level. Its top-notch presentation, noticeable competitive depth, and easy-to-grasp approachability make it a game worth playing for fans of the series and the genre alike. It still hasn’t quite reached its final form just yet, but it has the potential to become truly Invincible.

Invincible VS is a great fighting game with simple controls, but packed with mechanics. It's not easy to master it and will probably appeal more to those who want to delve deeper into its gameplay. The story mode is simple and there are other basic single-player modes, while the online mode does its job. However, the number of characters leaves a little to be desired for a 3v3 game.

Invincible VS delivers a fast-paced and accessible tag fighting experience that successfully captures the tone and brutality of its source material while offering solid mechanical depth for competitive play. Inspired by Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the game stands out with fluid combat, strong character identity, and an engaging story mode, but its limited Season 0 roster and light content offering make it feel like an early foundation rather than a complete package.

Although the story mode lets itself down a bit and the offline offerings are slim, I still had a great time with Invincible VS and expect to lose even more hours to it when the servers go up. The excellent and welcoming mechanics, well-developed roster, and tons of fan service not only make Invincible VS a stand-out tag fighter, but also the game that the series has deserving for a long time.

Invincible VS is a fantastic experience, regardless of whether you're a fan of the fighting game genre and the original series. While the limited roster and bare bones story mode are disappointing, the satisfying gameplay, rich mechanical systems, numerous single-player and multiplayer options, and brilliant netcode will hook you right from the start. I can't wait to see what this game's future brings.

Quarter Up has managed to deliver a solid fighting game with Invincible VS. The focus appears to be on the gameplay, which is an absolute plus in my book. Invincible VS is a snappy tag fighter set in an absurd universe, and we are fully on board with that. It is just too bad that the story mode is insanely short and that there is a lack of gameplay modes. Overall, the game has managed to please the fighting fan in me; I just wish there was more to enjoy.

Invincible VS brings the hyper-violent aesthetic of the source material to an exciting, easy-to-learn fighting game, with a healthy roster of playable characters and a decent amount of game modes. While the story falls short of Invincible's peak, and some actors from the show don't feature, it's still a must-play for Invincible fans.

While Invincible VS serves the brawlers at heart, it slightly falls short when it comes to giving loyal fans a deeper connection to the original franchise. It also could have used more content and tools to help close the gap between competitive pros and players still trying to find their footing.

The fighting game landscape is tougher than Thragg right now, and this Invincible VS—which is clearly geared toward online tournaments—would need a bit more muscle to truly stand out; however, there is no doubt that if you’re looking for direct, visceral action, this title will deliver an... INVINCIBLE experience (read that while humming the series’ opening theme).

Invincible VS delivers a solid and visceral fighting experience that honors its source material with satisfyingly accessible combat. While the mechanics feel deep and the multiplayer is robust, the title suffers from a severe lack of single-player content. The disappointingly brief story mode and sparse offline features ultimately hold back its full potential.

Invincible VS is a title that will greatly please fans of the series, but it falls short in the lack of game mode options for those who enjoy fighting games. The character mastery system suffers precisely because of this, but there's no denying that it's fun to try out every possible combination in fights to test combos, see the insults and jokes between each fighter, and, most importantly, annihilate your opponent in the most brutal way possible.

Invincible VS proves to be as ruthless and fascinating as the comic/animated series it’s based on, drawing inspiration from the bloody history of Omni-Man and the consequences of his arrival. Accessible for newcomers, it’s packed with deep mechanics. The content, however, doesn’t quite make up for Quarter Up’s success, and it actually lacks a truly awful story mode.

If you are someone that enjoys single-player content in fighting games, then Invincible VS won't hold your attention for more than a few hours. However, for those who are ready to go online, then you are going to have a lot of fun with this, especially if you are a fan of the source material. Fans of Invincible are going to go crazy over this game and they did a perfect job adapting to the IP to a new medium. It's a very good 3v3 fighting game but the full package does feel a little barebones.

Invincible VS is the first fighting game inspired by the comic book (and animated series) of the same name, throwing us into a brutal, adrenaline-fueled world where we can unleash incredible powers. The roster, made up of 18 characters at launch, is varied and allows for genuinely interesting three-character teams that can pull off some solid, choreographic combos. The game is fluid, accessible, and caters to a wide range of skill levels: after a few matches, even those who don't live and breathe fighting games will find real satisfaction in the battles, despite some minor balance issues and character switching that isn't always seamless. We didn't find Invincible VS in great shape when it comes to single-player content — there's very little of it, and what stands out is a story that didn't quite win us over, on top of being far too short. Then again, the Quarter Up and Skybound Entertainment fighter is squarely aimed at multiplayer and the competitive scene, where players will go at each other tooth and nail to reach the top. It remains to be seen what impact it will have on the competitive landscape and how it will be received by those who treat fighting games as their religion. It doesn't always shine, but it does show us that something fun and genuinely competitive can be built from this IP. If Invincible VS manages to hold players' attention and listens to community feedback, we'll be hearing about it for months to come.

Invincible VS is an intense, fun, and deep fighting game. It takes risks and makes choices that set it apart from the genre’s conventions, which makes it stand out at the controls. However, it lacks intuitive controls and sufficient single-player content at launch.
  2. Apr 30, 2026
Invincible VS’s gameplay is deeper than it might seem at first blush, with varied fighters and an easy-to-grasp, hard-to-master tag system central to fights. I just wish that applied to the story mode, too. It never achieves the same depth its gameplay has or its source material is known for. I haven’t thought much about the repercussions of violence in Invincible VS, but I’ve certainly had a good time dishing it out.
