    If you're after something cerenral and addictive, Evil Genius 2: World Domination on console is a solid port of a very enjoyable game.

    For better and worse, Evil Genius 2 on console is exactly the same as on PC, complete with glitches and menu navigation. It needs a bit of work to smooth out the experience, but the game itself is a ton of fun and well worth playing, however you can get your hands on it.

    Evil Genius 2 on PS5 is as enjoyable as it is on PC, mainly thanks to the great work on adapting its controls for the DualSense and for the ability to use mouse and keyboard on console.

    Evil Genius 2: World Domination was a great game on PC and thankfully it’s equally as great on console. If lair building and managing a criminal empire is your thing, consider this an absolute must-play. Rebellion has done a great job ensuring that pretty much every action you could want to perform is at your fingertips on a controller. And with a robust tutorial system, this is a game that’s accessible to all, regardless of their skill level. Evil Genius 2: World Domination really does make it dangerously fun to be bad.

    There’s no question this is one of the better strategy games you’ll find on console. The controls mostly map well and the systems pair well with a stellar concept. With melodramatic, James Bond-esque music and some entertaining voiceover work, this is a tycoon-turned-strategy title that tests your grey matter and allows you to be the villain for once. Being bad never felt so good.

    Every game has its flaws upon release, but not many games are able to offer the unique coupling of entertainment, laughter and critical thinking that Evil Genius 2 delivers.

    Considering also the very peculiar artistic direction that managed to shape the ambitions of historical films such as the 007 of the 60s with a satirical attitude, Evil Genius 2: World Domination is a worthy successor to that never forgotten first chapter.

    While not without its glitches, there was multiple times my minions stood around when I raised the base alarm due to an agent being detected. Or when I gave my henchman a kill command to an agent and instead, he ran to the 3rd floor and back down again which allowed said agent to escape. These things happen but don’t destroy the sheer delight of ‘trying to take over the world’. I am extremely happy that Evil Genius was brought back, and I hope that we can see more and more entries into this zany world of evil scientist and crazy dictators.

Most of your time especially at the later stages will be spent staring at the screen waiting for your research to complete, or your minions to train just so you can very slowly get the next "mission" done.

    The World Stage, a horrible annoying mini game where you have a world map with up to 20 (yes 20) different regions each with their own individual heat level. These heat levels rise as you earn money on the world stage but they also rise automatically so you will be checking and "playing" this mini game every minute or two for your entire play through. Playing is sacrificing your minions or another resource keeping each heat level down.

    In the research section it says "advance the camping to unlock this research", but that's wrong I was almost at end game and still had a whole section to unlock. What you actually have to do is the side missions to unlock the science minions not the campaign. Indie games wouldn't make that mistake. Its just so bad.

    There is no game manual, and it is very poorly explained in the tutorial. Inexplicably, loot items you spend hours earning have no explanation as to what they do so back to searching online. There are side missions that disappear with out warning, blocking achievements. There are frequent sound dips (PS5) and so you don't hear the important base warnings like a heat region is about to fill.

The storyline is successful and always brings funny ideas and dialogs to you. Thus, the seizure of power and the many possibilities is well done. Unfortunately, some tasks repeat themselves too much. Still, it's a lot of fun to show yourself as the villain and gradually take over the world. This way the title also works on the console and looks really appealing.
