F1 Manger 2022 is a strong management game that eases you into the role of managing your entire F1 team. On the get-go, you get introduced to the basics, but the more complex options are for you to find out. Some implementations leave room for improvement, especially the handling of DRS and tyre-choices. The races are visualized excellently. ideal for those new or interested in the sport, but those that find themselves experts might find it lacking in tweaking options.

F1 Manager 22 is a strong step back into managing a Formula One team, with plenty of depth and a thrilling race weekend experience.

F1 Manager 2022 is a strong first entry in Frontier’s new series, filling a niche that’s been sorely lacking on PlayStation for years. Capturing the spirit of Formula 1 with its strong attention to detail, there’s some thrilling races to be had and we’re impressed by how well it handles race days with its 3D engine. As a management sim, it’s a slow burner and we do wish you could create your own teams, but it still holds a distinct charm of its own. If you've got the patience for the long haul, F1 fans won’t want to miss this.

As far as motorsport management games go, F1 Manager 22 is a cracking first effort from Frontier Developments with just some minor issues that will hopefully be addressed in future updates. There’s a lot to get your head around, but for those who put in the time and effort to learn every aspect, this will be wondrously rewarding.

With some fine-tuning of the AI, the game could own the sim racing manager game niche. This is a good start for a game that seems poised to be the start of a new franchise. Despite current shortcomings, F1 Manager 2022 does make you feel like a manager of an F1 team.
  6. The races themselves are a blast. I found the majority of the races to be completely absorbing and, to my surprise, even more exciting than most actual racing games. But the massive scope of the game is both a blessing and a curse: Hardcore Formula 1 fans will lose themselves in the seemingly limitless options of team management, while newcomers to the sport may be turned off by the steep learning curve.

As an aspiring manager, you enter Formula 1, mainly turning the knobs behind the scenes. The sport is also incredibly interesting on that side and this is presented in an excellent way, albeit with a high entry threshold. Furthermore, F1 Manager 2022 still has some issues here and there regarding the AI and tires, but that will be fixed. A pity is that crashes look visually lousy and it can be very difficult for newcomers. However, connoisseurs of the sport will have a good one here.

The organizing as well as the development of a competitive F1 team that houses a large number of people has been rendered almost flawlessly. But technical problems during a race and lots of bugs pulled the brake on our hopes for something even better.

F1 Manager is a nice collection of elements that most manager sim fans would want, but rarely feels like more than the sum of those parts.

F1 Manager 2022 succeeds in its first steps on next-gen consoles. There is plenty of material to keep you busy and spend hours in front of it. However, there is a certain redundancy after a while.

In 'F1 Manager 2022' you manage an existing Formula 1 team and literally decide everything. Which mini-part of the car will be further developed, which departments will be expanded, which sponsors will be brought in and which goals will be set. Even during the grand prix, you determine the race strategy and try to lead your team to victory. Great detail, but therefore rather meant for a certain niche.

In first place, even F1 2001 was more realistic, considering graphics but in particular crashes that are always the same. When you get for the first time on the game you realize how much it wasn't ready for lunch, with a lot of empty menus in the home and lack of thing to do out of the race. And in my opinion, you cannot think that a player will care about his virtual team as much as he cares about his real one, since if he wants good results he should follow full-length sessions, that take the most of the game, unlike in real life. From the fact that a non-F1 fan will never enjoy that game, that you cannot do almost anything to make your car better and the ui and menus are very unclear, i can say that this is the worst game i ever had. Tire allocation is insultingly wrong. The AI are terribley coded. (So bad, theyl go out on a wet track in quali after setting a dry time LMAO) The races are all just ERS management to stay competitive (why would a team boss have to tell the drivers when to use the ERS every single lap????? Shockingly bad.) And not only that, but the drivers WONT EVEN DEPLOY ENERGY WHEN YOU TELL THEM TO. REGULARLY LEAVING HALF THE ALLOTED BATTERY PER LAP UNDEPLOYED. Idk what else i need to say. Just...an insulting representation of what F1 is. You will waste hours of your life, because your driver will always do something wrong, many times right at the end of the grand prix (almost every time, have fun with scripted events! Reload your save and it will still happen, 99% of the time), and its not like you can fast forward and do well. Your driver will *100%* of the time make mistakes when in fast forward mode. Drivers crash WAY too much. This is such a waste of time at the moment. And it NEEDS to be updated. At least make it so you can save mid race. Otherwise, this game is just rigged to make you pissed. Put sessions on simulation mode, and they'll waste all your tire options. Not only that, it's unbalanced! Finish 1 season, and even a Haas is fighting for regular race wins. Might as well start with Williams, next season youl be fighting for the championship regardless. The radio messages are repetitive and the people designing them dont even know what "option" means in regards to tires vs prime tires. You will be regularly losing time to your driver's ai getting all bugged out behind a slower car, meanwhile the rival ai overtakes them as they should. Theres so many other small issues. It is death by a thousand blows. And oh boy. Are there a lot of crappy blows.A serviceable game. But it needs A LOT of work. Im shocked at how consistently this game will go to lengths to make the player upset. You put points into control to stop your drivers from spinning. They still spin. Every race. Doesnt matter what you do to manage tire temp. They just spin. To piss you off. Its wayyyyyyy more than a F1 driver should spin. Theyd be fired irl. Its shockingly insulting to the skill they have in reality. And to add insult to insult - you cant handle contracts like in real life, you cant hire people for next season, only right away. Meaning youre firing drivers mid season. lOL Full Review »

Solid entry by the developers into the f1 management/sim sphere... Hoping they continue the good work on future installations.
