Apr 29, 2025Forza Horizon 5 was a phenomenal racing game when it launched back in 2021, and thanks to four year's worth of updates it's only gotten better since. Its status as one of the best racing games of all time is further cemented now that it's on PS5, thanks to DualSense support and upgraded performance and visuals on PS5 Pro. If you have any love for driving at speed, consider this a must-buy.

Apr 23, 2025I don't know if there the ultimate arcade racing game exists, but Forza Horizon 5 is the closest thing to that definition. It has it all, from a captivating open world to more options, competitions, events and cars than you can imagine. It's the perfect “playground” for any speed fan, and on PS5, occasional stuttering aside, performs great.

It’s still a little weird that games like this are coming to the PS5, but ultimately it’s a case of, ‘don’t ask how it’s possible, just enjoy what it is.’ Forza Horizon 5 is still the best open-world racer ever made.

It really is comprehensive, nailing the scope of its world while filling the world with meaningful things to do, offering a suite of multiplayer and co-op possibilities, and free-roam of a boiled-down vision of Mexico that’s begging to be explored.

Jul 30, 2025It is seriously incredible to see what Playground Games put together in Forza Horizon 5, all in one package. I could not imagine a stronger series debut for any game on a platform, as you can easily spend hundreds of hours in this game without getting bored for even a second. While Forza Horizon 5 doesn’t necessarily innovate much from its predecessors, it is absolutely a must-own title on PlayStation 5. It may be the best racing game available on the platform.

May 22, 2025Forza Horizon 5 is a great port of a game that you wouldn’t believe is almost four years old. Panic Button have ported Playground Games impressive 2021 open world racer to PS5 and it might well be the most fun we’ve ever had with a driving game on Playstation outside our beloved Bernard Paradise. The Drivatar difficulty is a bit hit and miss though and we did feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of objectives on the in-game map but they are minor foibles all told. Bring on Forza Horizon 6!

Its long-awaited arrival is therefore more than welcome. That said, be prepared: the sheer volume of content can feel overwhelming at first, the strong focus on multiplayer might not be to everyone’s taste, and the way the game throws cars at you feels like a slot machine in overdrive. But that’s also something you can take advantage of — enjoying a fleet of spectacular machines without grinding for in-game credits for dozens of hours. Immediate and ultimately high-quality fun is guaranteed.

With over 500 vehicles to customize and race in a humongous world map, along with all the various activities, there is plenty for you to do. It is an arcade racing game that emphasizes fun over reality, and there is nothing wrong with that. It makes a wonderful complementary installment alongside GT 7. The greater the variety of racing games there are for a gamer to play, the better.

Apr 23, 2025Despite its age, Forza Horizon 5 is a fantastic open-world, arcade-style racing game. The car handling is superb, there's an overwhelming number of events and races, and the large number of secrets ensures that you'll spend a ton of time driving around and exploring every nook and cranny. The structure and flow are so good that the only game that could match this is Burnout Paradise, a remake of a PS3/Xbox 360 game. Even if your only exposure to this type of game is The Crew: Motorfest, you owe it to yourself to grab Forza Horizon 5, even if you're only a casual racing fan. At the moment, there's really nothing else like it out there.

It isn't perfect — it can feel bloated and overwhelming, the AI is frustrating at times, and the characters and dialogue are a constant weakness. However, behind the wheel, tackling its myriad events and exploring the beautiful open world, it's hard to not be convinced by its optimistic personality and sense of fun. Despite its late arrival on PS5, it still feels showroom fresh.

Apr 23, 2025Forza Horizon 5 is an excellent title that is still one of the best-looking racing games ever made. Nothing really comes close to the level of raw environmental fidelity that Forza Horizon 5 so effortlessly accomplishes across its vast open world. Plus, the car models look great, lighting quality is excellent, and performance is typically impeccable across its target platforms. Panic Button's porting effort certainly does the job too, though the base PS5 essentially comes in exactly as expected. Relative to Series X, it's a near-perfect match. That's not a bad thing at all, as the port is consistently high quality and arrives without significant issues.
