    It is exactly what it is. A time loop in the same 4 maps over and over again.
    After the first hours of gameplay, you will grow very tired of the mechanics of this game.
    You´ll grow so tired of it to the point of making you sick.
    I never returned to Deathloop again. And i never will.
    Go with Hades or Returnal instead. Much better.

    This game is total TRASH!!! Nothing about it is enjoyable. Its the same 4 maps over and over again. The story is barely a story.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Too grindy. Dumb bosses. There are only 4 maps that you play over and over. If you die in the gas chamber or ice, then you lose everything, wasting hours of collecting residuum. It's a game for children with hours of their life to waste on some boolean values. If you have a job, this is not for you

    Just couldn't get into this game. If you like Returnal on PS5 or Dishonored, you probably will like this. I didn't like either. You either like it or hate it.

    I'm a few hours into this now, and i'm.. bored? The FPS shooter stuff feels very last gen and not interesting, the game world feels dull, the AI is average, the story isn't all that interesting. I'm probably in the minority, but I don't feel compelled to boot up the PS5 and carry on with this.

    I feel like I'm missing something with this game.

    another mediocre game hyped up to hell by the shill "game journalists" that is actually far below average, the story is lame its not as good as the studios other games and gameplay is just about the same as before, so if you're a fan of the gameplay only then you'l most likely enjoy this.

Such lazy cash grab game development and paid for reviews it really shows. This is not game of the year. This is garbage of the year. And these devs should be ashamed of themselves for making a game with 12hr playtime and 3 hours of gameplay.

    I guess Microsoft got its unicorn. Hopefully Elderscrolls 6 doesn’t suffer the same garbage shortcut date as this pile.

    All the positively scored reviews that this game has makes no sense.

    The only positive thing about this game is the gameplay. But beyond that, everything is just very meh or really bad. The only time when some kind of story emerges is towards the end and it's very tame of an end in terms of the themes the game is trying to explore.     One of the worst games I’ve played.
    Despite great looking animations and overall style of the game, it is a mess.
    Repetitive as hell, you will have to do same thing over and over, I know the concept, but when you need to run throw whole location to turn a switch to run second location and get a piece of paper to make this 4 more times. And if you get killed start again, it is just madness    One of the worst games I’ve played.

    Whole story is consistent of UI mess and a tons of letter / notes and other staff that I have beed bored to read after 1st hours. Resurrection is special threat - if you die in crowded location, you will respawn in the same place, which leads to two more death and loop to reload. Please spare yourself and don’t play it.     This game is a disgrace to what Arkane used to put out. Worse world interactivity than Dark Messiah (a 15yo source engine game released by the same dev), worse AI than that game and Dishonored (and many other, more prolific old PC games), edgy, **** voiceacting, and PC optimisation is a joke.

    This game gets boring very fast. Same repetitive gameplay. The story is uninteresting. I found myself rushing to finish the level just to see if the game would get better. I would try to play stealthily but the stealth mechanics are bad. I thought it was supposed to be like dishonored. Dishonored was awesome. Like hell is this a 10 out of 10 game.

    Avoid if you are planning on using a controller. The game feels awful to play if you have a bit of experience with first person shooters. The sensitivity seems to do almost nothing when you crank it up or down, and there are no real fixes for the issue. The game might've been great if they were to fix this issue, but it is unlikely given the age if the game.

The only reason I don’t give this a 0 is because I got it on sale for $30. Still not worth it. Edit: Forgot this is the same studio that hame me dishonored which I loved. Makes this game a 0.     I read all these reviews praising this game, I dont get it. This game is so cheezy. I cant get into it. I keep trying but I dont know, I loose interest within a half hour. I keep giving this game an honest try but for some reason it just doesn't do it for me. You die and return back to retry everything. Kinda like returnal. This game i feel like is trying too hard or something. TheI read all these reviews praising this game, I dont get it. This game is so cheezy. I cant get into it.     Dishonored reskin. Looks like a ps3 game. Thank God we live in these times where you can actually see gameplay online as opposed to having lived 20yrs ago and buying the game randomly and hoping it doesn’t suck. This is a hard pass for me.

    What is wrong with media giving such high scores to this game? Prey/Dishonored were masterpieces by comparison. It's below average and boring, with reused assets and abilities. Worth a buy when it's 5$ ... maybe

    I can see what Arkane was trying to do with Deathloop I really can, but it just falls so flat for me and I’m so disappointed as I had high hopes for the game. My problems with the game are mainly the gameplay itself as I really don’t like anything about it. The gunplay is just terrible and guns themselves aren’t vary satisfying to use.     I can see what Arkane was trying to do with Deathloop I really can, but it just falls so flat for me and I’m so disappointed as I had high hopes for the game. My problems with the game are mainly the gameplay itself as I really don’t like anything about it. The gunplay is just terrible and guns themselves aren’t vary satisfying to use. The variety of weapons are slim and the modifications to them don’t feel like they change the performance of the gun much at all. The powers I just didn’t find vary fun to use, and they all seemed like lesser versions of dishonored’s powers. The stealth is fine pretty standard stealth system nothing really bad to say here. The A.I are so incredibly inconsistent that you could kill someone 3 inches from them and they won’t notice, but if your 3 floors above an enemy and bump into a bottle they’ll sound the alarms! The game also has a lot of bugs to work out from FPS drops to Clipping through objects.

    It’s not all bad though, the atmosphere is immersive, the levels "the few there are" are well designed, the voice acting is stellar, and the story is great! Overall I didn’t enjoy the game much at all, I relished the moments that I got to hear Colt and Julliana talk to each other because it was the best part of the game for me. The gameplay just really missed the mark on this one, it’s a damm shame.    … Expand

    I thought the first few hours of the game were alright, but towards the end it got so stale and boring, jesus… the game literally wastes your time. The gameplay is trash, gunplay is boring, AI is dumb. Im lucky i got this game on sale. Garbage

    The repetitiveness is an absolute grind especially if you die late in the day losing up to an hour of game play. The bland graphics, wierd 60's style and rubbish enemies are all very mediocre especially for an 80 euro new gen game. There is a lack of atmosphere compared to Dishonoured and Prey two of my favorite games.     Deathloop offers well-designed stealth levels under the core gameplay of Roguelike. At the same time, the variety of weapons and special powers also support the exciting combat. Julianna's "invasion" adds the uncertainty of the game, but may also spoil the player's experience.

    I’m honestly surprised, because I did not expect to have so much fun with Deathloop. It draws some gameplay ideas from Dishonored, but introduces time-related mechanics, offers an intriguing story with interesting characters and has its own unique and coherent style. It’s an original game, full of surprises and addictive, but not necessarily easily digestible for everyone. For me however it’s one of the best titles of 2021. [11/2021, p.22]

    Deathloop is Arkane at its best, combining its system-driven immersive-sim gameplay with a unique and fascinating story set-up. Excellent presentation and style, along with fantastic dialogue and character performances makes Deathloop one of the most innovative games in years and a valuable PS5 exclusive.
