Half baked, frame rate drops, very noticeable pop in, facial textures are poor, very disappointing after deliver us the moon.

Honestly a great game, do not listen to those half-baked **** reviews by some sour people. Yes the game can improve on some early glitches, but people, it's an indie game, with a very low budget compared to AAA. This is absolutely a masterpiece, it builds upon its strengths of its predecessor, its an important story to be told and I can't wait for more games of this dev.

This game is absolute garbage! The first one was pretty great, but the controls are junk on this one and the characters are all complete morons. Do not buy!

I was surprised by the first game Deliver Us The Moon, but the Deliver Us Mars story is just WOOOW!! I love Kathy and everything about it! It was waaaay longer than the first one as I played around 15 hours until the end

In the end, what we get is an inconsistent experience that has just as many clear strengths as it has glaring weaknesses. If you’re looking for a captivating story that is expertly told and populated by well-written and well-acted characters, Deliver Us Mars will hit just the spot for you. In the process, however, you’ll have to tolerate and look past several flaws. Clunky movement, slow and often uninteresting gameplay, visuals that are best described as rough around the edges, a barrage of technical issues- and that’s just scratching the surface. Would I still recommend the game? I would- but at the same time, I’d warn you to be patient and prepare for plenty of frustration along the way.

My space/sci-fi loving brain got a real treat with this game! It truly gave me a sense of wonder floating around a space-ship and exploring Mars. The great narrative, which ultimately was much more of a personal story than I expected it to be, kept me hooked until the end. The gameplay overall was nothing special, but I have to give a shout out to the climbing system, which was really unique and fun to play around with. This game very much tries to follow in the footsteps of big triple A story-driven games, and while the visuals (specifically the facial animations and some of the textures) struggle to keep up, the plot, characters (backed by some great voice acting) and audio made this a very memorable experience. If you liked Deliver Us the Moon, and/or like story-driven space games in general, I'd definitely recommend giving Deliver Us Mars a go. Expand

Not a perfect sequel, but definitely better than what reviewers have been saying. Giving this a 10/10 because we need more fun, puzzle solving games like this, The Talos Principle, The Turing Test, etc. and indie devs like this are hard to come by. Solid game

Huge downgrade compared to 'Deliver us the Moon'. Bad textures, bad or inexistent lips sync, frame drops. And the holograms...a joke...

I already played Deliver us the moon and was hyped for Deliver us Mars. I really like these kind of games with a sci-fi touch, and when it‘s about space travel, count me in. For example: you walk into the WSA building in the beginning, before you go to Mars, and in front of the building there are several NPCs. But these look pretty cringe, they don‘t move and have creepy looks on their faces. Also they are completely non-responsive, so you can jump on their heads and nothing moves, which isn‘t very good for immersion. Here and there the game just doesn‘t feel ready (I have to admit usually I wait a few weeks after releases coz normally there is a patch coming, but I played it on day one, couldn’t wait). Also, there is no vibration in the controller. I think the developers either forgot to add them or they are not done yet (there is an option im the menu to turn vibration on/off, soooo…). There were so many times that I thought „why doesn‘t my controller vibrate, this would be such a good moment“. However, this is not a triple A game and apart from the above mentioned flaws, it’s an absolutely fantastic and fun game, it’s as good as DUTM. The atmosphere is incredible and it feels very realistic. Also the graphics, at least on mars, are just wow. It‘s definitely worth the money. Definitely would recommend. However, Deliver us the Moon was better, just felt more complete(d) than Mars… maybe after a few patches. Expand

Deliver us Mars! I loved it, a great story and really well done, beautiful setting and design. One point off for the somewhat clumsy climbing mechanic’s and how the characters move (like there from a much older game).

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved the first game, Deliver Us the Moon. I actually really enjoyed the game play of the second game at the beginning. Was even going to try to platinum the game. Made it to chapter 4 and the first big climbing section and that killed the game. After spending an hour trying to climb down with the unresponsive controls, I have given up on platinum... and still could not manage to get my character down the cliff. Holding L2 and R2 on controller makes you stab both picks into the wall to cling to it. Well, if you drop and try to hang back on, there's a huge chance the game doesn't even register you hitting L2 and R2 and doesn't even make a stabbing animation. You just die, repeatedly. I understand you need room to slide, to dig your picks in to catch yourself. But it doesn't work consistently. And you have to do this a lot. And apparently it gets worse later on. Thanks a lot for ruining what was a fun game, pick axes. Up to this point the story and dialogue and voice acting were great. I just wanted to finish the story. If you can't beat it, just delete it. :D Expand

Poor and disappointing after Deliver Us the Moon which was great. Really bad frame rate and lag on PS5 is inexcusable. Poor facial modelling (poor even for PS4 frankly) and voice sync also let it down even though the voice acting itself is decent, though not great. The character building is also clumsily handled and ultimately meant I didn't much like anyone. I also found the hologram and splitter puzzles just plain annoying. In the end after really looking forward to this game after "moon' I quit about 1/4 of the way in. Big disappointment. Expand

A sequel that’s put in the work to expand its predecessor’s horizons is commendable, but for Deliver Us Mars this doesn’t always work out perfectly. Still, it offers another thrilling adventure for deep-space explorers, with welcome character moments that make it a little less solitary this time around.

Mars itself doesn’t feature as much as it probably should, but this is made up for by engaging characters, purposeful traversal, and a heartfelt message. [Issue#25, p.77]

Deliver Us Mars is a strongly story-driven adventure, which places great emphasis on the touching narrative sector, capable of making the player think continuously, and on the exploration of a planet full of mysteries: climbing the rocky walls of Mars works but it is the variety in terms of environmental puzzles to be lacking. The visual presentation is solid and, net of some imperfections and some drop in frame rate, embellishes this journey certainly suitable for lovers of the reference genre.
