Don't purchase this on console. It's a limited version of the PC game. Many options aren't in the game.

A rather difficult but realistic game, exceptional despite my recommendation against playing it on consoles because the fan packs for logos, player images, etc. are only available on PC. Otherwise, it's perfect because it's very realistic for both easy and difficult tasks.

FM23 on PS5 apparently is the "Touch" version meaning the game you can play on Nintendo Switch. Having played previously on computer, I would not recommend the PS5/console/Switch version as you are missing loads of features - there's a lot of choices you don't get to make. Ultimately it feels too easy or too simplified.

    Missing features include
    - player management (securing player satisfaction) and any type of dialouge including with agents to see if there's e.g. transfer interest. I haven't really had to struggle with keeping benched players happy like you would in actual football management or in the original game.
    - Staffing is highly limited. You have 5 roles in staff: Yourself, assistant manager, DoF, Chief Scout and Head Fysio. There's NO coaches which is huge part of the normal game.
    - Scouting works in a weird way that I haven't yet figured out and you cannot prioritize scouting order of players.
    - Training is really simplified (as there's no coaches).
    - Obviously the controls are not nearly as smooth as with a mouse and keyboard but you can manage after a while.
    - Probably loads more.

Football Manager 23 brings the iconic football sim to PS5 with all the engrossing charm and immersive obsession that made it such a hit elsewhere. It’s a lot to take in, but it’s absolutely worth the time sink for wannabe managers.
