As a fan of the series since its inception, it is so good to see the original Gears Of War return in all its glory. In my wildest dreams I never believed this wonderful title would ever end up on PlayStation, but I stand so happily corrected. A superb campaign and brutal, yet brilliant multiplayer will endear itself to a brand new generation of players for years to come. Whilst some returning players may not see enough new additions and balancing issues to warrant returning, this game still absolutely rules! See you on Gridlock!

Overall, the game is still very fun, and they've successfully preserved the old style while making movement more fluid. I didn't spend much time in the multiplayer mode—there weren't any players except for a few moments—but I can't wait to play with people once it's released.

Gears of War Reloaded is the absolute best way to experience or relive the adventure of Marcus Fenix ​​and company, now also on PlayStation 5 (and on PS5 Pro it even features extra options that further improve the already excellent quality seen in the Ultimate version). The only problem is that, once you've finished the campaign alone or in co-op, you'll probably want more, and the wait for E-Day seems to be a long one.

Sure, Gears of War: Reloaded shows its age. But that was inevitable. This is by no means a remake. Rather, it’s a solid remaster that updates a classic experience just enough to bring it into the modern world. I wish we had the ability to remap controls, but overall, Reloaded did an excellent job of scratching a nostalgic itch I didn’t even know I had. If there are plans to remaster Gears 2 and 3, I’ll be there, Lancer in hand.

The linear campaign is a true gem and reminder that you don't need a bloated 30-60 hour campaign to tell a compelling story. Gameplay remains basic, yet fun and majorly improved thanks to the enhanced framerate. It also goes without saying how spectacular it is to get the full multiplayer suite included given that most remasters don't even bother. The visual presentation is stellar, bringing what was originally an Xbox 360 game up to modern day standards. Reloaded is a stellar value with its campaign, cross-play co-op and full multiplayer suite, especially on PS5. Would a Gears of War Collection been nice, especially given the fact that neither Gears of War 2 or 3 are available on PC or PS5? Absolutely. What Gears of War: Reloaded does set out to accomplish, though, is successful, especially at giving PlayStation players their first of hopefully many trips to Sera.

It's showing its age now, but Gears of War: Reloaded finally allows PlayStation gamers to experience one of the best campaigns in the previously Xbox-exclusive series. It's just a shame you'll likely run into AI issues if playing it alone. Needless to say, this is a game best played with others, either enjoying the campaign in co-op, or engaging in its competitive multiplayer modes.

I was left wanting much more, especially considering this is the second remaster we've seen for Gears of War.
