Jun 2, 2025Hypercharge finally arrives on PlayStation, fully formed and ready to be added to your multiplayer lexicon. The PvE is smooth as silk and the grin you'll have on your face throughout is testament to how enjoyable the game is with friends. An indie gem.

Jun 17, 2025Overall, Hypercharge: Unboxed is a delightfully enjoyable old-school shooter that harkens back to games of the past and action figure-obsessed childhoods. Being able to fine-tune many aspects of the experience with various options on top of the solid action and exploration makes this one of the most enjoyable shooters I’ve played. If the devs can use the groundwork laid here to deliver an expanded experience in a potential follow-up, I have no doubt it’ll be even better. For now, though, anyone with an appreciation for action and action figures will want to keep an eye on this.

Jun 17, 2025HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed delivers fun Shooting action and creative maps, in a world that reminded us of Toy Story, but lacks depth, variety, and distinct gameplay systems. It’s best for light, casual play—less so for those seeking a deep, evolving experience.

May 30, 2025Hypercharge: Unboxed delivers on its promise of plastic-bashing toy warfare. However, for more mature gamers and fans of the genre, it doesn’t go deep enough, playing it safe with serviceable albeit rather basic gameplay.

May 29, 2025It has a real lack of gameplay or mechanical depth, so while it is fun to experience the novelty of its settings, weapons, and enemies, once all that wears off, there isn’t much left to keep you around. The gameplay feels overly simplistic, the AI is incredibly dumb, and it's missing that energy found in most great shooters. We were won over by the charm of Hypercharge, but not by anything else.
